Yea I purchased sea moss (Wild Crafted Seamoss Raw - 100% Organic Irish Sea Moss Raw ) and found out it wasn't wild crafted as advertised. Also, it had all the signs of FAKE not naturally grown sea moss. I really wish I watched this video and paid more attention to the Amazon reviews. I am so grateful I found your video. I bought purple sea moss for the first time. I thought the the salt was mold. I almost threw it in the trash. I google "how should I store my raw sea moss" you video was first up. Yay!!! I learned that the purple is dehydrated in the dark and it should have look that I saw in your video. Thank you. Official sea moss on the list is bad when it comes to accountability. I wouldn’t recommend. My order didn’t come to me and instead of arguing about it not being her fault.. she didn’t even care to communicate. I have no reason to lie I just wanted a proper exchange. So 0 stars for me.
I use to look my own seamoss from the sea, it doesn't matter how its dried for me but the fact of the matter is that none of the seamoss I gathered carries salt, if there salt on your seamoss dent consume it.
Unfortunately most people buy fake seamoss and don't even know.
The reason some have salt is because it is not totally dehydrated. The salt is a preservative the way you preserve fish.. The longer you leave any thing in the sun the more dehydrated it be comes. If you dehydrate the pool sea moss, which came from the sea, the stems would be just as small as the wild seamoss. Now if you don't get the gelatin consisyency and the hint of the ocean you don't have seamoss. Good health to all.

Quality looks like it got worse. Mine came yellow/purple and full of sand/little shells.

good day, the amount of salt does not say whether its authentic or not.....im for Grenada where sea moss is grown...but not in a mad made pond its grown out in the ocean...the amount of salt it has depends on which part of the seas its grown, some areas are more salty than some.
People need to do more research before calling sea moss "real" or "fake". Everyone is an "expert" today. There are different kinds of seamoss.

@@sorhaindo1977 either way , pool grown “fake” sea moss usually contains a lot of salt and visibly thicker in size compared to wildcrafted sea moss. i’m sure she did her research.

Aye!! We purchased from the same vendor on Etsy!! My higher self just told me it wasn’t right and was “pool grown” I threw it in the trash and wasted like $30. I believe I even left a review stating that it was pool grown on their reviews 😭
You sound like a spiritual person...I love it! Try using a pendulum to test if a product you're going to buy will be beneficial for your body.

You have wild “crafted” and you have wild “harvested” which wildcrafted is still made in the ocean but people put them in farms and grows it which would be where they have a thick lining so it can be tied to something. Wildharvested is where the seamoss has no human intervention except for when divers go down in the ocean and get it

Pool sea moss would have no less minerals. Sometimes it’s better to get a product that you can afford than to not have it at all.

The purple seamoss you had wasn't deformed.. It can sometimes look that way when it is getting ready to reproduce. Its actually pretty good, just hard to blend smooth..

Yeah that “deformed” sea moss she had was just another species which is called Chondrus Crispus which is the real Irish moss. Most of us black folks are misinformed about the different species

If your getting benfits and not adding anything to it it dont matter.
Pool grown has less nutrients because it doesn’t get anything from rocks.
Can it be possible to make pool seamoss appear to be wildcrafted by physically removing as much salt particles as they can as well as putting it in a dehydrator for a bit?

I dont think that it's more potent because the sun is also putting stuff into the sea moss. It's pretty much the same. Where is the info that says purple is more potent then the gold
Same thing I was thinking... Both colors come from the ocean if they are both wild crafted!! Both of them are potent and not manipulated by MAN.

I bought a package from the supermarket,thinking it was the sea moss I was used to as a girl,but when I opened the package it was white and fluffy also a white dusty powder, I don't know if it was salt,anyways I washed it several times and put it into the water,as soon as the water became hot ,near to the boiling point the "sea moss" melted down completely and it turn to a gel, immediately I had my doubts and I discard of it.😊
Excellent video, very informative. I see you are from Snelleville. Just recently I purchased some Seamoss from YDFM and noticed it smelled like nasty ocean/fishy/swamp water. It’s from Vietnam and on the bottom of the bag it looks like rock salt. I washed it out three times with spring water, and just turned it into gel, surprisingly it is not brackish at all, as I guess I washed it well, but I’m wondering if it’s even worth keeping or just trashing it out and buying what you have. This seamoss is very thick.

Great vid. Should purple sea moss becoming like gel after soak over night and blending in water just like the gold sea moss? Because I noticed that it didn't turn gel . So I'm not sure if it's poor quality

I like your video. What's a different between Irish sea Moss and other sea Moss from other part of the world?
The difference is the species, one is gracilaria (which is the common one sold in black communities) and the other is Chondrus Crispus which is the actual Irish moss. Both are good for you and contain minerals

WILD HARVESTED is the most difficult to get, thats the type that has no human intervention, WILD CRAFTED is real seamoss but it does have intervention, it is not attached to rock its tied to a rope by humans and farmed in the ocean. Wild harvested is not going to expand and will not have that thick main vain running thru it, wild crafted will swell 3 to 4x its dried size and it will have a thick main vain with small ones branching off of it

No just because the product has sea like additives does not make it authentic. Some put seaweed and shells to help authenticate their product.
Looks like Saint Lucia seamoss. It’s not wild crafted though.
Hello there, thank you for making this video. I just had a quick question. Irish Sea moss is originated in the Atlantic Ocean aka and/or Ireland. Other sea moss is made and is originated in other islands like St. Lucia but that is not considered “Irish” sea moss. You were raised in Uk so can I find “Irish sea moss” from Uk? Thank you.

i guess it’s called fake sea moss because it doesn’t provide nearly as much nutrients as the wildcrafted sea moss. so if you purchased it for that reason, it’s basically useless.

There are different species of seamoss. Green, purple, brown, gold, blond. Thin. Thick.

There’s nothing wrong with that other seamoss. It’s different from different areas. But yes, some people do pool grown seamoss. But it’s not fake seamoss.

No salt but it will have residue, other types of algae or sand things of that nature. The salt is a no no

The purple look like more of the Chondrus crispus to me not fake
One more thing, SEA MOSS is amazing and we need to remember that we must share it with the SEA animals that consume it. So if we can grown it as a mass like we do we with grapes then whats the problem?
