Thank you sir, it took our professor 4 sessions to explain these methods, that means 8 hours, now here you can understand in 20 minutes the three methods. Great job.
+Khaoula Daghsen i swear that here in algeria we still have a luck on information and after 3 years of teaching that course the teacher can't explain well this course and the students still suffer so it took the whole semester and we can't understand
Thank you Mr Waterman! You seriously have helped me so much! I have been struggling on this for a little while and compared to the other 1000's of videos i have watched, you have simply put it together! Many thanks!
Thank you! It only took 6 minutes for me to understand this. Our professor needed atleast 2 meetings=6 hours of lecture for him to fully discuss but still I can't understand a thing.
This system can be solved exactly by elimination, or by row-reducing the augmented matrix. A system encountered in "real life" would likely not have an integer solution!
just go on with your iterations until you're REALLY close to the actual value or if your Relative Percent Error and Approximate Percent Error hits 0.00N%
So do I have to solve the equation in gauss elimination method first in order to to find the actual value and then proceed for gauss seidal method like you showed ??
Gonkee is correct. I didn't want to get into that because I wanted to keep the video short and focused on the technique itself. Fortunately, the matrix for systems that arise in actual engineering situations ARE diagonally dominant.
Thank you professor for the demonstration and I have a query in places where my analytical solutions or values of X are unknown so, how could I firmly assume that after a particular iteration these are my fitting values. do I compare my values with the previous iteration up to an accuracy of 3 digits or so to fix that these are the values required?. Please resolve this. Regards
6 years later and still saving student lives... thank you!
make it 7
You comment is a middle finger to Study pug
@@tifo13nightfury70 make it 8
8 years later and still saving a profesional's life because who remembers engineering school anyway
getting close to 9 and still saving lives
Thank you sir, it took our professor 4 sessions to explain these methods, that means 8 hours, now here you can understand in 20 minutes the three methods. Great job.
+TheMaster-Y the same case here but me, after wasting all this time i didn't undrestand from my professor :p ;)
+Khaoula Daghsen i swear that here in algeria we still have a luck on information and after 3 years of teaching that course the teacher can't explain well this course and the students still suffer so it took the whole semester and we can't understand
hamza mizou kcheftna
the amzing thing here is that the example was mentioned in the last exam Nour Nounou
hamza mizou Haha hopefully it happens to me too
8 years later and you still saved me a lot of confusion 🥰
I watched the jacobi and gauss_seidel methods at 1.75 speed and understood eveything because the explanation was very clear. Thanks
This is amazing. I have an exam today and i never understood this till i came here. You are my hero.
7 years later and still saving students’ lives, thank you
Don't know if you see this, but thank you for your thorough explanation!
10 years later and I'm trying to cram before my exams tomorrow. this just explained what my lecturer took a whole semester not to.
Literally in the same situation, my exam is 8 Hours from now.
This video helped a lot
7 years later and still saving student lives,Thank You
Also, thank you, 4 hours of lectures into less than 15 minutes of very clear explanation through example!
Thanks alot from Czechia 10 years later.
THANK YOU
You did it in 6 minutes while others couldn't in 3 hours (2*1.5h)
Straight to the point and easy to understand. Thanks so much man.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hello sir. I hope you are well. Thank you so much for your uploads, they still help us to this day!😊
This is the more than perfect video for the given topics, thank you, sir.
crazy how 8 years later this is better than uni lectures
the bestEST explication !!
thank you so much
très bien expliqué, merci Monsieur
Lol!!! Searching for help for numerical methods on youtube, and math professor pops up. Not bad, Gregg Waterman, not bad . totally subscribed ;)
is he your professor?
Thank you Mr Waterman! You seriously have helped me so much! I have been struggling on this for a little while and compared to the other 1000's of videos i have watched, you have simply put it together!
