- Taking a look at the IAI Kfir C.7, the top-end fighter on launch day for the new Israeli aviation tree.
Yes, I know, I don't pronounce "kfir" entirely well, I asked one of my friends who speaks Hebrew to clarify it for me, but for whatever reason it just never comes out right when I say it - sorry.

The cryano radar is incorrect for this plane, hopefully the snail will fix it shortly. it should have the Elta EL/M-2021B pulse doppler radar originally developed for the Kfir C2.
not that it matters since it has no radar missiles...
@@LeNathDuNet Well, the AIM-9gs can slave, so .. it matters a little ... but still, less than it would with SARH weapons.
@@TimsVariety using say pd to slave missile lock would mostly shine on all aspect lauchs, which the 9g cannot do, maybe for bvr sho6s but with those you don t use pulse doppler anyway because of notching
@@TimsVariety small update. Gaijin, in their infinite wisdom have swapped out the French radar for the Elta EL/M-2001B. A basic ranging radar which maybe flew on the C2 but definitely DID NOT on the C7 ಠ_ಠ
Even though it lacks SARH missiles PD would be nice to identify low flying targets at range, especially with the new EC maps in RB.
as of update wings of change it now has a look-down radar set
So far for Israel I’ve completed the prop line, just grinding out the starter jets, may be an unpopular opinion but I really want the A-4N more than anything (I’m a huge A-4 fan) it’d be nice to see how an A-4 with Aim-9D’s do in a fighter role.

A4N is great
As much as I love the range Aim-9G's supply, I'm more fond of that range in simulator battles where people aren't constantly pulling 12G's every 3 seconds in a massive furball. Given the flight performance, this thing should me a menace in Sim if you have the skill to use it properly
I absolutely adore this plane! It's probably my third favorite, only behind the F-20 Tigershark and SR-71 Blackbird.
I'm probably gonna listen to a lot of Area 88 music while flying this (once I get it)
Also, fun fact: The Kfir featured in the anime movie series called Area 88, and was even used by the two main pilot to shoot some C-4 off the wing of a 747 (very fantastical situation)

Great one turn fighter but like every Mirage suffers in the two circle fight. Basically if one gets on your tail just keep pulling not too much though just enough to keep the Mirage at bay. But if you continue the turn longer enough the Mirage will eventually bleed off it's energy and you will begin to out rate it.
This is primarily for a 1v1 fight adding other enemy planes changes things.
The game needs a premium F-106 with the vulcan cannon
It has the Phyton3 now
I'm so keen for the Kfir. I love Israeli vehicles. I got the premium A4 for free by selling event vehicles. Gonna do the same for the Merkava
This is definitely an up close and personal plane. My kind of fighting.
The newest version is now coming to the Srilankan Airforce Kfir NG.
For my futur top tier tank line up i'll take A-4N and F-4E as CAS aircraft + an Apache once they get added
Just so you know the "canards" are actually strakes as they aren't movable like a stableator canards on the other hand are indeed flight control surfaces and rotate
Small detail but nice to know, technically the Kfir doesn't have canards, but rather winglets, seeing as canards usually move and winglets don't

The aircraft looks cool, the canards is the icing on the cake.. But that tier is just trash for me.. But it is fun to watch.

Its just my opinion but, i don’t think a good flight performance makes up for the total lack of radar missiles or any good dogfighting missiles. Am9g’s are hit or miss and are terrible at close range, which is where you will be with this plane. Im not proud of it but i did GE Israel to get this thing and after playing roughly 10-15 games, i can say its not competitive in the current metta of all aspect missiles, it cant take 2v1’s like the mld can, and it dumps way to much energy to be good for back to back turning engagements. Overall the lack of good missiles or radar is what holds this plane back. If you are reeding this, don’t pay to grind Israel. In fact I wouldn’t grind this nation for any jet, simply put its not worth it.
No offense but I’m very surprised it took you to actually play it to tell how it would be. After seeing it only got AIM-9Gs and no radar missiles, I already knew it needed to be at 11.0 when other 11.3 jets have radar missiles and Doppler radar (i.e. F-4J and Kai) then all aspect (i.e. MiG-23MLD). It’s the worst out of all the 11.3 jets. This imo is in the same spot at the J-7E. Where the J-7E could go down one tier (10.7), just like the Kfir should be 11.0.
I'd second the comment "don't pay to grind it" - but its a fun enough jet (in my opinion, anyway) to "regular" grind up the tree towards.
(Full disclosure - the snail gave it to me for free as a temporary rental through the content creator partner program)
Just wait for the more advanced variants, like the Nammer or the C10 with the Elta/2032 radar and Python and Derby missiles, that thing will definitely be able to "dance" with 4th gen fighter, whenever they add them.

Can you make a review of the f4j and also a guide of how to use better the aim 7f since its not similar to the a7e doghfight?
The AIM-7F is made for closer range cuz it turns better since it is slower than the AIM-7E-DF.

This update got me pissed cus they replaced the premium vautour in the french tree with A new identical one but then removed the 750 bombs from the Israel one and gave it 350 bombs like tf

Wonder how this thing matches up to the Viggen. It is 11.3 but the Viggen is 11.0 and looks like it performs way better. Maybe its only 11.3 because of its ground attack capabilities
The kfir has the best flight performance current in top tier
Viggen doesn't accelerate that good and can't sustain much turn without loosing a lot of energy, it is slighty worse in flight performance
@@SeekerHead I think ur wrong, u may just wanna test it with the j7e since the kefir is a delta wing .I doubt it’s gonna retain energy like the j7e . I tested the j7e against the mirage it pretty much has no chance u can try to reverse but if the j7e uses air brakes u can’t reverse it .

