The Great Horse Betrayal of 2024 is a phenomenon that needs to be studied, so many horses left behind in favor of wings within a week lmao
There is only so much falling off tall builds to thier deaths a hermit can take i guess :D
Keralis should make everyone's horse "break down" and see how long it takes (if ever) for hermits to notice
Every time there's a jump cut, I note the number of rockets in his inventory drop.
The hermits could just park their horses outside smallish beans place. They eventually disappear and lose a lot of weight while they're at it. Who doesn't like to shed a few pounds.
They should all be on the range.
Only in MInecraft can you watch a slightly short master architectual and landscape planner/builder with huge anime eyes and a smile like the Cheshire cat respond to the death-screams of a resurrected dragon from another dimension with "I'M BUSY!!!"
Now this comment made me really laugh out laugh, thank you.
That was such a great descriptive paragraph
@StitchedUpTrishjep, to mention a few: space for your legs in public transport and airplains, going kayaking, walking through old buildings, having enough space for your body to streach in bed - almost any bed, more efficient in towel coverage etc… :)
HE'S FIVE TEN
You love to see it
it's been said before, but i love how much more connected this season feels. there's a lot of little stuff where i get to go "oh! i saw that moment in [hermit]'s video!" like with cub and jev getting their achievments for killing the dragon and respawning it (a bunch of the hermits were killing dragons with fireworks) while bdubs was chatting about the cyberpunk city. it's just little tangible moments that remind you that they're playing together, even if they're not in the same space and collabbing.
Bdubs questioning himself on the billboard followed by Etho giving glowing praise about it was the cutest interaction I've seen this season yet.
it’s so nice that bdubs wife lets him come on her channel so often. what a charitable woman!
A good woman will let you-- actually, never mind (almost forgot there are kids present for a minute there lol).
Edit: Being able to "go" wherever you want without restriction is the epitome of trust (and by extension true love). There hopefully that makes it a little better lol
So kind!!
😂
They used to do daily vlogs around the time their second daughter was born. BdoubleOLive, go check it out, really entertaining and their kids are adorable
Was very entertaining yes :D
ive noticed more and more hermits just rolling with clips, when cub freed the end bdubs kept going with his clip, the other day false kept scars monologuing in the background of hers while walking the shopping district, and so many others and man it really makes the server feel ALIVE... theres just something about not hearing those that made prior seasons feel so lonely outside specific colabs
Absolutely agreed. I dont have time to watch other hermits as much as i have been so busy with work but watching the few hermits i do it feels like i get to see more here and there in a way
This season is just such a blast, it seems they're actually having fun rather than being more focused on creating content, we get to see little behind the scenes things of interactions and chats. I love it.
And rendog was in the shopping district and I think you could hear bdubs yelling at climb in the background
Yes, there's a reason professional film / TV does this all the time it's a small editing trick that does a lot for atmosphere and cohesion
it’s because they now have the replay buffer. Basically they are filming everything they do in the background and saving it for a couple of minutes. Whenever something great happens they can get it back with one button press :)
‘Twas BDoubleO from hermitcraft that caught the flying craze / He turned away the good old horse that served him many days / He dressed himself in flying clothes, resplendent to be seen / He hurried off to town and bought a shining new machine
Bubbles had laid Climb down to rest/ assured the horse that he caressed/ a guilty tear fled from his eye/ then off he soared into the sky/ a tale most tragic it is to be said/ horrifying as much as Joel's many a horse head
Never thought I’d see a banjo Paterson reference in a minecraft RUclips comment section, let along Mulga Bill’s Bicycle
And as he walked them through the door, with air of lordly pride, / his crying horse did neigh to him “excuse me, can you ride?”
@vinceemery5943
Dang, I wish I would have caught that, I could've gone along with it.
