Polaris Orbital - Ambient/Electronica (Roland Fantom 8)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 окт 2024
- First full track done completely on the Roland Fantom 8, including all effects and sequencing. Here I used pattern groups (much like using scenes/clips in Bitwig/Live), so that I could improvise the arrangement on the fly, while mixing the levels if I need to. I think I used a total of 13 out of 16 tracks, which sometimes all play at the same time!

Title is named after the Polaris Hotel from the Apple TV series, 'For All Mankind' which I'm currently watching. Please like and subscribe if you enjoy the music, it really helps the channel out!
As the due date draws near, embrace the moment, for it's payment time. With budget in hand, settle your debts, and find balance in the ebb and flow of life. It's a financial dance, where numbers and dreams align. Your art creates a tranquil oasis in the chaos of the world. Thank you for crafting such serene beauty, like a gentle melody that soothes the soul. Your work is an invitation to peace and contemplation, and for that, I'm truly grateful.
Love your spaceship (I mean studio)🌌
This is great.
Would love to see the occasional sound design/process video from you.
I’ve learned a lot in the past year watching this channel, Martin Sturtzer and S1gns of L1fe.
Much to learn, but enjoying the process.
absolutelly stunning , the minimalism used in the perfect way, more is not better, sometimes less is better, in this case less is much better ...
Polaris will quickly move up on views, just like Arpeggiator is doing - it's that good! Man I love to chill to SA!!!
Yesssssssssssss. Great stuff man. I’m always super impressed with your sound selection and mixing. It always sounds so damn good.
Glad you liked it!
FANTASTIC !
Bravo, thank you for the beautiful Music!✌🙏
Hi Pat...thanks for the journey..I see you have got the new NI S88 MK3! love the pads and the arp with the blowing out my hair...I am on my way to meet ya in UK...lol
Thanks :) No, I don't have the S88 mk3, but I do have the Fantom-8! I used to have the S88 mk2, but really wanted a better keybed/action hence the change :)
Once again, with this track, you have captured my ears..Great Vibes
Thank You ✨💃🏼🕺✨
Toujours de la qualité, merci !
Hi State!
The Fantom has a flaw! You can play pads and drones on 1 or 2 tracks. When more, it lacks polyphony. Therefore, I prescribe drones separately if the track is difficult to texture. I have some work on the channel if you're interested.
Thank you for your good work!
Excellent! I love this. Nice tonal colors produced by the Fantom 8, Roland makes great stuff. Really inspiring piece, thanks for sharing this
This is just lovely. So relaxing and brings back such good memories too. Very uplifting. Thank you !!!
En vous écoutant je regarde le Ciel bleu à l’ombre d’un auvent et laisse la musique me transporter vers l’infini où l’Éternité nous attend pour un autre Monde meilleur…❤💐
Beautiful atmosphere and depth, thanks for sharing your music 😊
Great piece Pat, you are really getting the best out of the Fantom 8, the whole production is fantastic.
Thank you!
What an amazing instrument! (Your abilities, too) !
Thank you!
Great music! I did not know Roland Fantom could sound this good. My workhorse is Kurzweil PC4. Keep up the good music man.
😎🥰
Very nice and all on the Fantom you say fantastic. Never owned a Roland (apart from the SH-01 years ago gone now unfortunately) The Fantom would probably be to much for what I need, a weighted midi controller keyboard, but one never knows as you have shown it in a tremendous light and got me thinking.
The built in sequencer is kind of more than I need too! I doubt I'll use it all that much. But there's a lot of synth in this thing!
What a gorgeous piece. Well done.
Sounds of crickets and birds ❤
Magnifique, merci de nous faire partager votre talent
ALWAYS soooo coooool ... it's exhausting. 😄💙💙💙
Beautiful as always! Crazy that this was all done on the Fantom. I had one back in 2001 Roland Fantom Fa76 and a Korg Triton Pro X 88 with an MPC2000 XL and Yamaha Aw4416 Digital Mixer. I'm tempted to get another one or the Yamaha MONTAGE M8x 88-Key.
