Here’s another tip that might be useful. I often find myself panicking and holding down the fire button even when I know I’m nowhere near hitting the enemy. This happens more on full auto weapons like smgs. If you are having a hard time breaking this habit, take some slow fire rate weapons like the peacekeeper or wingman where it’s really punishing if you miss your shots. This will get you to slow down and make sure your shot will connect. Then, just run around the firing range with some friends. It’s really fun and it’s way easier to practice in a low stress environment.
This is actually really good! I've tried that a few because I have possibly the worst aim in history. Also something that always happens to me is I always end up crouching accidentally while aiming/firing, and it ends up messing me up .(controller player, switched circle with R3)
Yeah, brand new player (about 2 days after season 15 started; Apex, why didn't I start on you sooner!?!), and I find myself doing that fairly consistently. The gunplay is so fast paced and mobile compared to what I'm used to (BF4, BF1) that I really do need to force myself to slow down a bit and not spray 3/4 of a mag into air.
The comments in this video restore my faith in humanity. This right here is why the apex community is absolutely the best. Mango you have put your channel and community together absolutely perfect dude........ Awesome tips by the best ive heard in a while
6:18 I like hitmarkers off. I turned it off and instantly it helped, I could see my target clearer and hit more shots. The hit marker stays for around 30ms to 40ms after you damaged the target so when I used the wingman I was shooting where they were not where they are. I recommend people try a game session with it off, it is preference. The downside of hit markers off is that you don't get a marker for grenades or abilities, for gnades and damage abilities you have to look at your damage to see if it hit, you will of course hear a crack or a knock.
Might not be for everyone but personally found my aim improving a lot when id put on music quiet enough where it didnt distract me but loud enough i could still keep up with the lyrics or beat and play like i knew i wouldnt miss shots and win the 1v1. would end up getting into a rhythm/flow where everything felt good and if i did end up missing it didnt bother me enough to make me sit around for 5-10min before i re Q. it probably doesnt translate 100% to apex but i played smite for 10 years and in a lot of scenarios i learned that if youre on low hp but you still posture like youre gonna win that fight still you can make the other guy whos healthier and or in a better spot mis play. higher ranks you are its likely to work less but you get the point.
Lol I do this with war thunder a lot. It’s either songs like back in black, thunderstruck, immigrant song, that make you feel like a badass, or something like mr bluesky which is fun and keeps you in a good mood and having fun while dying over and over again.
"in a lot of scenarios i learned that if youre on low hp but you still posture like youre gonna win that fight still you can make the other guy whos healthier and or in a better spot mis play" bro I love that line because being Mentally prepared for that situation is so amazing My literal favorite thing to do in apex is to remember "When enemies crack me they usually push which leads to them being in the open" I cant count how many times I survived or stopped an aggro team because I was able to reground myself take advantage of popping back out even with low health JUST to crack targets shield. now the fight goes into round 2.
I've definitely found 4:4 better then 4:3 or even 3:3. I actually got told my sense was high by a random IG mnk Buddy. I've learned to readjust when missing shots, although firing a whole R-301 clip into a desk's dashboard last night when I knew the wraith was behind it does not prove my point 😅
Anyone have any tips to break the ads while in close fights habit? I can commit to it when I start the game but when the hard push happens I tend to ADS and lose my center. Sadboi lol
I know that it's more preference based, but i find that 1,2-2,0 is too low. You can't be fast enough if someone ambushes you from behind. I use more 3-3,5
I would like to say that apex has this thing where if you are moving over a certain speed you have less recoil I’m not joking if you go into the range and strafe on a bot there is noticeably less recoil not matter the gun
Don't know about usability of this shit, but im playing on Firing Range , and shooting to bots, or we have friendly fights, so, im turning OFF aim assist. Mb im stupid, tell me
I was the same. Switched melee and ping around and worst that happens if accidentally click right stick is you ping them, which can actually help rather than hinder. Just took a while to get used to Utlimates being triggered by L1 and R3 click.
Ahhh... i realize on Tip no.1, i use wingman and hit properly when i tracking the enemy than the crosshairs, after that i will following Crosshairs again. I need to train my eye tracking which need to focus.
Not really. Same thing as defensive driving instructors telling you that when you lose control, you need to focus on where you want the car to go, not where it's going. That 0.1 of a second that your brain saves can keep you out of a car wreck or put you on top in a fire fight.
@@kensbrandt that term makes sense tho it literally tells you to move the car where you need it to go.... the aim thing is a no Brainer you would just be emptying a mag into nothing?? It's not the 1700s people don't fight standing still
Something a lot of people underestimate is how much positioning effects your aim. If you need to shoot on reflex you probably did something wrong beforehand. A lot of people think there aim is the problem when really the problem is that they make it hard for themselves to hit there shots by poor positioning.
