I'm still here is much more the taste of usually is awarded in international picture. They tend to go with highbrow drama, not disruptive musicals. The only thing that would prevent me to predict it is its visibility, but since it got best pic nod, ppl will see it.

Shocked Conclave underperformed a little.
Not as shocked by Dune Part 2. Usually it isn’t until the last film in the series that they really go all in on it. I better see Dune Messiah nominated everywhere.

You’re literally the only person I’ve seen online who has called the cinematography in Maria as bad. Even people who weren’t fans of the film praised its cinematography.
It is bad. hard to watch, poor acting.

What would this list have looked like if so many things happened. What if trump won? What if dune came out Christmas Day? What if American fiction didn’t exist at all, never won the Oscar…would sing sing (the former front runner) get nominated? What if sing sing was directed by Mr Domingo and not a sophomore director straight white male? Oscar’s politics is so mysterious, I very much wish I could be a fly on the wall and anthropologically disect the decision making process from all these people. I feel pretty good about the picks, timothee Chalamet has now appeared in 7 best picture nominated films before 30!!!
The record is held by deniro, with 12, so this is truly historic and no one is talking about it.
