www.wowwiki.com/Cairne_Bloodhoof read this it tells you plus cairne got pissed how garrosh was makeing the horde bad so he challened garrosh a battle to the death and cairne almost won however that evil grimtotem women messed garroshs weapon so when garrosh hit carine he died so it was a uneven fight but I CANT WAIT TO SEE GARROSH DIE IN WARLORDS OR DRENOR
It wasn't for 'no reason', though. From the very start Garrosh was designed to be a character that stirred up and ultimately pissed off players from both the alliance and horde...he insults Voljin and the trolls, harasses the Forsaken, and downright hates the blood elves. But the best way to establish him as a douchebag was to kill Cairne, who was well loved and even admired by many among the alliance and the druids.
+Mike Zilla Yes, Magatha Grimtottem poisoned Garrosh's axe. Even after the duel was over, when Garrosh found out that his axe was poisoned he was really really pissed. His "pride" was in the dirt and people tought he knew about the axe beeing poisoned. But he didn't, and he regreted as much as everyone else the fact that he "won" the duel in a unfair way. Also, Craine challenged Garrosh to mak'ora in the old ways (to the death) so in this part of the story, Garrosh did nothing wrong. Also eveything that people acused Garrosh that made Craine mad and challenged him (the murder of some night elves in ashenvale and the death of tauren and night elf druids) was in fact the hand of the Twilight Hammer Cult. Everything is explained in "The Shattering", I encourage you all to read that book, it's prior to the Cataclysm expansion. It's really really awesome, and it gives alot of answers
This was playing in my head when Baine Bloodhoof performed a ritual in War Crimes, the latest WoW novel, to summon his father's spirit to ask for help and guidance when he was asked to defend Garrosh Hellscream in his trial. I cried when Cairne was back briefly and then... When he told Baine to decide for himself what to do, I kept crying when he disappears right afterward and Baine was saddened again v_v
Its pretty awesome that a game can have such a profound effect on people. The music especially. Nerds of the world unite to savor and enjoy the lore and awesomeness of WoW. Zelda OOT is the only other game I can think of that has done that. Well done Blizzard, truly well done
Doing your first quests in Thunder Bluff will always be something special. The soundtrack in the background while you hunt down wolves and such. Good times, good times.
@Skabur123 I do feel bad when they kill off all the most important characters we all know and love...., BUT....looking at it from a different angle:Story line moves forward and that makes room for new awesome characters.Illidan,Arthas,Cairne and all the rest had their time.As much as i love them ,i dont wanna be stuck with the same chars for years And ofc we have Baine now, who seems to be just as kickass as his dad I did quests for him before he was famous...yyyyeeeaeaahhh....
Taurens are the most noble race in Azeroth. They are the only race beside trolls i fully respect. Orcs are too bloodthirsty and undeads are.... well they are too dead. Goblins only are interested in money(like most of the people are today) and belfs are too stupid. Thunder Bluff is the most beautiful city in the whole of Azeroth and Mulgore is the most beautiful zone in Azeroth
Why did they have to kill Cairne I mean Baine is cool in all but why do we have to lose a great leader let's just blame his death on the alliance.......... R.I.P. greatest leader of all time Cairne Bloodhoof.
@nintendo5998 Blood Elves are too stupid? Are you making these comments based on appearances and stereotypes, or do you actually know any of the lore? I'm going to go with appearances and stereotypes.
they may not believed in "god" per say, but they did believe in the Great Spirit, and they had their own 10 commandments :) i have a link if u want it so ull know im not bullshitting lol
@vjehshta He got pissed at Thrall's succesor Grom's son and challenged him to a duel to the death. Unknown to Garrosh, Grom's son, his blade was poisoned and there was no fight at all.
my favorite race are the orcs. When they lived on draenor thy were peaceful, too. But then came the demons. I think the orcs have the most horrible story an that is a thing what makes me loving this race.
This music makes me proud to be a Cherokee-Scotsman. The Bagpipes can suck it, just give me some woodwinds any day of the week when I'm on a long journey through open grasslands.
They had a wide variety of different beliefs and practises. Belief in the Great Spirit (or Wakan Tanka to Siouan nations) was more prevalent among Plains Indians, however it'd be incorrect to liken it to God as understood by Abrahamic religions. Indeed, a more accurate translation of Wakan Tanka would be Great Silence or Great Mystery. That said, Christianity quickly became popular among NAs. The Vatican Secret Archives even has a letter from one tribe thanking the Pope for sending priests.
my first toon was a Tauren warrior the Tauren will always hold a special place in my heart as will Cairne. Read The Shattering you will see that Cairne was killed by a poison that was added to Garrosh's axe in a duel issued by Cairne himself {though it was Garrosh that made it a duel to the death} by the Elder Crone Magatha Grimtotem who has been after Cairnes head for many years now in hopes to lead the Tauren herself. May your spirit forever walk in the Earth Mother's good graces
R.I.P. noble Cairne of the Bloodhoof Tribe and High-Chieftain of the Tauren.You have led your people with honor and wisdom through the good times and the bad,you offered the Horde hospitality and friendship in a world that hates and reviles them, allowing us a chance to grow and mature into what we are today, your people hold a special place of honor among the Horde and are invaluable allies, know that your people and the Horde are safe from the Crone and her schemes, Lok'tar ogar!!! old friend.
theres a track im looking for, its similar to this one, but more melodic. It plays frequently at crossroads and underwater in thousand needles, any1 know the name?
@nintendo5998, I'm a dwarf and love them. but I have to say Tauren and Night Elves are the most noble races in Azeroth, since they're not pillagers like the Orcs or Humans, or only interested in money as you said like the Goblins, but each race has its specialty, and I think that accepting those specialties is apart of playing that race.
@MichaelTGrooff I do agree when Wow started and when i had my lvl 8 warrior Thondor. I remember walking Thunder Bluff getting on the lift and stepping foot in the most peaceful city in Wow. What a Thing Wow was until Wrath. Then everything got out of hand. They messed up the gear and the bgs and introduced boa! that took the Fun out of pvp. I remember having a 29 Orc Prot Warrior with 10k. And went to ThunderBluff to clear my mind of everything and that was how it was.Then Cata and ruined it
I have to admit, even as a predominantly Alliance player, the Tauren have a special place among my fave races (Hell, I've already got my own Shu'halo Shaman and Sunwalker :P)
no no no the orcs aint blood thirsty or bad they are just honorable warriors in battle and belves aint stupid at all just look at their story and u will see the horde vs the aliance isnt a battle of good vs evil its just two groups of races fighting to solve their diffrences thats all
I still hate they killed Cairne for no reason.

