Arirang does not have much patriotism in it and is simply a Korean folk song , and it was used in the Olympics because it is neutral and a part of history both Koreas share

I am South Korean, and hope for a democratic unification, but even so the North Korean Aegukka is still amazing and I hope it is preserved throughout the future, whatever may happen to my brothers up north.
I wish for a new People’s Republic of Korea with a free like government like it is still today but some left wing style themes while remaining free and happy, combining greatness of South Korea’s Democracy, and the north’s own good stuff everything has a good side and will utilise each side to create a perfect Korea unified and awesome

조선(Joseon/Chosŏn) in South Korea means the old country which had ruled for 600 years since late 1300s until 1900s in Korean peninsula, but in North Korea, it refers NK itself.
역사(Yeoksa) is spelling in South Korea, 력사(Ryeoksa) is spelling in North Korea.
