I like the goal of your channel. So easy to get carried away with super complex beer making processes but you can still make an excellent beer without all the fancy equipment. I just started BIAB and I'm blown away by the quality! I also like that you look like Harrison Ford. Cheers!

Thanks! Honestly, I think it can be too easy to get carried away with pumps, valves, dump ports, hoses, electronics, CIP systems, etc...next thing you spend more time and money maintaining your equipment than brewing beer. I am glad I moved to BIAB 4 years ago!

Great video as always, very interesting. I use Voss and underpitch which I believe adds to the flavour. I use 2g per 10 lts at 35c and it works very well :)

I underpitched in my prior batches using Omega Voss. I read some conflicting info on the pitch rate for the dry Voss so I just pitched the entire pack. It sounds like something to play around with more in the future.

Great video. I've been thinking of doing dry hopping the way you did it but haven't got around to it yet. I do have a hazy IPA brew coming up soon though and I will try it this time, great to see how you did it. Other than that, a couple of thoughts... when you purge the serving keg with fermentation CO2, why not fill it with starsan first so you are sure you will get all of the O2 out? Okay, sounds like I know what I'm talking about... actually haven't done it myself, but it's yet another of those things "I've been thinking about". I never have much problem transfering my wort to the fermenter, I always let the wort sit in the kettle an hour or so after chilling and before I transfer to fermenter. I guess a lot of stuff sink to bottom during that time. I often use a smaller BIAB-bag too for my hop additions to keep them contained.

In the past I have filled a keg with Star San solution and pushed that out with bottled CO2. I know Brulosophy has an article about using fermentation CO2 to push solution out of a keg during fermentation. A challenge for me would be having another vessel in my fermentation chamber to hold the expelled solution as I don't have room. There is a thread on Homebrew Talk showing that CO2 from fermentation should be plenty to fully purge a keg. It seems to have worked well for me the 2 times I have tried it.
One of these days I should break down and get a kettle with a ball valve or just try to add one to mine. Or maybe just pick up a hop spider to contain hop matter in the kettle. Or both!

Congratulations on a fine brew/brew day! How did it go over with the campers? I bet they really enjoyed it!

The beer turned out great. It was a campout with a lot of other homebrew to choose from, but about half the keg was consumed. That meant I had half a keg to enjoy at home!

In a hazy ipa, the chloride should be higher than the sulfate

I would agree. This recipe is more of an American Pale Ale that has a light haze due to the Oats, Voss yeast and Hops (though the percentage of Oats and the amount of hops are both modest). The first iteration of this recipe used US-05 and had Crystal malt instead of Munich.

Yeah...I am not the best in front of the camera. Hopefully I am improving with each video though.