***** Magdha killed him if I remember right. And that was certainly not for no reason...still very sad, though.

"May the earth mother smile upon you"
I have to right an essay from the point of view of a native American, and this is really helping

Rest in peace Great leader of the Tauren race, Cairne Bloodhoof. You will not be forgot for the true members of the Horde.
If I would live in Azeroth then yeah agreed I'd love to live among Taurens, and in our world with Native American tribes.
Love the music.
thunder bluff is my safe space
AWW NOO. I only PLayed Warcraft 3 and a bit of wow. I loved Cairne in WC3 but i didnt see him in WOW WHY DID HE DIE :(
@Skabur123 I do feel bad when they kill off all the most important characters we all know and love...., BUT....looking at it from a different angle:Story line moves forward and that makes room for new awesome characters.Illidan,Arthas,Cairne and all the rest had their time.As much as i love them ,i dont wanna be stuck with the same chars for years

@smokeone555 They probably thought that the blood elf city isn't old enough to get new music.
Why did they have to kill Cairne I mean Baine is cool in all but why do we have to lose a great leader let's just blame his death on the alliance.......... R.I.P. greatest leader of all time Cairne Bloodhoof.
I don't play WoW anymore, but I can't stop remembering the plains of Mulgore and the Tauren Capital City...
pfff damn bro you quit when MoP came out... best expansion ever lol
@nintendo5998 Blood Elves are too stupid? Are you making these comments based on appearances and stereotypes, or do you actually know any of the lore?

i love how all the horde factions have very tribal roots except maybe the goblin and the forsaken
Wait, you respect the trolls, but the orcs are too bloodthirsty? Dude, the trolls prolly wrote the book on how to be proper bloodthirsty...
@Vaerryn He was the biggest and most badass motherfucker in Warcraft lll
R.I.P Cairne Bloodhoof
Tauren=Hippy
BE=Junkie
Troll=Maniac
Orc=Short-tempred
Goblin=Selfish
Undead=misanthropist
@StationaryHawk lol blood elves are the smartest other than gnomes (but theyre junkies :P)
@ShadowDancerr Play it again you know u want to
Umm what about Night elves? They are like Taurens.. Peaceful and everything
Oh come one guys, you all got to admit the original music was much better!
my favorite race are the orcs.
When they lived on draenor thy were peaceful, too.
But then came the demons.
I think the orcs have the most horrible story an that is a thing what makes me loving this race.
@Quingu89 Who's God? Theirs? Sucks what happened to Native Americans.
misanthropist means hating humans, but yeah evrything fits
Why do you think, that the blood elves are too stupid?
No undead is phsycopoathic
@Tanoking01 Maybe so, but Thrall was better.
@Tanoking01 Garrosh isn't a great Warrior.
it is good but original is better
Tauren Druid til the day i die.
@Vaerryn The great leader of Taurens was slayed by Garrosh by an ''accident''. But the spirits of the Taurens great leader will never be forgotten!
This music makes me proud to be a Cherokee-Scotsman. The Bagpipes can suck it, just give me some woodwinds any day of the week when I'm on a long journey through open grasslands.
So Taurish /;
@thorys1 yup

i remember back the day when i played warcraft3 2004 year i helped Cairne to pass 1000 needless and becoming the great Tauren Chieftan ..
All the Horde cities have such bad ass sound tracks. Not just now in Cataclysm, but always had
@MichaelTGrooff

There's so much sadness in it.
I have to admit, even as a predominantly Alliance player, the Tauren have a special place among my fave races (Hell, I've already got my own Shu'halo Shaman and Sunwalker :P)
GRRRR. It's Tauren not Taurens.
That's like saying Worgens instead of Worgen(plural).
@xBeastMimicryx yep...found it long ago, search for cataclysm soundtrack - tauren
I gotta use Thunder Bluff instead of Orgrimmar in cataclysm after i heard this one !
if you look back to the lore of orcs you will see that only thrall was the non-bloodthirsty warchief of orcs...ever.
i dont play wow anymore , but i love the soundtracks , and every night before i sleep i listen to some wow soundtracks :)
@Quingu89 The spirit blesses you too.
HEREHERE!
To me, Night Elves and Tauren are rivals in wisdom.
