This thing is really awesome eypecially for the price of it. Must have. Of course it is ideal for smaller compacts or bridge cameras.

2:30 I solved the loosen thing with 2 pieces of rubber rings. Never mooves if I don't want it to do.

Its very good review, but the problem you raise is very important that the base crew loose if you pan or move. *NOW THE QUESITION IS WHICH MONOPOD I SHOULD BUY THEN.*

bought 1 from Amazon warehouse deals for $49,with a VT1510 Fluid Head installed...Like it so far

Thinking about getting a KingJoy monopod but paired with a Manfrotto video head. The Manfrotto just seems more fluid.

Planning on buying one as a temporary monopod/future backup.

It's treating me well actually! I use it more than I originally anticipated. It's a pretty decent setup for the money really.