Keep up the amazing work, you inspired me to get back into it, I own too many synths thanks to you! Oh yes one last thing I ditched Ableton for Bitwig after 18 years, amazing DAW.
The last time I owned a workstation was back in my 20s I think, a 61 key Korg Triton (standard version). They're a lot of fun, but it won't replace my DAW :)
Are there clip launcher like features in the fantom 8 is that what’s going on on the color pads on the fantom8? If so then man I want this keyboard.
Yeah exactly, it does clips and scenes which you can launch from the touchscreen or you can change the pad mode for launching them@@warp9988
Fantastic work - Really enjoyed it -some great kit you have there.
Really enjoyed this one, thank you!
Hello State Azure! To output a dry signal from Fantom, you need to connect the cables to Sub1 and specify this routing in the settings. Maybe you've already figured it out.
Wonderful music!!!
Love it!!
Wow, that's all Fantom? Sounds awesome.
Amazing 😍
Excelent piece of music.❤
he is getting better
great ambient track 👏
Amazing music !
Brilliant stuff mate ✌🏻🫵🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cheers bud!
Awesome track!
You can assign a filtering function to panorama markers. Press the assign2 button, and then shift and turn the panorama knob, set the value to 74. Then shift and touch the fader and set the value to 7 or another.
This track is awsome
sounded good👍
Looks like you’re streamlining your studio towards minimalism with a few work horses only; removing clutter and distraction, or is this simply a “quiter” corner in your studio? I have chosen the Fantom as main keys and controller as well. Great track and great atmosphere as always. Thanks for being such a great inspiration 🙏 Love and light from Khao Lak, Thailand 🇹🇭❤️☀️🏖🌴🥥🐘
Thanks! Not much has changed in the studio, it's just a restricted POV from these camera angles. Still have 2 big stands of synths and a modular system in that room :)
@@stateazure Great to hear that, brother! Don't we love to be surrounded by synths? I'd never trade my keyboard synths for a simple controller and some vsts... Especially the analog ones I love and cherish the most, couldn't do without them.
A beauty as always and that Fantom sounds really good! What’s that big plugin your tweeking?
Thanks. Decibel was on the top right monitor, that's just an analyser, the plugin on the bottom screen is a limiter TDR Limiter
I feel like I’m slipping through the spaces between atoms .
This is an absolute highlight for me - an ambient track with this professional quality - produced entirely with the Fantom. Is there a way to purchase this Fantom scene (SVD file, I use a Fantom 7)? Thanks for this publication 🙂
Thanks! I put a link to the exported scene in my description. Not sure how this will work though, since I used a lot of tweaked tones and it doesn't seem exported scenes include those.
@@stateazure Thank you very much! I was able to import your song without any losses with all 16 sounds and 6 pattern groups. "Polaris Orbital" is a real master piece of Fantom ambient sound design 🙂
That's interesting, I wonder if it just only used factory presets rather than my tweaked/re-saved versions?...There's also 1 or 2 completely new presets I made and used (the shorter synth plucks used for the sequence parts). Anyway, glad you managed to import it :)@@planetambient
@@stateazure As soon as you adjust a preset tone, it will be exported as a user tone along with the other scene data. The only prerequisite is that appropriate expansions (e.g. Jupiter 8) are installed on both machines.
Good to know! Thanks for the info! So does that mean it actually included my brand new tones i.e SA Sync Synth 1 and 3 tones? and kept the names? I wonder how it handles storing those without overwriting your own? @@planetambient
How many of the parts were using the VA synths versus Zen Core?
I'm not sure, I would have to get back to you on that. I want to say maybe 4 or 5 VA synths, more were Zen.
How is the sequencer you think? Fast and easy to put down ides with?
Very fast and easy to use, at least how I was using it i.e. patterns
I’m getting vague Looker vibes
