  • I fabricated a foot operated motorcycle hydraulic lift bench by cutting and modifying an existing smaller cruiser type lift.
Although I had made plans and drawings, I ended up changing and modifying the design as I went along so I could have more width and stability.
Currently the video does not show the bike, however, I tested the lift with a collection of very heavy items that replicated the weight of the bike. I need to modify and fabricate a better ramp to load the bike.
I shall be making a proper video of the process with commentary sometime in the future.
    Materials used:
1 x bog standard cruiser lift type hydraulic jack
    2 x 1750 mm long 30 x 30 x 5 steel box section (table/bench)
    2 x 1750 mm long 30 x 30 x 5 steel box section (base)
    2 x 4200 mm 4" x 2" timber
1 x 2440 x 1220 x 12 mm plywood (cut in half and laid on top of each other giving a 24mm (almost 1") sheathing.
    Lots of 5mm x 80 mm screws
Variaous lenghts (100, 120, 140 mm) of M10 and M12 bolts with corresponding nuts and washers
And of-course be prepared to break a few drill bits 😂
Total material cost - under £200