I love hearing Pearl melt when hermits pay her compliments on her minecraft artistry. It reminds me that hermitcraft isn't just about placing blocks and pushing content but also about friends just hanging out and being each others hype-guy
I keep getting the vibe that bdubs is building like the lower class like dystopian slums. Impulse is building the middle class kinda better off section, and joel is building the upper class who seperate themselves on high away from the city. Kinda interested to see how that comes together.
THATS TRUE! I never thought of that before but it makes so much sense
That was intentional (not the Joel part, but that's a cool coincidence)
The vibe I was getting from Joel's area was more like a more Japanese populated area outside of the city that kept it's more traditional themes while also having its own cyberpunk tech integrated into it. Kind of its own separated area from the closed off oppressive feeling of the walled-in city. So not necessarily upper class, but just it's own area separated from the city below.
@robooz The Smallish Beans Ghetto. I regret saying this.
I think one of the reasons the billboard is so great is because you've done such a great job making the city dreary and imposing and gritty that the pop of color and the promise of a "better place" just sings out, especially how it's up high, making it seem more "out of reach"
Perfectly said
Exactly what I was thinking, it fits perfectly in the dystopian theme, but would of course look incredible in a non-dystopian city too.
reminds me of some of the sets in Stray (the cat game). The aesthetic for the city seems like it will be very different but the overall vibe with the dreariness + the colors reminds me of it a lot.
@@Buggaboo-bx2bcexactly what I was thinking😅

foaming at the mouth from bdubs withdrawal
literally same i keep checking his channel every hour 🙁
The worst thing about watching Bdubs and Keralis right now is when the episode is done.
This video is basically *Bdubs lying to his horse for 35 minutes*
Bdubs casually paying the price for the duration 1 rockets, for the duration 3 rockets
That makes it much worse🥴🥴🥴@@arransimmons785
@@arransimmons785 thats what they said
Ssshhh
bedubs is a businessman
ez comment farming, impulse Style
you guys NEED Shady passage between building, and underground to the ambiance. Also if some powerline were accessible through parkour it would really add for the game.
It's really something when a Minecraft build can make you feel like you've stepped into a different game.
Your use of the replay mod to create those little vignettes just blows me away every episode. You're taking live, unscripted, improvised moments and finding a framing that just makes them so cinematic and tells so much story.
Agreed, I love Bdubs' editing
@@Rhaifhame too
Agreed. Much more interesting than a timelapse!
I especially loved the cut at Etho's base.
He’s not only a Minecraft artist but also a damn good editor. That feeling for the „special“ things/moments really shines.
Hi Bdubs, I'm an urban planner and lots of the stuff you talk about the city in this actually edge into some of those concepts of what makes a welcome city. If you're interested, I really recommend reading Jane Jacob's Death and Life of Great American Cities. It's extremely interesting on it own, but she seems to have a similar perspective on what cities should be as you do. Maybe think of this as a counterpart to how your contracting effects your buildings, could help make more realistic/immersive feeling cities :)
That’s so cool! I’d love to hear an urban planners take on different Minecraft cities!
Such a great book! I read this in my Urban Planning class in my 3rd year or university!
@@malinawins3688 It's such a good read. Depending on where you are you can see her principals in cities which is really interesting. I'm from Vancouver, and lots of what she suggests is actually just on the books/realized. Storefront business/open air markets, connectivity, sightlines, street layouts. And most importantly her hatred of urban freeways, which were protested here so hard we got them cancelled. Really cool stuff.
Yes! Vital Little Plans is another great read, a collection of journal, newspaper, and magazine articles, excerpts from books, speeches she’s delivered. Basically a genealogy of Jacobs’ thinking about the city
it should not be welcoming. its distopia.
The feel you get when you have to walk AROUND the broken bus in the middle of the street - perfection! Love it!
I love that Scar remembers the "We gaming!" thing from Bdub's old commercial. My friends and I say that all the time when the group gaming sesh is popping off, haha!
