Oh my goodness... the cycle difference on the 2 splitters is excruciating to see... But even a slow old splitter is better than no splitter at all!!
My thoughts exactly!
Bingo
Yup, turtles win races often...steady!
I’ve seen worse, new log splitters giving up after a few hours work😉
Hi Chris!!😀😀
Nice job!!
It's hard to watch the old splitter after watching the ultra splitting.
Take care my friend!!😀💚
Logger Al
Tell me about it, watching it and using it was hard to do!
There’s some punky wood in there….😀
It all burns 😉
Great job guys👍
It feels weird when I'm looking at all those big stumps and thinking that's some good wood there 😂.
Yup!
The Ultra should be in the Hall of Fame for splitters!! Both splitters got a heck of a workout!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks!
Sometimes you just have to run the old iron for a bit to make you appreciate the newer, more efficient machines. GNI
Yup, it still works good!
That is an awesome splitter. It’s split a lot of wood.
Yup, it sure has and is a good one!
Hey Chris, I'd love it if you could do a video or short talk in one of your videos about the differences between a horizontal splitter like yours and a vertical one like I've seen some other guys have. What are the pluses and minuses for each. Not sure if you have any experience with the vertical ones, but they definitely seem like an interesting tool for big chunks (hopefully with a lift that is lol).
All the best Wood Boss!
Morning everyone! 🌞🌞 I had a buddy who built his own splitter. He made it so he could use it either vertically or horizontally. It was massive. He had a habit of making things oversized. 👍❤️📹😃
@@danacampbell-vu2ut sounds like he has a 'just in case' mentality 😆
Great idea! We will do something soon!
Owning a Supersplit and watching your channel has spoiled me in splitting speed. That old splitter was a painful memory of the past.
Yup, speed is good!
Look at the pipes on that kid! 💪💪Nice splitting job guys 👍
Oh yeah! Thanks!
The kids getting big...wondering if this day is still the best day he ever had? 7 outta 10 Professor!
Yup, every day in the woodyard is the best day ever!
Now that was a good day's work, enough to wear Gavin out!! The Ultra, a glacier and four men sure made it happen! GNI
Yes Sir! Thanks!
And to think thats the speed I used to split all my wood.
You must have patience for days 😜
I agree Bert, I have a glacier like Chris’s old splitter. The Ultra puts it to shame.
Yup, better than a maul!
Good show!
Thanks!!!
That’s a good days work! Looks like yall burned Gavin out😂 Take care see ya tomorrow 👍🏻👍🏻GNI
Yup, it was a good day! Thanks!!
Good part 2 to the awesome bucking session from yesterday 😊 Some times I wonder if a foot peddle would be advantageous with the Ultra 🤔 I may be over thinking it though since I've never run one myself. Good video 👍
Could be.... but because of the speed....hands might get chopped???
@@InTheWoodyard Good point
Well done fellas!👍🏾💯
Thanks!
Man, somebody had a growth spurt..... thanks for the content!!
Thanks for watching!
You know you’re tired when can nap straight up laying on ground lol
Yup, I have done that!
Dang that's a lot for one day.lol y'all gotta come here.lol ha ha ha
Yup, it was a good day!
Both of those machines are faster than my old Craftsmen 27 ton, but it works as fast as I do.
Any hydraulic splitter is better than a maul!
@@InTheWoodyard You got that right, but sometimes I still get my 10# "Japan" maul out just for fun.
Imagine doing all that with an axe? Now that's real work
No, it would take way to long!
Gavin did a great job. My son Landen would also be passed out on the grass 🤣😉👍
Yes he did!
Place for 16 ways wedge on the EASTONMADE Chris . 😊 20 min to cut a full cord and 20 min to split a full cord buddy . 😊
ok
Wood hounds and their splitters , and a lot of exercise. Job well done, time for lunch.
YES! Thanks!
Gavin tapped out 😅
It was a long hot day and for a 14 year old he did great!
lots of fun. You don't realize how fast your splitter really is until you watch other splitters, but fun either way.
Yes and yup, thanks!
