Taxi driver in a rush to make a F**l of himself

- Hazards ahead of you whilst on your driving lesson will happen all the time. The important thing is that whilst on your driving lesson you learn from mistakes that you cause and you also learn from mistakes that all the other drivers on the road make.
In this video we are on a driving lesson when we come across something that happens everyday which is your local bin men collecting the weekly rubbish. They will at some point block the road and the important thing is to give the bin lorry lots of space so it can move on quickly. So we give the bin lorry enough space for it to move on and whilst we are waiting a taxi driver overtakes all the cars waiting and tries to get into the space in front of our learner car. In the end the taxi driver has to reverse back so the bin lorry can carry on with their normal duties.

The attitude of many taxi drivers fits well with the old saying, "Familiarity breeds contempt." Their driving technique is often so poor, lazy, sloppy. On the other hand, the drivers of large vans are the bully boys of the road! If you see DPD on the side of a van watch out!

Definitely anyone who spends lots of time on the roads, so vans and taxis. They often don’t care about the markings, especially on roundabouts, or what would be considered polite, etc. They have a tunnel vision of getting to their destination, that’s all. They love right overtaking lanes for that and generally shows lack of patience but lots of confidence.
The most common dangerous drivers I see are:
1. Vans maybe its because its a company van so they arent too bothered about being careful, they often pull out on me and tailgate
2. Motorbikes they often will speed and overtake on bends quite a few times ive seen 2 friends side by side overtaking which i just think is insane as they are way more vulnerable
3. Lorries dont get me wrong most lorry drivers are fine but ive seen them way over the line when they dont need to be and not giving way too many times

That is so true
I have seen same thing in Sheffield when we were driving. Cars parked on the right so we stopped to allow cars coming on our side. What does a taxi driver do? Drives past us and stops in front of us potential blocking the oncoming traffic. Absolutely must have the IQ same size as his shoe size. He was lucky that oncoming traffic could get out past him. We were being courteous and observing rules of the road so he could be an absolute dick!

@JamesTravis I think we all do James, just seems to be endemic everywhere. I remember taxi drivers having a reputation even back in the 90s but with the advent of all these uber and other companies, there seems to be much much more of it now. A woman at work had her car crashed into when on her way into work 3 months ago by a taxi driver. He wasn't even insured, it was his friend or cousins taxi and he had borrowed it apparently. He offered to pay her cash to which my colleague refused and got the police involved. I don't know the outcome.
Yeah you got to love the consistency of taxi drivers. Even when abroad they are the same. It's nothing to do with being a learner they bully everyone about

I get quite a few taxis on an access to work scheme, many are fine but some journeys have been interesting! Speeding (only a few) completely illegal u turns, tales concerning points/licences. It makes me more determined never to speed/do unsafe manoeuvres.