Hey guys, I wanted to give some advice on sensitivity. I highly recommend anyone just starting out use the default sensitivity options, but there’s some important things to know about those defaults. Firstly, pitch and yaw speed are not equal on the defaults, and secondly as you move up the sensitivity list, you’ll find that they do not scale linearly and appear to be more like a collection of settings that work well, with no particular ratio. 2 has a higher vertical value than horizontal, 3, 4, and 5 all have almost identical vertical values, with the horizontal values scaling up significantly as you move up (3 has horizontal and vertical almost the same, with 5 having a much higher horizontal and 4 being in the middle. Once you jump to 6 the vertical value skyrockets and makes controlling recoil significantly harder. This is the reason no one ever recommends anything below three or above 5. Now what if you find 3 too slow and 4 too fast? Now we can get into the nitty gritty. You can open the advanced look control panel, to get this in between sense. Set your outer threshold to 2, deadzone to as low as possible without drift, and response curve to 10. Set the sliders marked “extra pitch and yaw” and “ads extra pitch and yaw” to 0 along with ramp up time and delay. Then refer to the chart ive linked below to copy your preferred sense. From here I recommend tweaking your response curve first, it affects how much precision you have in the center of your stick, and makes a bigger difference than you’d think (I use 7, and don’t recommend above a 15). Then you can tweak your pitch and yaw. For ADS try and stay in the general range of 100-220 yaw, and 70-100 pitch. You can deviate a little bit from this, but that range is tried and tested, and is where most professional players sensitivity falls under. Hipfire matters less, but I don’t really recommend below 150 or above 340 yaw, or below 130 or above 230 pitch. Again, if you’re happy with the default sense, don’t change it, but if you’re struggling to hit shots, this is worth a try.
I also want to take a moment to demystify outer threshold, along with extra pitch and extra yaw. Outer threshold is the opposite of a deadzone, it controls the outer limits of your stick. The higher the setting the less you have to move the stick to get to the max value, and I recommend you keep this low, to have full use of your stick. Extra pitch and extra yaw, add additional sensitivity when the stick is pushed to the outer threshold. With a yaw value of 150, and an extra yaw value of 50, you will have a horizontal sense of 150, until you push the stick to the outer limit, at which point the horizontal sense will become 200. What a lot of people don’t know or forget to mention is that the extra settings become disabled when aim assist is active. The best use case for this in my opinion is for hipfire. Set your hipfire yaw to a setting that you find it easy to track with (for me that setting is 180), then turn your extra yaw setting up. This setting can go quite high (I run mine at 140). What this will effectively do, is give you a very fast sense of 320, but when your crosshairs pass over a target that sense is reduced to 180 to make your tracking more fluid. Using this setting, and spending the time to dial in the correct values for you, will mean that you no longer have to compromise between fast sense for movement, and a slower sense for easy hipfire tracking. I dont particularly recommend that most people use extra pitch and yaw on ADS settings (though some people find success doing this as well. The final settings to touch on are ramp up and delay. These control the time it takes to switch from your base sense and extra sense. Delay will create a sudden jolt, and I highly recommend against using it. Ramp up with make the transition between the two senses, more fluid over a short time period. I have mine set to 25, but this one is really personal preference. Some people leave it at 0, some people go even higher than me. Either way ramp up wont drastically effect your aim, it may just make flicking either slightly easier or slightly harder. I hope that this helped someone. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.
First of all, I appreciate the comments, great insight. Pay no attention to the troll. Secondly, I’m curious about the chart you said you would link but did not. Can you still link it or perhaps send it to me tomorrow in some manner? Thank you in advance.

The seeming knowledge (particular when it comes to how muscles interact along with your brain and how it perceives it) is a really refreshing change. It's not just saying "don't freak out if you miss" but also telling you why your brain thinks it should, when it shouldn't. Especially staying calm during the fights is important. I can't really tell if it's still just the regular hipfire spread or not. Would be appreciated!
I have one thing you dont need the hitmarker if you leave the damage on so you will also see if it connected either way :) and i feel like you see less when the hitmarker is on
I use 4-3 and i feel like everyone thinks if ur going 4, you have to do 4-4 and the same for 3. If you dont have ur sens, don’t be afraid to change the numbers and make them different. Btw, keep up the great work man!
To be honest for me I play 5:6 I'm used it and it works for me and when I get in stressful situations its best not to remind me ive learned (can be different for others) because usually its better if you dont tell me because half the time I haven't noticed so my brain has set me into a panic mindset ive learned to semi tune out basically everything that isn't a call out and thats also why I turn of announcers in games