Nice video Chris. Lots of splits right there. GNI
Thanks 👍
So much lifting. It's making my hernias hurt just watching.
Sorry to hear that, it was great fun!
🤘
Thanks!!!
Great Thumbnail Chris, Roadkill!😂Great use of equipment and Teamwork🤘🏻🪵🇺🇸
Thanks!!!
Good Morning everyone have a good day nice video ( Ty Ron
Hello Ron!
Good morning all!
Hello!
G’morning Dudes ! Dat’s alotta wood ! Glacial speeds, but got it done. Most best action !
GoodNightIrene
Thanks fellow Dude!
I'm tired just from watching this episode of dudes with a split personality 👍👍👍
Love the pun!😊😊😊😊
Ha! Good one!
Genius Chris ! Who woulda thot that folks would want to watch ( even contribute $$$ ) men sweating working firewood with high end gear. Genius. I even take a break to look. It's M.B.A. QUALITY. What's next ?
Thanks for watching, lots more to come!
Old splitter may be slow but splitting by hand would be a lot slower!
Exactly!
👍👍👍
Thanks!!!
The home-made one is about what my first upgrade speed is 14 sec with a 3,600rpm engine.
.
Originally with the flathead Briggs running at 3,000rpm it was 18sec.
Just brutal slow..
.
Stage 2 upgrades should push it towards 7.somthing seconds.
.
See half baked video for my crazy plan, to take over the world.
lol
Yup, a slow splitter is hard for me to watch or use now but, still way better than an axe or maul!
Good Morning Woodhounds!!
Thanks!!
Please watch Daniel atkins last video and ask about hitting his back truck widow as a joke. Lol
Thanks for the tip!
More splitting😊
Yup!
A lot of wood got touched in this video
Yes it did that!
Might have to sent it back to Andrew at EASTONMADE see the powder coat 🧥 is come off the EASTONMADE. Not good for something made in CANADA 🇨🇦 CHRIS . The old orange 🍊 crush is the slowest splitter on U tube . Look 👀 like 👍 turtle 🐢 and rabbit 🐇 race this morning, any side BET this morning with wood 🪵 hounds lol 😊. 40/1 on the EASTONMADE for me ! 😅
It is a work horse not a show pony...I don't care if ALL the paint comes off...I use it.
From what I seen the finish will wear thru but does not flake. It is stuck on there !
Did Chris say what this wood will be used for?
It is to heat the farms work shop in the winter.
I was told not to split the logs so thick, they take longer to season.I would’ve split most of them again. That’s just me
A lot of that wood was in piles for several years already and most was dry already too.
Always more fun splitting in a group than alone.
Yup, big jobs are fun and go fast with a team!
Good morning
Morning other one!
They have an attachment on an excavator that limbs, but it also debarks?
Do you get wood like that? All debarked?
In the spring time tree processors can peal bark off pretty easy. But a lot of this wood and much of the oak I buy is dead standing trees that the bark has come off of already.
Yup, a lot of it!
Hello everyone
Hello Mr. Stanley!
Easton made eh
Yadarehey! she is that!
Lot's of wood, some of it looks like it laid too long.
There was some punky stuff, but it will all burn!
👍🏻👏🪓🪵
Thanks AGAIN!
Probably Newfoundland BLACK HORSE 🐎 should sent a flat for Bert son , for every beer 🍺 you drink 🍺 get you one ☝️ more horsepower per / pint 🍺 into him . Life is POOR in the 709 ! 😢😢
?
I hate when Chris attaches camera to his head. I want to puke every time he turns quickly.
Sorry about that.I will try to move slower.
Watching you guys using the "Biden" compared to the faster splitter was sleep inducing. But you got there...😴😄😁🤣
Yup, that is a good name for it, kinda slooooooooow!
Poor old firewood 🪵 cover into dirty , might get 1/2 price for a facecord on market place Chris . 😮
It's not for sale , it heats the shop and it was free...it will burn.
Pretty bad young guy can’t keep up with GRAMPS with WILLY’S firewood 🪵 in Maine . 😊
Didn't know it was a race. HE'S 14 and he cut wood all day and then we split all afternoon, he did well.
