The fact is that the organizers of this show invited Dimash as a "dark horse" to enliven the competition a little and show the Chinese participants "foreign" singing. Many years ago, I sang professionally and every time I hear Dimash sing, I am holding my breath with him and I can feel my body temperature increase just as it did when I was on stage. Thanks for the reaction. The SOS version from the festival Slavianski Bazaar, Vitebsk, is his best in my opinion, every note is so perfect that it's almost, but just almost, artificial! But when you see the man singing, follow his expressions, gestures, hand movements, position ... You feel this is real and literally visceral. This is my favorite reaction to Dimash so far! You didn't say you are a vocal coach, but you obviously have studied and understand much about technique and how various tones are produced. I don't think English is your first language because you speak it better than we Americans do (and you don't sound British) and your articulation is exquisite. Your pronunciation is perfect, crisp and clear - and as a bonus you speak Mandarin! Dimash sings in several languages and SOS is in French. He is a world treasure and I think I'll follow you as you discover his even wider range of singing styles and abilities. So far, SOS is either 1st or 2nd on my favorites list and Ogni Pietra would be the other one.
Dimash is unique to say the least. He has a 6 Octave plus 2 half notes range. He started his vocal training at age 5 years old. If I understand correctly he never missed a class. His first class his Grandmother was told he had perfect. Each performance Dimash makes is unique, showing us different abilities & levels of skill. He sings every genre he wants. Enjoy this journey, I know for me it has been incredible. I listen to Dimash everyday.

He has been so gifted by God and has been so diligent from a very young age to develop that talent and then present it to the world in such a mature, wholesome, loving and very humble manner. Thank you Max. I have been a Dear back in 2017 couple months after the Singer ended, this was the video I first saw Dimash. He won several awards in China. Dimash has Mandarin songs if you like to listen. "The Crown", which is the Chinese version from his Kazakh song Kim Eken. Meaning of Eternity. War and Peace which he wrote the lyrics first in Kazakh then was translated into Mandarin. Dimash has composed and written his songs as well. More Mandarin songs are Only You, Eternal Memories, and Ocean Over Time etc. I do recommend you check out his music videos. The Love of Tired Swans, Know, Across Endless Dimensions, My Swan, Screaming etc. Dimash's vocals has widen my understanding of how many techniques there are in singing. The Dimash Journey is a great one.

When you hear later video with this song his voice is even more fluid. There are only two voice couches so far I have come across that could explain how he could sing all this. Sadly he didn't win the competition, was 2nd which I was surprised as well. I started to listen to the winner now, she is good no doubt, but somehow did not move me like Dimash. So far, at age of 46 I never had a singer that I adored....when I heard Dimash I was looking for all the songs he has performed and also comments on his performances . I never thought I say or even think this, but he has dethroned Elvis as the best entertainer and talent in the world. I'm 75 and heard many great singers in my life-time but Dimash far outshines them all. God has given him a great gift.

He is an absolute sweetheart and that is his natural, genuine attitude, no playing. So no worries. He was being very supportive towards the other competitors during the show by the way.

Dimash is unique to say the least. He has a 6 Octave plus 2 half notes range. He started his vocal training at age 5 years old. If I understand correctly he never missed a class. His first class his Grandmother was told he had perfect. Each performance Dimash makes is unique, showing us different abilities & levels of skill. He sings every genre he wants. Enjoy this journey, I know for me it has been incredible. I listen to Dimash everyday.

He has been so gifted by God and has been so diligent from a very young age to develop that talent and then present it to the world in such a mature, wholesome, loving and very humble manner. Thank you Max. I have been a Dear back in 2017 couple months after the Singer ended, this was the video I first saw Dimash. He won several awards in China.
Dimash has Mandarin songs if you like to listen. "The Crown", which is the Chinese version from his Kazakh song Kim Eken. Meaning of Eternity. War and Peace which he wrote the lyrics first in Kazakh then was translated into Mandarin. Dimash has composed and written his songs as well.
More Mandarin songs are Only You, Eternal Memories, and Ocean Over Time etc.
I do recommend you check out his music videos. The Love of Tired Swans, Know, Across Endless Dimensions, My Swan, Screaming etc.
Dimash's vocals has widen my understanding of how many techniques there are in singing. The Dimash Journey is a great one.

You probably didn't know he lost his voice a day before he needed to perform this song in competition. When you hear later video with this song his voice is even more fluid. There are only two voice couches so far I have come across that could explain how he could sing all this.
Sadly he didn't win the competition, was 2nd which I was surprised as well. I started to listen to the winner now, she is good no doubt, but somehow did not move me like Dimash. So far, at age of 46 I never had a singer that I adored....when I heard Dimash I was looking for all the songs he has performed and also comments on his performances . I wanted to know what professionals were thinking about his singing since I don't have musical background.

Dimash, apart from his alien vocal abilities, is such a humble, down-to-earth, modest person he would never think of you as of an unworthy person. He is an absolute sweetheart and that is his natural, genuine attitude, no playing. So no worries. He was being very supportive towards the other competitors during the show by the way.