Many thanks!
learning this 2 hours before my numerical paper
thank you
We need teacher like this. 💝
Allah senden razı olsun ya valla iyi geldi
simple fast effificant
I have no ideal why our lecturer needs two hours to explain that
Thanks very much! Gonna be a big help as i missed my lecture on this and its easy to understand straight away
first in this sem
6 min is equal to 4marks
thankyou sir...
history repeated bro. i also got 4 marks in m minor marks
Thank you! It only took 6 minutes for me to understand this. Our professor needed atleast 2 meetings=6 hours of lecture for him to fully discuss but still I can't understand a thing.
10 yrs later still saving students bravo😢
9 years later and still saving students lives
Thanks Gregg! These are some brilliant tutorials.
English isn't my native but I understood this method better then it is explained in my book...
You summed up 2 hours worth of college lectures in 12 minutes. You sir should be getting my tuition money, not the professors lol.
9 years later and you saved me
This helped a lot! I'm indebted to your videos
Your lession is so useful
It's so easy thanks to the way you explain it, thanks alot!
Thank you so much sir,you save my life
Thanks, much better than in lections, i've understood it eventually
Lecture is great!!! Nice explanation but needs to improve the audio quality. Thank you
simple and best explanation
Dobry przekaz leci, pozdrowienia z Metod Numerycznych na POLSL
Thanks Mr. Waterman
2023 and loved it !❤
Amazing, you make it so simple, thank you so much!
simple way and understand able...thanks sir g
Mr Waterman thank you very much
Excellent explanation sir
you are the best hocam. we love you
How does one know of the actual values? How did you find the actual values for this case to be (1,-3,2)?
This system can be solved exactly by elimination, or by row-reducing the augmented matrix. A system encountered in "real life" would likely not have an integer solution!
@@watermanOIT or just use a calculator?😄
Thank you sir for this simple method
the relaxation method plz .. thank you so much
The value of x3 in first iteration is incorrect, it should be -0.10625.
Correct me if I am wrong
It's always the old videos
answer of x3 is x3= 0.9531 rather than than x3=1.90625
very nice explanation
You taught well👏
Thank you covid that I can mute my instructor and use these great content on youtube.
great job..but i didn't understand from where actual values come?
In this case the system can easily be solved by elimination or row reduction of the augmented matrix.
I can't thank you enough.
Can you end at the 2nd iteration please?!
God bless you sir 🙏
how can i solve this system with g-s method?
x-2y=5
2x+y=3
NICE,VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND~ THANKS
thank you, it helped me a lot
when should i stop the steps ?.. when it is closer to the actual number ?..
How does one know of the actual values? How did you find the actual values for this case to be (1,-3,2)?
just go on with your iterations until you're REALLY close to the actual value or if your Relative Percent Error and Approximate Percent Error hits 0.00N%
Use elimination method or substitution method for the given three linear equations.
Thank you very much sir ! Merci!!
thank you sir, very helpful
You are genius ❤
Thank u so much, u actually save my life
Nice.. you are master
So do I have to solve the equation in gauss elimination method first in order to to find the actual value and then proceed for gauss seidal method like you showed ??
8 years later an- you know the drill
thanks you so much, great tutorial
Thank for this video ❤
nice explanation
Very clear, thanks
still saving lives
how i calculate the error? i did not understand it
thank u a lot . I watch this on march 2021 haha
Thank you so much
Perfect 💥💥
When do we actually stop the iteration? Because the more i go the more my approximate error fluctuates and the more my numbers go insanely high
Gonkee is correct. I didn't want to get into that because I wanted to keep the video short and focused on the technique itself. Fortunately, the matrix for systems that arise in actual engineering situations ARE diagonally dominant.
amazing. Thanks
thank you so much sir
Thank you !

Please, tell me when I should stop the steps. When gets closer to 1?

Matlab should do the trick
Thanks Sir.
I did it by excel, but my values are getting bigger.. Am I doing right??
his X1 value is wrong its 11/5 not 12/5
