Just a tidbit about Hermes crocodile skins, Hermes offers them in shiny or matte finish. But over time, shiny croc tends to get more matte or dull, but Hermes can take it in to have it “spa’d” to restore the shine. Vice versa happens to the matte croc, as it becomes shinier over time, likely from the oils of the skin and oxidization. PS. Hermes never uses patent leather or mock croc leather. They only real exotic skins which tends to develop patina over time depending on what material and finish they use. That specific patina explains why shiny croc gets more matte over time, vice versa for matte croc. Exotic skins in general tend to patina. Lizard skin and alligator has the same effect
