      Please check out the Facebook page, “41 Great Lakes Shooters” for updated info. You can get rifles and reloading dies right now. Factory ammo is in the works as of Sept. 2024.

    The 41 great lakes promoting might get better traction if high shoulder shots are attempted when slinging all copper bullets on video. First impressions are important.

      I can tell you understand marketing and I agree. But, I also want to show people what the different bullets are going to do on live game.
      Take a look at the 10+ other kills I’ve got on here. There are many great high shoulder shots. But, you’ve gotta test different options so that people understand. All copper is my preferred bullet. But, it’s gotta be an expanding one. Many solids are promoted for hogs and even deer. I had to try some for myself. You see the results. I’m a high shoulder shot guy most of the time.

    What bullets were you using? I just finished loading some 350 Legend copper from Hammer, Lehigh Defense, and Barnes. Interested to see how they all compare.

    Not sure if common sense is how hunting laws are passed. You hunt coyotes with a 22-250 or 220 swiff in the lower part of Michigan. But are restricted for deer. On top of that people work to get more " performance " to beat the system. If the idea is safety than shot placement should be stressed. When in doubt DON'T shoot, there will be another time. Enjoy the woods.

      Common sense in passing laws?! Now that's funny! I wish they'd use common sense. You are exactly correct. We worked on the straight walled cartridge law years ago because ANY straight wall is allowed in a handgun. So we wanted to it to be universal across the board. We didn't get that but did compromise on a 1.8" maximum case length. Shot placement should always be stressed but knowing your target AND what's behind is the safety part of what needs to be taught to keep these rifles safe.

      So what you’re saying is even though virtually every other state can safely use bottlenecked cartridges the people of Michigan are not.

      @@soonerfrac4611yes, exactly. The all knowing government said we are not to be trusted with them below an imaginary line across the state. North of there, they are allowed. But, to be fair, there is a lot higher population and much smaller tracts of land in southern Michigan.

    • @soonerfrac4611
      @soonerfrac4611 Месяц назад

      Sounds like it’s time for a new government. As I said, every other state is capable of using a 300wm even on small properties and doing so safely. It’s either the government at fault or quality of the hunter. I guess could be both.

      I looked at the comments just because of this. I’m an avid hunter and I’m not sure how I feel about this topic. I guess because I’m not knowledgeable on this topic. Will the little ones be ok on their own? I understand we are doing population control. I also care about these animals and respect them and don’t want to see the little ones struggle. That won’t be the doe I harvest in the early season.

      After early July they’re weaned and survive just fine. Pretty much every doe has a fawn or two so we’d never be able to reduce the way over population in this area. Every single woodlot there’s a clear browse line, at least 2-3x the number of deer there should be.

    • @FullQuiverOutdoors
      @FullQuiverOutdoors  Месяц назад +2

      This is not true at all. It’s been proven time and time again through studies that orphaned fawns during the crop damage season survive just fine. We see them all fall long sticking together and doing great.

    • @FullQuiverOutdoors
      @FullQuiverOutdoors  Месяц назад +1

      @@MichaelHerron-n6sfawns will continue to feed from the mother from time to time until the mother doesn’t allow it anymore. So they’ll continue to have milk into the fall hunting season. If we follow your reasoning, we would never be able to take a doe because I’ve seen them still have milk in the last season of the year. Just read any of the studies on fawn mortality where qualified biologists studied this. Do you think the DNR biologists would setup this crop damage season if it starved all the orphaned fawns?! If you watch my videos, you’ll see many spotted fawns feeding on beans and corn.

    Pathetic! If it's too far to kill with one shot, DONT SHOOT! There's coming a time when hunting will be a thing of the past....and it ain't called gun control....it's called CWD.
