  • After his vote-buying pledge to forgive student debt was decisively struck down by the United States Supreme Court, Joe Biden as decided to ignore that minor inconvenience and is out there pitching it again, meaning the current Democratic plan to hold the White House in 2024 is:
    1. Giveth
    2. Taketh Away
    3. Giveth Again
    4. Repeat until re-elected

    Student loan forgiveness is a slap in the face to me *personally* I'm still in school. I didn't take loans, or rely on mommy and daddy's money. I worked, attended part time, moved halfway across the country and got a new job and a new school so I could pay for it. Now you want to stick me as a taxpayer with the bill of a bunch of do nothing college pukes that got useless degrees? Now I'm paying for a million other's college as well as my own?

      Me too. Originally, I studied music and borrowed money. When I realized I wouldn't get a job with that, I worked and went back to school for a more useful degree without borrowing any more money. That time, it took me four years for a Masters degree because I worked and went part time. Then I spent another 18 years paying off my student loans.

    The federal government took over student loans not to make it something they dole out, but rather, student loans have a finite amount of forbearance and deferments one can receive before one is in default. Once the government took it over, I’ve seen forbearance and deferments extended to unlimited ends. This virtually eliminates the risk of defaults which makes the economy look healthier that it really is.

    • @Lightning613
      @Lightning613 Месяц назад

      Government guaranteed student loans are a scam.
      They charge top interest and amortize the loans that the borrowers have to pay on for ten to fifteen years before they start actually paying down any of the principal.
      🤔 hence why so many liberal arts ‘students’ have no concept of what they are signing for.

    In one defense, I have two coworkers who will never be able to pay their school loans back. One guy has paid more in interest than the principal and still technically owes more than what he borrowed. The other has had his wages garnished and the payments are set up to never have the loan paid back.
    So while I am against a general loan forgiveness policy, there are some cases that I’m ok with it

  • @RPSchonherr
    @RPSchonherr Месяц назад +6

    Scott, it's interest. It doesn't have to be repaid by anybody. A student borrows $40k but because of the government finagling now has a $100k loan to pay that would have only been $60k if Obama didn't fuck with it. If Biden forgives that $60k of interest caused by the government, the student still owes the $40k he borrowed.

    • @bobhotchkiss2438
      @bobhotchkiss2438 Месяц назад

      The interest isn't just magically dissappearing. It's being paid off to the banks that are holding that debt. This isn't welfare for the borrowers, it's welfare for the banks that the borrowers are failing to pay. People need to quit assuming he's doing this for the borrowers. He isn't.

    • @bigk4755
      @bigk4755 Месяц назад

      If Jobozo’s is only forgiving the interest portion of these loans, then I will assume that taxpayers will be paying off that interest? Because I am sure that the banks won’t just surrender any of that profit that they were counting on.

  • @RPSchonherr

    Jewish law says that every 7 years all debts are forgiven.

    • @RPSchonherr
      @RPSchonherr Месяц назад +5

      If that was current law, you would see a lot less loans going out. Who would loan money to someone if it couldn't get paid in 7 years?

    • @ruthyk7083
      @ruthyk7083 Месяц назад +2

      The only way that works is if it's in the law prior to issuing the loan and there's an understanding that based on the analysis before issuance of a loan that it is responsible or basically a charity. Also it's not issued by government or banks. But from one individual to another with a contract drawn by a court. There are also ways to override. And the loan has to be freely given. You can't tax a loan from citizens to give to a person of the governments choosing. So no these debts by Jewish law cannot be absolved. As our great sages have expressly said, socialism/Communism is theft. And theft is one of the 3 things that caused global destruction. It's also one of the reasons sadom and gamora were destroyed. Judaism absolutely doesn't permit this. It's a terrible sin that will lead to the destruction of any society and country according to our oldest and most mainstream observance of God's word.

    • @ruthyk7083
      @ruthyk7083 Месяц назад

      @@RPSchonherrthat was exactly the case. But loans were from one individual to another. There was usually a collateral. It's illegal to tax people in order to give a loan. And based on pre analytics, a lender understands if it's basically charity or can expect repayment. Also if there are preconditions in the agreement or it's an obvious abuse, loans are not annulled and still owed in order to prevent abuse and allow for people to give loans without fear of no legal protection. That person's statement is extremely obtuse and not how it's applicable. Loans are not taxable by fiat from the populace. It would be considered theft by Jewish law.

    Obamacare that took over student loan's and then made it illegal to discharge that debt any way other than repayment or death caused a lot of these college issues.
    The Government charged usery fees on their loans and by ensuring colleges would absolutely get as much money as they wanted to charge, caused the price of college to skyrocket. Death spiral. If Biden just forgave the interest on all those loans and made them pay back the principal then that would be a lot less crap than just wiping them off the books. and that would take care of all those that have been paying for 20 years without having to add provisors and anadems to the bill...just "we forgive all student loan interest. if you've paid off your principal, you're good, if not, keep paying".

    My son and daughter in law went to Chiropractic school and between the two of them accrued over $100 grand in student loans. They were in their 20s when they went to school and now are in their 50s. Just last year, their loans were forgiven. they have been paying for their education for 30 years! We bought their house for them, because they couldn't afford it. We homeschooled their children and they both got grants to go to college and are debt free. I think going to college to get a degree that is an actual profession is senstible but to go to college for the sake of education (indoctrination) is a waste of time, money and resources.

    Its nobody's fault but mine I failed to complete GI bill and student loan funded Philosophy degree. However I was not told until a year after accepting a loan that I was qualified by being a veteran that had been to Baghdad for my per-credit-hour cost to be almost the exact amount of the loan less than I was charged. Also my fault I had know idea then that Philosophy is practically free to read and know if you do not end up buying a degree in atheistic humanism at an honors college while sitting in classes with other students and professors who hadn't yet seen the reality of life you had in a voluntary term of service. I do not want my student loan forgiven, but it is tough to forgive the DOD and school for messing up my leaving paperwork and not giving a lower price that was not designed to give something for nothing even though my time in Iraq may have been for nothing or worse. Plus the fact that no info. on my debt was given to me from 2018 to 2022 when I was earning more then, before other government mishaps as bad or worse than my drinking partying days slowed down the industry I work in. Don't feel sorry for me though, I thank God I'm not a university philosophy professor making way more money to indoctrinate youth with nonsense but working hard at a railyard getting exercise and doing something others actually get something from my work. Hopefully the gunked up gears of government will possibly relieve some of what they claim I owe in student loan debt, but if not I look at it this way I am alive and it was better to rapidly flunk out of that system in a year than go longer.
