It's great to see these get added to the build, but also sad that we'll never see this piece again. The old flower stem just looks SO much nicer as grass, and it's a shame that they're not being made anymore and will only continue to increase in price over time. I really wish LEGO had some way to keep around legacy parts and colors for MOC builders.
Agreed. For me, it's the fact that it actually has a stud on it. It looks and feels more like a LEGO element than the new bar variant. The new piece may be far sturdier and easier to work with, but it's got nothing on the old one's vibes.
@@CheeseyStudios I find it harder to work with for regular builds on the ground. For the new one you have to embed an attachment or use a 1x1 round stud with hole, which is rare and looks bad.

I’ve never in my life thought that I’d be so happy about a slightly more tan green plastic grass. But jokes aside I feel that the inclusion of them adds a fair amount more of that in game realism to it and overall just looks great!

Ooh i just had an interesting idea for a player minifig set up you could do as a little bit of world building, have a character standing at a work bench with a stick in one hand (probably represented by some sort of generic sticklike item, maybe even one of the old and super simple harry potter wands) and a diamond in the other (I remember one of your block display shorts showing how you made diamond ore blocks and I thought the piece to represent the diamonds in the rock would be perfect for a singular diamond in the hand) ready to make a new tool
I was hoping you'd miss the one hiding under the target dummy but regardless it looks way better as a whole now.

also, a little suggesting, maybe try having some of the grass and flowers be in some of the corners of the single 2x2 areas to simulated the random placement of foliage on blocks.
That bag of stems looks like and probably costs as much as a bag of ganj.

Hey Cheesey, I have a question or two.
So I've decided I want to make a mock of my own, and I find myself having som issues as a less experienced and more casual lego fan.
For example, I've found myself needing black and white tiles, but I'm not sure if I want them with or without a groove on them. How does a grooved tile differ from a non-grooved tile?
Hey! The grooved tiles are the more modern version of the piece, and definitely the one you want to get as they're much cheaper, newer, and more common. The difference between the two is that the grooved ones have a little lip on the bottom edges which allow you to easily pry it off a baseplate!
@@CheeseyStudios AH, helpful. I wasn't sure if the grooved ones were like angled on the sides or something and could be used better for things like cafe floors or something.

Bricklink has a good seller feedback system. Just check the feedback before making the purchase. I have never been scammed, the worst thing that ever happens is not being satisfied with the condition and even that's rare.
