You may like this version _so much more_ than the original, but the fact remains that it would not have existed _'without'_ the original. Coming up with the tune in the first place was the the more creative _and_ difficult part of the artistic process. _"Improving"_ an already existing song by adding bright colors, bells and whistles, a pleasant sounding female voice and changing the gender association (from a visual perspective at least) was not all that hard to do --- _after the fact)._ Just because the original was the exuberant but _straight father_ and this is the _sexy sapphic woke daughter_ doesn't change the fact that the daughter would not have existed without the father.

I think this is the best musical ever and it is the best tribute to The Beatles ever. I love many of these versions, and this song is one of my favorites. Very cute girl!
I was like 8 when I first watched this movie. I was so confused through out the whole movie. It probably didn't help that I didn't pay attention to most of it.

When I was seven i watched the full movie (innapropriate scenes and all) and I didn't really understand it until I rewatched it like five years later
I swear. I remember seeing this movie somewhere. I can't remember where but when this scene happened I expected her to sing to the guy. When I saw that it was the girl though my heart just sparked. This was before I knew I was gay, but I did know that then and there something felt good and natural. I knew I felt connected to a character for the first time in that way.
