I think you have the only video that shows how to take off the active grille shutters. I appreciate it.
Appreciate that. Hope it helped!
Thanks a ton! I need to get to the horns and wires in order to install some big boy horns. Figured out the top pieces easily enough but the bottom filler piece and bolts weren't so obvious.
Dude....you are own to something! I enjoyed the video and I don’t even have that year with that style grille lol. Keep it up bro! People are looking for this type of stuff. Looks dope btw!!
KickinItWithQ Appreciate that so much man! Thank you! More than you know!
Thanks for the tutorial. I used it help me get the grille off of my 2020 King Ranch so I could put on a bug screen on the back of the grille. Actually mine came off easier than yours did. They must have addressed the side skirts and front painted trim as they came off quite easy. The screen will do a good job keeping the radiator clean and free of bugs. Thanks again.
Glad this helped! There are much easier grilles out there to take out. This one has a lot to it.
@@CrandallEquipment Yes it does. Thanks again.
Just FYI, You don't need to take the grill off to change the headlight bulbs. You can just turn the wheels out and take off the front half of the wheel well and it's so much easier
Heck yeah man! This video is much appreciated I just got my new grille in and had no clue how to do it. Thank you for this man!
Austin Mayo I’ve found myself in the same situation many times! That’s why I make them! Glad you appreciate it!
Make sure it’s not too cold outside because the plastic becomes rigid and hard to release
Great video! So detailed and educational!
Much appreciated! There was a need for a detailed removal video and I hope the need is now filled!
pro tip : you can watch movies on Kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Chaim Gael Yea, I've been watching on KaldroStream for years myself :D
@Chaim Gael Definitely, been using KaldroStream for since november myself :D
Thanks man 👍
My 2019 f150 has two bolts on each side holding the trim piece on.
Do you know if the inserts that the top and bottom bars are in come out easily?
If I am answering this correctly, they should pry out fairly easy. Again, if I am answering this correctly, there should be a torx bolt at both ends and the middle section prys out. Meaning the plastic bars on top and bottom of the main grille piece.
Those 4 bolts that hold on the active shutters screw into retainer clips that fall into the front grill when you loosen them - how did you get them fastened again?
If I am understanding your issue correctly, I did not have any issues with the active shutter instillation.
@@CrandallEquipment In order to get the retainer clips back up to the studs on the active shutters, I ended up having to remove the painted frame of the grill - just putting this here in case anyone else runs into this issue.
@@briankalwat7613 that’s probably why I didn’t run into that issue. I took the painted piece off to paint.
@@CrandallEquipment ah that makes sense - I ended up at your video just to remove the grill to get the emblem off to paint - it was super helpful, thank you!
@@briankalwat7613 thank you. I appreciate it! I’m glad it worked for you.
Hey man did you do any primer or adhesion promoter under the base coat color?
I put a coat of grey sealer under the base
You did not cover the fan assembly at all correctly. I’ve taken everything out you said and the thing is still hooked in by something
It came out for me no issue. I wish I knew how I could help.
@@CrandallEquipment I got it out I didn’t see it was clamped in sort of. Problem is when I put it back on the back plastic pieces for the four bolts three of them fell down inside it so I could only
Bolt one back up. Hoping that doesn’t make it break.
How did you get those clips off so easy?
Which ones?
The ones holding the grille to the assembly. On the back of the grill. Looks like you are using a flat head but some of mine won’t budge
@@markreimer2897 around the 19:40 mark in the video?
Yes
@@markreimer2897 make sure the T25 screws are out on the ends. The trick to getting those off is applying pressure to the part you are removing. Start from the end and put pressure on the grille as if you are taking it off. The release tabs are held on by one side that overlaps the assembly that “clips” in. I use a small flat head screw driver to separate the tabs (separate the grille from the assembly). When one tab unclips, keep pressure on and move to the next one, keeping constant pressure on the part you are taking off.