Bdubs is honestly one of the best builders ive ever seen
Agreed
Not one of, the best. Especially in survival
@@b1uR_ agreed
Gotta give him that..
oh, He is the best@@b1uR_
Just an idea incase you've not thought of it, Bdubs. Manhole covers with steam coming out and potholes with puddles. easy to do but I think it would be great for the atmosphere
Oh yeah like waterlogged slabs or stairs in the street. Also some waterlogged blocks in the corner overhangs/balconies to get occasional water drips

I work in Detroit and the color variations that you chose for the buildings is actually pretty accurate. Detroit is exactly how you described a city. Colorful and chaotic building wise. But also very beautiful. Just like your city.
I seriously felt like I was looking at Detroit, too. I don't know if it was intentional or not, as BDubs is a Michigander, but it's there regardless and it looks amazing. The scaffolding between buildings gave off a real People Mover feel. Now, I kind of want to see the Spirit of Detroit, MC version.
having some flickering lights would add some great ambience to an alleyway you are planning to add
23:29 scar closing the door like hes making sure we dont see is incredible. Such high quality
I loved that too :3
16:07 "S Q S P" the shorthand from bdubs handwritten notes actually got me. Legit the only RUclipsr who's sponsorships I will happily watch. To this day, I still go and watch "SHE GAMIN" on a regular basis.
What‘s SHE GAMIN?
When this city is finished, it will be an amazing ‘hot guy’ arena 🎉
Imagine an armorless hermit running down the streets, trying to play hide and seek.
That commercial break reminded me of Big Guys Pass N Gass with all of the behind the scenes "mistakes"
Bdubs, your editing skills have skyrocketed over the years. Amazing stuff man.
Completely agree. A master at his craft right here.
His vids were already amazing 10 yrs ago but they have just improved and improved and improved
Yes i agree fully
He edits his own video??? That's realy impressive given the quality of the montage
@@lejoueur3150yes he does!! And they are masterpieces❗️❗️
I love when BDubs takes the time to explain the color theory behind his block choices. It’s so fascinating and I learn so much!
I always love those segments too. You can really tell from his builds that he knows how to use color effectively
Definitely keep the billboard. Cyberpunk is usually covered up with obnoxious advertising, so you should probably have several. 34:20 Maybe add some rooftop air conditioners or a water tank to the top of the tall building?
Its truly amazing how from episode to episode the world of this server gets more and more builds. Like a canvas that is getting painted over time
I love how the Bdubs graffiti is 1 block shorter than the others 😂
Hey Bdubs isn't that short. Even Joel looks down on him with respect.
23:27 scar using the trapdoors instead of the door, then sneaking back to close them looking directly into the camera... so much storytelling with one shot. Also, great teaser for Etho, I really want to know now... :D
The add with Mrs doubleO was absolutely hilarious.
Also, I've commented this every video but I'll keep commenting it: cyberpunk cities need different elevations for foot traffic. It's fundamental to the identity of the cyberpunk city: overpasses, raised walkways, etc etc.
Proposed mottos:
Third time's a charm!
One in three don't suck!
Now with 1/3 less suckage!
1:29 Underpaid for the premium rockets. Poor Iskall
yeah thats what i thought
So it was Bdubs who underpayed! Iskall saw it and locked up the premium rocket chests with "caution tape"
At least someone took some tier three rockets 🤣
He never showed himself paying, far as you know he just happened to mention the price of the unstocked duration 1 rockets while buying the premium ones. Innocent until proven guilty
If Iskall had stocked his shop this mistake wouldn't have happened since Bdubs tried to buy from the other chest first. Where's the POE POE when you need them.
I’m so glad Impulse has such a redstone GENIUS in BDUBS to help him out with their CyberPunk city
It's like Doc said, if you want to learn perfect redstone you need Bdubs
He dosent need to do the redstone since bdubs is already a genius at redstone!! /lh
Bdubs' sponsors are one of the few I'll never skip, I love the humour and variety he always brings with em
I miss building with bdubs : (
That was a really engaging ad read. I definitely think those kind captures the audience better than the ‘normal way’
You know bdubs is a master of ads when his ads get referenced in the regular gameplay!