Actually no, at like 5k meters you can go mach 1.4 and easily dodge sparrows and aim7fs by making them turn

@@TheWhoamaters lol the rightful competitor for the kifir is the f-20 I think both came in 83 not sure but the f-20 would be wayy better it can carry 6 9L or 4 7f (even 4 aim120) has a Pd radar and f20 has like 40% or 60% more thrust than f5e.

Mirage 50 and Mirage F1 would be steps before the Mirage III NG, which had the avionics from the Mirage 2000, but the same engine as the two other planes.
All french jets before the Mirage 2000 are very low in AA missiles numbers, that's their real downside.

@@mudmud. i agree, the Magic is already one of the most effective IR missile, and the super R530 that would come with the later mirages would dwarf the current R530 in terms of speed and range.
We should still consider that both the 50 and the F1 don't have doppler radar, i don't know about the NG, and the early mirage 2000 variants still don't have it.
The earliest France get doppler radar is also when France get its MICA missiles on its Mirage 2000, with a capacity of 6 missiles, solving both the doppler radar and number of missiles problems, but that's too much gor the current meta.

In fact, did not buy it at all, I've only flown the IIIE on dev and test flights, and all I need to know about it is it still has the same flight model, which rips just as bad as MiG-19PT used to. That's a solid no for me.
You see, I do have 530 kills in Mirage IIIC with KDr 2.5 and over 350 battles, aced crew by merely playing it. Same story with J35D Draken, so you can't say I can't stand structural limitations at all or don't know a thing about Mirages and their place at top tier jets in general. Also lots of battles in MIGs (minus the 23, still grinding) and Phantoms (minus the Kai and Brits, still grinding). I wouldn't be surprised I have more Mirage experience in that single IIIC than an average decent top tier player has in both mirages combined, and I am confident that I'd beat a IIIE in my IIIC in 1v1 duel roughly 9/10 times. One doesn't simply merge with MyRage in anything but the Draken.
My Mirage play style revolves around flanking some 8-12 km off to the typical furball area on the map, jumping into the furball after the brawl initiates. Usually a well planned attack doesn't involve aggressive maneuvers, you just launch magics and that's pretty much it. But when someone notices you, that a challenge for Mirage. The key part of survival there is to notch/minrange the Doppler boys or put the nose on to the offending non-doppler aircraft, so either way they can't launch a missile at you.
When you do that in IIIE, it rips. You just can't control your attitude in relation to the enemy fast enough.
Another way of ripping the IIIE which doesn't rip IIIC at all is dodging a missile from 5-7 o'clock. Sometimes that happens, you know. In order to survive,ou have to drive it like you stole it, and it can't do that. For you to dodge an IR missile, you have to have enough speed and approx 500m altitude, start a rapid turn until the missile starts leading you or get too close to comfort, at which point you must break your flight path downwards as fast as you can, so the leading missile can't correct its trajectory enough to hit you while you roll up again to prevent CFIT.
IIIE manages to fail all stages of this maneuver: it snaps in a hard accelerated turn, it snaps when you add any roll into the turn even without any rudder, it snaps when you level off back again... You can kinda sorta compensate for that by dumping flares, sure, but they don't give you reliability: in some game version they work so well you barely have to turn, then a micro patch lands and they don't affect missiles at all.
Also rips in one circle 1v1, and can't do two circle due to anemic engine. You can ofc uninstall booster like good old F-86, but in this case a bloody MiG-21bis outturns you in one circle, all you have is speed bleed, and that is not a good thing. With TWR worse than IIIC... I just can't stand this abhorrent aircraft. J35D and IIIC are fun because they give you a challenge when you fight the enemy. Plan the engagement, stay with the team, stay alert for missiles (eyes better than RWR anyway) and all works great.
With IIIE you mostly fight your own aircraft... The only advantage of IIIE over IIIC I can imagine is it can use flares to avoid being clapped by R24T launched from MiG-23MLD. And maybe a tad bit easier to dodge R60M in it. But in my humble opinion, IIIC simply shouldn't fight 23MLD, as well as JA37C and EJ Kai, cause that's the issue of BR compression, not the aircraft itself.
Either way, I just can't enjoy that thing, can't blame me for that. It rips bad enough for me to invalidate IIIE as a fighter in this game, so I wouldn't invest my time in it even if got it for free, even without SL and lengthy grind, as long as it rips as bad as it does.
All that being said, IIIE is a gorgeous aircraft IRL. Such a shame it can barely keep itself intact in the air in war thunder.

I'm expecting a slight nerf in the future. The jet had a thrust increase of 5000lbs (18750) over the Mirage. It was fast, but the performance we're seeing is F-16 fast, which is most certainly is not. It doesn't even have the same T/W as the FGR.2.

I think it might be a language thing because kfir sounds like it should be pronounced as kefir to English speakers
The double consonant sound is awkward for native American English speakers, such as myself. I had a friend who speaks Hebrew try to help me with pronouncing Kfir correctly before I did this video, but I had trouble with the "swallow the k" sound, and I didn't want to sound like I was trying to make fun of Hebrew when I said it, so I chose to just pronounce it the "American English" way as best I could. I mentioned in the comment on the video that I had trouble with it - my apologies, its just a weird sound for my mouth. :-\

@@rpscorp9457 I asked an IRL native speaker of Hebrew friend of mine how to properly pronounce it. He told me it uses that "swallow the K" hard kh kind of sound that you pronounce in your throat at the start, and I'm really not good at that particular sound, and I didnt want to sound like I was mocking Hebrew. So ... there ya go. If someone else said it differently, thats fine too.
