  • Tracker Grizzly 1848 pods install. This was a cool little project. As always it turned out great! I did have a little trouble with the top inside corner joints, but we got it straightened out. Its wierd they dont run the transom braces all the way across. They were literally only where the motor was mounted. This is a cool boat. I wish I could have water tested it, but no time for it. Incase anybody was wondering this job was $550

    Ya, that front water scoop and dipped deck. That would be annoying. Heavy motor for that partial transom. I would spent a little more and have a full transom installed. Clean install and welds.

    My express cracked at the main support bracket and hull x2 just weld it back up and rock on I also 3”alum angle hammer d out a bit ran down the Kiel so I can beach it I’ve cracked into x2. Pretty hard on it but in all after 20 years she’s been a great boat still my primary fishing hunt rig w 60 Yamaha tlra 2 stroke 02 so she’s a 200 lb 60 hp if I put a 90 on it I would probably need pods 1680 Has Avery camo rack system to. Over her up.

    Thinking about adding boxes and plating my 60ho up still runa prop. I have a grizzly 1860 and it has a full transom that is for sure cored, also the boat is not bent down or in at the front like that boat is, also those white foam blocks are not factory, stuff has been removed my dude.

    Fantastic video and walk thru. Do the pods add any strength to the back since is metal sheeting. To me it seems when it is in the water, that would add an upwards stress. Am I wrong and over thinking and the damn things make it more sturdier all around? Educate me. Those will really look nice if he paints them up as well. As always, great video.

      Thanks. Yes, it adds support and helps with buoyancy. They are tricky tho. It has to have the perfect weight distribution or the pods will work against you.

    Do you think it's possible to add pods to a fiberglass skiff it's a 14 foot and could use the extra flotation was thinking to powdercoat them and thrubolt them on with 5200 to seal the holes properly in theory I could see it helping alot but nervous to open a can of worms lol

      I definitely advise against bolting on pods. If it fiberglass why not fiberglass them on?

    Are the Pods strong enough to where you could mount the Trolling motor or a talon on the pod?

    • @TRICKEDTINS
      @TRICKEDTINS  Год назад

      Solid as a rock. I would recommend reinforcement for talon, or tm tho.

      @@TRICKEDTINS I understand them speed dating fish guys but it's not just them. I've used a jon boat all of my life and never been full tilt. In using a 5hp Merc right now and thoroughly enjoy it because it's better than a troller which is better than paddling which is better than hoping the tide turns