I think we just figured out the reason for the divorce papers a couple ads ago.
I actually watched it when I usually just skip through them lol!
It's always best to showcase your loved ones. She did great for a newb. Or they're messing with us but I also loved that segment. His sponsor ads are always unique and engaging. Top freaking notch
fr it was the first time i’ve willingly g watched an ad all the way through and thought it was funny
I get this feeling that the city was chosen as the theme so that the builders could hide the chest monsters in the alleyways. Looking at video as he casually rides around, shulker boxes and ender chests pile the spaces between buildings like a natural buildup of trash in a busy downtown.
+
I like to build my chest monsters as part of the actual build decoration, like little construction storage sites piled around. It only takes a second to pile some barrels and chests together in a way that looks like a natural part of the build, and I find it helps a lot with my immersion.
It would be so cool if each of the hermits could pick an apartment room from the diorite building! Decks are sometimes used as extra storage spaces, I can't wait to see what details you add!
You should use bamboo trapdoors on your traffic lights. They give that old yellow traffic light feel and they're actually circles! :)
Its so subtle but i really love how the darker wood on the garrage is below the ac/machine thing showing condenscation wetting the wall
He loves to do that
Your wife's laugh gave me joy, she seems to be such a nice person. Also, loving the new editing style, so peaceful!
That city needs some lights! You should add some lights to some of the houses to make them look like someone's living in it in the night time. It'd look awesome with shaders
as a huge fan of the medieval fantasy and Cyberpunk genres, I have to say that ur ability to pull both off well is impressive. I think it would be super cool to somehow seamlessly blend a way to parkour throughout the entire city in a way that isn't obvious! keep at it Bdubs
This build is amazing!
Also, Scar’s little “did you account for bathroom trips” and then silent cut is absolute chef’s kiss! 10/10 amazing editing
Edit: wow this comment blew up! The time stamp for the scene is 23:16
Everyone always talks about how much of a funny goofy guy BDubs is, but not enough people talk about how much of an ARTIST he is. Your use of shading and texture in your builds and your use of camera angles and cinematography in your videos never fails to blow me away.
what?! he's literally most known for his building skills. This is a sacrilege
@@kiratwo4uright?! OP just daft
all the other hermits with multiple episodes asking bdubs for build advice and then theres you who clearly has no idea lol
"You probably like the alone time, it was probably great" - Bdubs 2:52
You know what would fit really really well in your cyber punk city. "the stacks" from the movie Ready player one. You know, the towers made of trailers
Looks like we've found one of the Rocket Thieves Iskall! ..Or at least one who can't read signs and underpaid for the lvl 3 rockets ;)
The music in these videos just makes me feel some sort of way
It's so peaceful ❤
Gives me halo vibes
Its the music and the editing style that does it for me. Very cinematic. i hope it stays like this for a long time
I think you should keep the billboard and you should also put some lights in some rooms of the towers to get the effect of people awake at night and people sleeping. Good work DoubleO I love your builds.
i think you should add a lot more lights to the buildings because at night white the streets are filled with light and are energetic, when you look up at the buildings they are a bit stale when they don't have any lights on them
I love when people take their jobs so seriously and clearly love what they do. Bdubs is always joking around and having a fun time but when it comes to building and editing, its clear how much work, thought, and joy goes into it. He really is an artist
Bdubs embarrassing his wife online is why I love the Peaks behind the veil into your real life! Such a playful relationship 😂
16:00 their relationshop really is the sweetest. Theyre just adorable together and it really shows just how much they love eachother
bdubs, a great idea to make the street with the broken down bus even better - maybe change the texturing of it a bit to bring in some moss and grass, to really give it that feel of being run-down! if there's a giant bus in the street, maybe it doesn't get used as much anymore by vehicles and nature's taking over again? just an idea! amazing work, as always!!!
