"forced to the ground immediately" I see what you mean by that.

Don't take that "ground" into the situation, but how they deal with planes that both pilots are unconscious?

USAF policy is that they only go for shooting it down if there is a threat to anyone outside the plane. For example 9/11.
If they didn't, it would be like 9/11
It's either shoot the civilians down or wait until they crash into a building which will kill more.

Also if you’re flying VFR through an active MOA in the US sometimes they’ll fly alongside you, contact you, and ask you to participate in a training exercise. All you normally do is fly straight and level while they practice interception and intimidation techniques such as sending their jets screaming across and above your nose and Mach Jesus. Super cool guys.
Oh, VFR. Yeah, all commercial airline flights are IFR and I wouldn't expect anybody to accept that idea, much less to advance it with an airliner.

I prefer grounded immediately and permanently but forced to the ground immediately worms too
I've heard of these fighter jets before and a situation that was actually quite disturbing.
At one point a plane had become unresponsive and they took a team of fighter jets to look Inside the plane to see what's happening and they found everyone on the flight dead because the plane lost pressure
If you see jets next to your commercial flight just know you’re probably breathing your last breaths

"Oh look a civilian airline"
everyone's talking about forced to the ground immediately, was the precision that some modern jets are capable of they can more than likely take out the engines without harming the wings of the aircraft forcing the pilot to take it to the ground whether that means crashing and burning or a rough landing

Out of curiosity, are there any instances where a comercial air liner was "forced to the ground, immediately"?
"Oh hey, a civilian airliner!"
They've come to give you a speeding ticket.
Pretty sure fighter jets where dispatched to passenger planes on 9/11 too
How are fighter jets able to stay in perfect coordination when flying together?
Learned this from The Ghost Plane incident Helios Flight 522
Here's a cool trick: If you're lonely while flying and want a fighter jet to hang out with you, change your transponder code to 7500!
I believe squawking 7500 will also scramble them fairly quickly
We saw that after a few days after 9/11 over the city 15 escorting 747s it was pretty cool
I would expect that it would be more likely that it would be the case where the plane was a threat to the ground, rather than from the ground, where they would scramble the intercept flight
Not always. The first clip is just bulgarian mig 29s escorting the first ever a380 to land in sofia airport(the airport of the capital)

Pity they didn't work like that on 9/11
actually had government officials done their job, 9/11 never would have happened. also had the pilots followed protocol and kept the cockpit door closed 9/11 would have never happened. there were so many levels of security that was completely disregarded.
@@678friedbed This procedure was created due to 9/11. Before, they never thought or worried about a hijacking. Airport security even changed with TSA stepping up their protocols.
@@patrickbateman7407 lol, TSA did exist before 9/11. also standard protocol was for pilots to keep the cockpit door closed before 9/11 and the pilots were not following that protocol. also one of the terriosts was stoped from entering the US because the employee was actually following protocol. there were hijackings before that, they usually didn't commit suicide with the planes though.

Project wingman be like
“When there’s a threat to the passengers”
Me”but I thought they shoot down the plane when there’s a threat”
Why didnt it work in 2001?
Because commercial air intercepts weren’t a thing before 9/11. All these policy’s and procedures were created because of 9/11.
Not really fighters, but they usually send interceptors since that’s literally their job.
Well today interceptors barely even exist Russia has the mig31 family and thats it from the popular ones most countries use fighters for that role
Btw, the screens flashing are just the MFDs
When there is a threat to the passengers they send a fighter jet like that’s really gonna help them it’s mainly for the safety of everyone on the ground
Oh, I thought he was gonna say when they get caught spraying unknown chemicals in the atmosphere they have to be grounded...
On 9/11 I saw the passenger plane got shot down!
None of the planes were shot down on 9/11
why do the screens keep disappearing and reappering on camera
In the pilot's handbook you can respond to the tower or other planes physically. However you could only agree, there was no no.
Ukraine airforce didn't response so Russia sent fighterjets to "investigate" what the problem was.
The migs in the start were bulgarian btw
To hide their movements in the commercial jets radar signature.
Jett pilot walking out of his jet, knocking on the Commercial plane widow and asks the pilot "You know why i pulled you over sir?"
You forgot to mention that the most common is when commercial pilots see a fighterjet next to them is scrambling for their radio as they realise they forgot to change frequency.
We frndz used to catch frequency of ATC jst by using headphones by simply sitting half km away & listening ATC & Pilot conversation. 😂😂
Cool fact those armed forces in that clip borded the plane midair from the fighter jet
once when I was about 6 years old, I was at a window seat in an airplane heading to Dubai and I saw fighter jets outside of the window. Never knew what it meant until now.

"Forced to the ground immediately"
Yeah... in multiple pieces
Forced to the ground immidiently
"Father i crave the forbidden heqt signature"-that aircraft
It would be so cool to see one when flying
The first jets looked like Bulgarian MiG-29s. 1 of them was a UB (a trainer kind) but none were carrying missiles, and they were a lot, so that wasn't an interception, it was more likely a training exercise.
You mean shot down immediately 🤣
Also done when air exclusion zones are violated. Like when the US President is in an area, the airspace around him is closed down. Try to fly through it, and you'll see fighters on your wings very quickly
“Oh look a Civillian Airliner.”
If they're just intercepting they'll usually be behind the aircraft to start with so they can't be seen by the passengers - it's only if they can't get a response from the crew that they will pull along side to get the crew's attention.
