2-point perspective allows for a different look and can be a lot of fun to play around with. It's mostly using with straight lines - like buildings and cityscapes and things of that nature but can be used for almost anything. I encourage you to explore this concept and see what you can come up with. Enjoy!

Brandon, that's one of the clearest explanations of a complex subject I've ever seen - I wish you'd been my art tutor (a bit unlikely, since I'm old enough to be your grandfather): what I really like about this demo is that you say 'have fun with it': too often, we forget about the fun part, and get weighed down with getting things exactly 'right'; that was the problem with the art education I had. It's a pleasure to watch your films, and I hope you keep making them - unlike one or two who sell their expertise, carefully reserving all the useful information until they've got the credit card details, you're giving your expertise away: and more power to you.

I agree he is very good at what he does

I know I am six years late but I gotta say that this man s the only one I found who made drawing this simple, thank you Mr Schaefer
I learned more here than in my drawing class in college. LOL Thanks Branden. Still luv ya for all you do. Really!
Simply, thank you for your easy to follow tutoruals. Finally I am learning to draw shapes and forms and moving from hiding behind my abstract therapeutic interpretations. These tutorials are reducing my anxiety and helping with concentration. Perfectly planned and well timed knowledge based lessons. A big step for a teacher and expressive therapist to learn how to draw, so easy and fun! so again I thank you Brandon!
Glad to hear :)
This was the most clearest instructions I have found for 2 point perspective drawing. You made it quite easy for me to comprehend. Thank you Brandon
I used to be in love with drawing bc to me it's the only way that allows me to express my feelings but then I gave it up 6 years ago but always wanted to go back to it and then I found ur vids and I started drawing again and I'm like the happiest person rn and I can't tell u how grateful I am. Thank u so much for making these vids

This video has been up for five years and people (hello) are still watching it. I think that says something. Thank you for the very basic help that real beginners need.
Thanks for the great videos! I've been a doodler all my life but never learned the fundamentals. Your videos are of great value! Cheers!
You are the only person I have heard saying have fun while learning. Every one else trying to teach me, were busy making an expert out of me on something. We need to learn to enjoy life.
No doubt!! If you're not enjoying what you do, then what's the point? That's my thought anyway. Totally agree with you! :)
its 2023, nearly a decade later and im 21 now and starting to draw for the first time. I've been binge-watching/ drawing/learning for the past few hours and his videos have made me so much better than this morning. I've never really drawn in my life lol. Timeless education right here.
Glad to hear that :)
These are great, this is teaching me what art class in high school never could. I've always thought I'd never be able to draw but you've proven me wrong. Thank you so much.
Perspective and shading are the things I struggle with the most...
Not anymore! 'Cause I watched YOUR videos :)
Thanks for the GREAT teaching, keep it up!
Thanks so much for this video! I have never taken an art class, but I have watched a few videos about two-point perspective drawing. You’re the first person to say that the vanishing point could be off the page! Brilliant! I can’t wait to try it. 😀👍
Thank you for this series. It has really improved my drawing from good to excellent so I am grateful to you😊😊
I was afraid of even trying to do this. You have made this so much easier for me to tackle, I followed you and I was impressed with my lines and the finished look. Brandon, thank you so very much for sharing this technique.
Thank you so much .I just have started for learning draw in this winter ,and I found your videos a few days ago ,they are so helpful for me .
I really have fun with draw .thank you for your sharing and your kindness .
Thank you so much for this Learn To Draw series! Each video I watched so far is concise and to the point - all the explanations you give during drawing are really helpful and comprehensible. THANKS. Best wishes from Germany and please keep up the good work. Peace.
Once again Brandon....you rock! Back to the sketch pad! TFS
Thanks so much! Your lessons on drawing have helped me so much. Your an amazing artist!
Thank you so much for these videos, Brandon! I used to draw and paint regularly when I was younger. And yet, when I grew older I drifted further and further away from practicing art. The paralyzing fear of not getting it right, of not being perfect enough stopped me from picking up a pencil or a brush for years. Today, I found your videos and have been watching and sketching nonstop. Thank you for taking it all back to basics, it makes it so much easier for me to dive into drawing without too much anxiety. And thank you for always emphasizing that, first and foremost, this should be fun! I almost forgot that. Thank you!
Im so thankful that im getting this for free! Thank you sensei! ♥
If you're looking at real life situations to sketch, how do you know what vanishing points are? Are there ever more than 2? P.S. these videos are beautifully explained. Thank you.
These lessons have been very valuable. Thank you
Your videos are very helpful, I love them! Respect to you as a teacher! Surely you influence me. Thank you from Greece.
I understood more in these first 5 videos than in the 2 "basic" drawing books I bought. These so-called beginner books went into advanced techniques that they turned me off to art.
Your videos are great thank you .. very clear to understand
I am so grateful that you made these series, Or else I would fail Biology practicals 😅