I'm actually loving how Bdubs is going through Season 10. His building style just keeps improving just like his editing. It almost feels like watching a produced series with a whole team. Can't wait for the next video!
Executive viewer decision: Billboard stays, its gorgeous and fits in so well. A few more dotted throughout the city would be nice. Also some that are backlit so they glow at night!(Not that you would ever see them but others might! 😉)
i come from a long family of architects so naturally i’ve become a nerd on the topic. noticed some city planners and engineers in the comments talking about how much they appreciated and related to bdubs’ plan for the city and i really can’t help but agree!! some things to add could be manholes/sewers, parking lots/garages, and atms or parking meters!!
There's this show called 'heavenly delusion", and this city is starting to really look like that! I LOVED the bus market stall, and generally all the buildings and textures and details... bdubs is just a genius!
Bdub made a perfect marketing pitch for Keralis’s idea on making tropical beaches for the hermits with that billboard, the city lookin awesome and can’t wait for the finish product
You should add a spite house, would give the city a little lore and backstory of it being more of a corporate takeover
When Grian mentioned squeezing a shop between some of the buildings in the shopping district the other day I thought of this, so seconded!
I know you probably have your city all planned out but a little power station for all the power lines to terminate at would look so good. A dark and gritty building with some sort of glowing light emanating from within and barbed wire surrounding it. A small building, could even be just outside the city walls. Or just to the left or right of the entrance you were just building by.
Love the way this city is coming together
i’ll never understand how you build so well using an urban style in mc. for me, thats the most difficult style. great job, bdubz
Mrs. DoubleO100 is a great sport, and she knows she's being a great sport. And she's gonna get Mr. DoubleO100 back someday, somehow.
BDUBS, This new editing style is absolutely so freaking good. You're videos are MUST WATCHES, they're literal art.
How can you mess up "your/you're" and use "they're" correct in the same sentence?
Right?! Love what he's doing this season.
@@rytterl Because I could care less.
@@mikehollistion6384based
For the red lights, how about the Crimson Log?
Having them sideways might make the glow slip through the trapdoor slits.
And for orange light, you could use honey blocks
That’s a gorgeous idea
@@gavinreid5350 no idea if it actually works though, but might be worth trying
I think some busted street lights would be good to add and maybe if you can make one of them to flicker? I dunno how but it'd get the crumbling infrastructure look across
Bdubs looking at others builds be like: "lovely, how pretty..."
Bdubs in his mind: "look what they need to do to mimic a fraction of my power"
This is one of your best episodes of HC ever. The editing 11/10, the framing of scenes 11/10, the builds themselves 100/10.
You were funny with the horse bit, you made futuristic tech look reasonable with the traffic lights, you collaborated with a few hermits who are also respected builders.
Honestly this is just a masterpiece.
And his wife!!!
Those cauldrons on a flat roof are perfect as they give a water spillway. Fantastic
That small building with the two garage doors is really giving me a rundown auto-body shop or car mechanic sort of vibe. I think a car on a jack out front or inside would compliment the build nicely.
joel's city in the background is so amazing. rolling with the dystopian idea maybe joel's city is where like the rich people/government/etc live or it's a historical district (mentioned more "traditional" parts of his base in his vids) i don't know im just a delusional joel lover
I thought of this when they first started there citys loved then love it now
I mean New York has a "Chinatown" type district so I'm assuming that Joel's base is the "Chinatown" of this city 🤔
@@ladysybylgreywell it's based on Japan, so you can simply say Little Tokyo instead :)
@@solarprogeny6736 makes sense :) I'm just dumb
What I love most about this build is how early on in the season it still is. In other seasons these cool city projects would get started really far towards the end, like aquetown, so there wasn't as much time for natural development. This is coming together great! Cables and greebles add so much
Your build style is absolutely insane, the attention to detail like noticing the green in the jungle wood. I'm so obsessed. The slow timelapses are so nice to watch instead of quick intense timelapses. I love the way you make everything feel so lived in and cinematic, like every build has a story to it
I am in love with the vibe this season. Hearing the timelapse makes me so happy and feel so calm. I love just having a video on and cleaning/doing some puzzles so I can watch and be productive
This is like the perfect Bdubs episode. So much building and talking about building decisions, a little comedy bits with the horse and than the reaction of two friends to the awesome builds. This is just sooo great. ♥️
24:54 who would have thought that making diorite look good just involves adding more diorite. Bdubs is an incredible builder/artist.
