Angelina's Mother Sarah Astar was not happy with the lyrics of the song as being too adult. She insisted Angelina change them if she wanted to do the song. Angelina finished writing them in the car on the way to the recording. My understanding is that they fit so well that KORK had no need to change the arrangement and that to me is astonishing! Angelina's roots. are in Jazz. She been listening and studying these icons from the past century since she was 2-3 yrs old on you-Tube. Also Angelina arranges, at least in part, if not in total, total control of all her performances. She has since she was 7-8 yrs old. She knows what she wants and gets exactly what she wants out of the artists and musicians she works with, many of them who are some of the most accomplished in the industry. ♥👣

Angelina is 10 years old in this performance - in order for to sing this song Angelina rewrote the lyrics herself 24 hours before the recording session to make it more age appropriate as her mother would not let her record the song with the original lyrics - it is an example of Angelina's songwriting talent even at this age.

Amazing story! Amazing version.
1. Schedule a recording session and choose which instruments are needed from the KORK orchestra.
2. The day before the recording session, Angelina's mother reads the Amy Winehouse lyrics and tells her daughter she can't sing them.
3. 10 year old Angelina writes new lyrics, fitting the music perfectly.
4. Go to the recording session. Do two takes to make the final video.
5. Angelina writes in the description of the video on RUclips, "So here it is, We recorded this yesterday with amazing orchestra KORK. My version of "Back to Black by Amy Winehouse" I had 1 day to change the lyrics, hope you like my version!"
6. Time to get some ice cream.

@@CarlD70 Certainly that video from the TV station makes it appear that the amusement park and the recording session were on the same day. Would be great to get verification.
She worked with a lot of musicians, from piano, guitar up to the biggest orchestra and always playing the first instrument with her amazing voice ❤

Saeed, in her docu she said she is looking up to Amy Winehouse and Adele. She also told us, that she feels honored if she is compared to both ladies. So no need to be VERY carefull how to express your comparision. A few of us believe, that AJ wrote this song to Amy. How she loves her, but is disappointed how Amy lost her live, as we are all. I sincerely hope AJ learned from this fates of the great and is very carefull around those crap.

With her amazing voice, she did a beautiful rendition in this video, her movements remind Amy Winehouse . However, in my opinion I think she was too young for such a strong text.
It would be great hear same song at a more mature Angelina' age, putting more of her own personality into it and experience performing it .

Funfact, this is the second take (AHHH GRRRR). There is a video of AJ in the engineers booth listening to her singing and her face grows slowly miffed. At the end she looks at her mom and says "Yuck". She had heard something she hates. Herself making an ERROR!!!!!!
As AJ is a well brought up girl, she does not curse or something like that. The fingers she taps on her lyrics in the beginning, were a VERY angry stab at the insulting part of her text.
I found, that the only person she gets angry with and has NO patience for, is herself.
