I think Gaijin thinks it's more effort than it's worth trying to figure out how to have multiple naval aircraft take off from a carrier at the start, or how to balance nations which have more/less naval-capable aircraft. At least currently, Gaijin are fine with runway takeoffs, or side-stepping the issue with air spawns for things like seaplanes without landing gear.

At this point I feel like USA could go a full year and a half without receiving a single new top tier aircraft and still be competitive at top tier. Their power creep over the other nations has been insane.
Gaijin has a really odd aproach to the ground modes and ground radars in the game. From the sources I found, the AN/APG-70 should be able to not only to track moving targets but to, also, use the same functionality as the A-G mode in the Mi-8AMTSh-VN radar because, irl, it can use HRM to guide it's TGP the same way the Orion radar does now in the Su-24M. Even the kopyo-25 on the Su-39 had the capabilities to use HRM but in game you got only the GMTI.
Not only that, but it is missing 40mi of range, the APG-70 was supposed to be a better version of the AWG-9 in the F-14. They’re supposed to have 115mi of range, but even with multiple reports on both the F-15A/C/E
@@kennedy.nola_ And the APG-70 should be an X-band wave length too, which probably it isn't considering they even got the Mi-8AMTSh-VN radar band wrong too.

I thought we would get a Typhoon in that patch but seeing what F-15E has done with balance, Im not surprised we have to wait for a Eurofighter. Although, UK, Italy and especially Germany do need a new top tier fast. Gripen is good but it doesnt compare with the missile loadout
I just hope they model Typhoon’s flight performance in line with real world. If they do it should be pretty dominant over all other current top tier jets in game in a close in dogfight.

5:50 before latest mini patch WT Strike Eagle could break the F-15 speed record... with full anti air ordinance set no less. It was tweaked a little bit but as far as real match performance goes it changed nothing, there is nothing that can even compete Another patch another ridiculously overtuned US top tier, very cool! 👍
Iirc the only things the snail changed about it are the drag (it had none on dev and was increased by ~5% a day after the patch) and the thrust curve was tweaked to make this not a physics defying UFO (accelerating to mach 2.5 in a 9g turn was hilariously broken)

Nice review, the new F15 looks amazing for those who grind it out, or spend the Golden Eagles to unlock it. But every time the snail releases a new top tier, it makes the existing jets (especially the uncompetitive jets or bombers) an absolute missery to play. 😢

Sometimes they bunch up and get stuck, they drive underneath bridges (along the riverbed lol), they clip in and out of terrain becoming impossible to see or hit... that's not even mentioning how bases and airfields are so poorly placed onto maps where they float above the ground or have these weird, levelled-off edges where they've been built into the side of a mountain... hell, I saw a base yesterday built on top of a frozen lake....
Times like these are what makes me wish Gaijoob would focus more on WW2 and post-war hardware. Top tier is now determined by who has more (spaded) F-15Es slinging their AIM-120s.
I don’t disagree but I can also acknowledge that the player base at large acts a lot more hyped for “insert nation’s” next meta defining jet than any 40’s era aircraft that’s been added since the update that brought supersonics.
Theres still so much more stuff they could add to the mid-tiers ... I really hope they have an update or three focused on stuff they skipped along the way, but I suspect they're just chasing the payout from top-tier hype.
Howd you go with Locking targets Beyond 20km with the targeting pod? Ive been trying to get the GBU-39s on the F-16 to go longer than 20km because they very well can. But they either dive just short of the target or oddly enough pull back up, do a spin then leave the area
Sir! Question. When using my targeting pod and TWS simultaneously, I’ve noticed the pod will slave to an air target when I try to lock up a ground target, if there’s air targets in the scope. Additionally, when there’s a target in the TWS scope, I can’t use the map target feature either. It’s annoying. Is this a feature or bug? Either way it’s frustrating! Playing sim specifically, trying to lock up moving targets for AGMs. Thank you.
@ if I’m not mistaken that’ll trip others RWR, no? For that reason I just temp shut it down all the way while I’m targeting. Usually off, salvo of mavericks or GPS bombs, then fire it back up.
I finally got the F-111F a few days ago. Another week and I'll have the F-15E (i have a job and i like to touch grass sometimes so that's why it takes that long)

The game seems to have real issues in this area. Although in some weird tests I got to 112,000 feet, that was abnormal tests using a mod, in my real flying 40k ft seems to be something of a ceiling. The Lightning F6 should be 65000ft capable, but really can't get above 40k. People who spout about performance and so on seem to overlook some of these various limits. Most quoted top speeds in real life are under test conditions or special conditions. Most real world flying doesn't hit the top speeds claimed and most are claimed 'clean' so no load. And probably more things like low/light fuel loads etc.
I'm not sure. Before they nerfed it I was hitting Mach 2.55 with no cft and 6 amraams. Maybe something yo do with the game engine maybe? I would like to see historical performances for all jets including the the lighting thats another plane that's been done dirty in terms or performance. @@AdmV0rl0n

Let me know the last time he did a vid about a helicopter, or a prop bomber. If a few of us predicted the hype/buzz in the same order for a patch, that doesn't really mean anything.

Tim does deep dive reviews of anything that flies and has even covered a few tanks and battleships, plus all his new player tutorials. Defyn focuses on fighters, does play-by-play commentary, and only does air combat. Tim does everything, because his vids are reviews of the vehicle and how other people might want to use it. Defyn just shows off highscore air to air matches without considering that other players might not just be focused 1000% on air combat. At least a dozen WT youtubers use a similar thumbnail style with a picture of a vehicle with a logo and some text, that doesn't mean anyone copied anyone else. If you think Tim copied Defyn, then you must think Defyn copied BoTime, Sako Sniper, Justin, and DOLLAR. They are nothing alike. The only thing Tim and Defyn have in common is that they both play warthunder, but even with that Tim covers other games on his other channels. Go back to minecraft, kid.

Its not really a feature or a bug, its a limitation of the game engine.

JSOW is cluster. Gaijin doesn't have cluster munitions in game.

Kindof a poor-man's TALD. Not quite AS good as a true decoy, but it worked for me in multiple matches.