Love all the camera work and panning shots. The music and arrangement of these shots is superbly done. I appreciate all of the extra effort you put into these vids; it shows!!
The electrical poles are so good. If you see gems ones she’s worked out a way to make fireworks go off now and then to sound like electricity sparks. Very cool! Would add to the atmosphere you have in the city
I think the billboard adds to the dystopian. Cause everyone who lives in especially that part of the city would never be able to go on a tropical vacation and the fact they have to see an everypresent example in that billboard is so perfect
bdubs should create a forgotten horses museum for all the hermits😂
🤔 I was actually thinking they should be “sent to a nice farm” at Beef’s. 😂 Everyone can use the quote, then really have Beef boarding all the horses on his farm. 😂
Or build a building in his city... a Glue Factory.
😂
@@purplejellytotPJT I like this idea
Legit Brilliant
The billboard pink building is giving baker miller pink vibes which I think could contribute too the city trying to keep the people happy despite its issues
The billboard, the pink building, the cinematic shots (especially of scar closing those trap doors)! Loving it! Loved this episode ❤️
If you look at some of the buildings in Cyberpunk 2077, you can see how some of them are built on top of older buildings. They'll actually build an exo-skeleton around the building with I-Beams to build the new building on. I saw a video on youtube about it awhile ago, but I can't seem to find it.
Someone needs to make a business that's a retirement centre for the horses. There's a one up fee and then a weekly cost for their upkeep. Owners can still come over to feed them and ride them.
the city is so damn cool man, i especially like the traffic light, blue glass structure - it ties in the futuristic element to the area perfectly. also, I think it could be cool idea to have some business conglomerate in the city (something like Arasaka, from the game cyberpunk 2077), with like a headquarters in the more futuristic side of the city, and propaganda throughout. The headquarters could be the hub for whatever minigame you're putting in the city also.
WOW the detail for the gradient under the AC unit on the garage to mimic condensation drips - incredible 9:20
having Roads dead end into buildings is such a great trick!!!
It always felt like no matter how many buildings i added to my city i was always just barely in town, like there was no 'inner city'
The billboard is really cool. I think the glass adds depth to it, and helps it kinda look like a digital screen, perfect for the cyberpunk city.
This is so great! The whole look and vibe of this city is starting to feel so cool!
I love the depth of the city with the bridge and power lines, it added so much and its amazing
That street looks directly out of Night City and I love it. Probably my favorite Minecraft build ever, and it’s not even finished yet!
I simply can't stop talking about how gorgeous Bdubs' builds are. He makes block combinations and build pallets that should be physically impossible to make go together work FLAWLESSLY. His builds look like they're right at the verge of collapsing in on themselves visual integrity-wise and turning into noise, but they somehow don't. And he builds these masterpieces in the coolest, most beautiful cinematography as well. Like damn, that first clip features some of the coolest landscape shots I've seen in a Minecraft video, *PERIOD.* That is thanks to big part to how gorgeous the cyberpunk town is turning out, but still. These elements go hand in hand for sure.
My favorite detail absolutely has to be the number on the bus. Such a small detail but it LOOKS PERFECT
Loved the build Bdubs!! The hollowed out bus and the view from the street is next level. It is awesome! The streets feel like the city is closing in around you. Outstanding job as always!!!
