I watched many of people (from different countries) who hated it at first (some even throw up 🤮), into tolerable, like, or even craving 🤤

As an indonesian myself i really love durian foreiners dont like the durian bc they cant stamd the smell but the taste is really good bc they said it is bad bc durian bc it only grow on tropical places such as indonesia and malaysia bc they dont have winter or autum so the place habe to have no winter and autum at all.

Durian is a Love Hate relationship, you either love it or hate it. It all comes down to how your Brain perceives the smell - whether it is uniquely a Durian smell which is an edible food or a myriads of rotten smell which will be perceived as inedible.
The more careful or wary you are when trying it, tends to make it worse due to your brain trying to determine whether it is edible or not and in the process your brain will associate it with anything that smell simillar and project it to you. By that time, you won't be able to eat it anymore cause your Brain had determined it is rotten and hence inedible. Watch your video again and you would know why your partner liked it while you didn't. LOL
Durian is a hearty fruit and have "hot" property, it can cause your body to dehydrate faster and heat up afterward if eaten too much. People in the old days used to drink water with a bit of salt using the durian husk as to prevent this. Why the husk? I think it is just convenient.

Durian in Bali very hard to find. If you go to North Sumatra, they're easier to find. Also, i like durian. There's one sell as ice cream but i forgot which city. it's so good.

Durian have different varieties to, some have have bitter, sweet, creamy and sour for over ripe durian usually people will make tempoyak with it (in semenanjung) not sure what Indonesian do with over ripe durian. Cheers 👍 from Malaysia.
Agreed with that one. Well in indonesia itself, there many varieties of foods that used durian as the topping or the ingredient also. Some of them like "martabak manis durian, kolak durian, Ketan durian or even ice cream", but ofc there are some people who also don't like this type of fruit, not only the foreigners but most of people here love durian lol, so yeah. Almost same with coffee, i mean coffee is blacky, not sweet (i forgot how to say pahit), but that's make you day feel good, durian is smelly but taste sweet, flavoured and yummy.
Do you eat 'Jengkol' and 'Petai sambal' too? They are smelly food but taste good, i can only eat them with a bowl white rice not put other food on my bowl.

People says durian is either u hate it like hell or lovin it crazy, theres no in between about durian. 100.000 idr for 1 piece of durian is too overprice tho and looks like the durian isnt ripe already. Maybe next u can travel to Medan and enjoy the finest durian at Ucok Durian, some famous durian stall in Medan, North Sumatra.
Tried Durian with orange color not creamy maybe you can enjoy it. Durian have many variants, I like durian and each person have different tastes.

@@isabelleandflo different variety and you can search Durian Lay on youtube, not much different with durian creamy but the texture is good. Hopefully u can enjoy it than creamy ones, but if it's still the same is okay then, no need to try another variant because Durian Lay better texture than any other variant of durian.

I don't think you pay too much for the durian, because it's not the season for the fruit, that's why you are hard to find it now. When Desember to March that's the season. For that size about 80K depends on the quality, area, species, etc

yes that is too expensive 100k for a durian, maximum 50k... plus, this is not a durian season. you should bargain anything you wanna buy here in indonesia (except in supermarket and warung, LOL).
Durian does not recommend for someone has a high blood sugar, obesity and gastritis problem (could make your stomach bloated). Maybe that's why the woman said don't drink coke....

@@isabelleandflo for my own healt care, u see, durian is actually contain alcohol in it, and thats because the fruit contain alot of sugar when they ripe, and the reason why it smell so bad is becuase they actually get fermentized. The reason of the fermentized durian is because the way how they harvest it, they wait till it falls from the tree by it self. the fruit fall when the branch is get old and weak enough to snap cause of gravity, this give time for the fruit to start fermentized them self (also when they hanging at the store as well). And thats why durian smells like dead animal/stinky gym socks/pungent garlic/etc, also the reason of the texture of it and the tasty taste, sweet, sour (a bit) yet bitter (cause by the alkohol in it) and thats why the goverment not allowed me to eat 3 whole durian at once.
Althoug i had eat like 5 small durian at once, but i guess that doesnt count 😁😅
Oh btw, a good durian is supposely warm, dominantly sweet follow by bitter and not sour.

It is the best. I miss it so much. You can buy it frozen in The Netherlands, but that is not the same.To me the mouth feel is like a custard to me. Don't eat to much. It is heavy on the calories. When the Durian is in season you could buy one for rph 50.000(december 2019)

The scientific reason why she don't like durian because her brain olfactory sensors didn't recognize the smell, so her brain tried to interpret the smell to the closest smells or noxious smells in her memory, like fruity, skunky, metallic, rubbery, burnt, roasted, onion, garlic, sulfur, turpentine, etc. So brains like mind lump durian into the "do-not-eat-category". This first attempt could repeating on another attempts because her brain already categorized the fruit "accidentally" into "do-not-eat-category". This is what we call as "brain lies", because durian is actually an eatable fruit.
And the reason why he likes durian, because he focused on the taste, even he smell it first. And the taste that his tongue felt, send stronger message to his brain about the "fruit components", and his brain captured the unharmful taste, happy taste (sweet), and other specific tastes makes his brain excludes "durian smell" from all smells in his memory, and categorized the durian smell into a "new-smell-category".