I really appreciate your efforts. Thanks for a great video.
Really helpful videos 👌.. I was looking something like this who can explain everything from the beginning 😂 for the beginner.
I just watched all the 5 episodes all together ❤️.
Thanks a lot 😊.
ur a good art teacher fr ive learned alot and slowly improving!
Definitely no one's watching this in the COVID pandemic huh...Except me of course
Am I the only one watching this in 2019

no :)
@@SchaeferArt u cant prove it
You can't handle the truth, even if I did prove it
no i am the second
I always thought that i didnt know how to draw. Watching these videos helped me to learn how to draw and all of these techniques. It really does help to have fun with what you draw and to draw anything that you can.
No matter 7 year ago.I am pakistani and learning in 2021. Good bless you
I really love your tutorial.. I am following you daily
I am watching it now and I think you are best tutor i am better and better now in sketching ❤️ thanks for such amazing vidoes

Over seven years late and this is still the best tutorial on yt i could find, (and believe me when i say i searched A LOT)
Great job man!
You're amazing.
Glad you liked it!
I subscribed cuz you helped me understand how to draw
Thanks. Good explanation for a complicated topic. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Just found these last week. On the Video 5 today. My pencils also arrived today. Your videos are great
Im 36. In 3 weeks I have went from " I'll never be able to draw" to drawing trees and all kinds of stuff I never thought I could. Thank you for these lessons, they really helped me get over that issue and start to learn!
Glad to hear that!
Your videos has teach me alot man...thanks so much
Glad to hear it!
your videos are great, this one is my favourite so far. I have read few books about drawing and never felt such joy for drawing that I felt while drawing along your video. can you please do more videos on the topic of composition.
Glad to hear 😊
Again, this is excellent!
Thank you! Cheers!
You are really elegant as a master,Brandon,I can't help but be your fan.
By the way,I also need help on making detailed sketches,I'm trying to draw Halo master chief, but I fail horribly and need help... :-C
YOU ARE A FLIPPIN LEGEENDDDD BROO
These are really good videos. You explain the ideas very well but also in a way that let's a beginner get to it right away. Thank you so much for your time and expertise!
Another thing to try is to put the entire object below or above the horizon line. If you are drawing something like a cube, you'll be able to see either the top or the bottom - creating like a bird's eye view. Fun.
Finally, I finally get it. Thanks for making this so much simpler to understand!
Thank you so much! The simple way you explain things makes it so much easier to learn and follow! I'm taking oil painting classes at a local gallery, but I love to watch your videos and I learn so much from them! Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us!! Keep up the great work! You are appreciated !

That was awesome this my 8th day of this tutorial series!
I am very happy to see your lessons. I have always said to myself that I cannot draw, but your lessons are very helpful. And now I'm making art! Thank you! ♥
You help me understand perspective alot
I really really love this guy
I loved art but I thought its soo hard I can't do it but after watching his videos I really get the hang of it
Glad to hear this :)
😊
This is just phenomenal. I thought I wasn't made to draw but you've changed my perspective man.
Please don't stop teaching us.
I might not be the greatest drawer but this is helping me enjoy drawing alot

Such a wonderful set of instructional videos, many, many thanks on behalf of my 5 students.
Fantastic lessons, Brandon! Thank you for taking the time to explain art basics in such a clear and structured way! You should write a lessons book or something!:)
Your video helps alot, I'm glad I grew up in France we learn these basics perspective at a younger age so the first 5 videos were just like "remember" haha, can't wait to catch up to the recent content but like the others said in the comments, one sketch at a time :)
Cheers sir keep it up thank you again
You are an amazing teacher. This is the first time I’ve really understood how perspective works. It was intimidating until now. Thank you so much for sharing your vast knowledge.
Glad it was helpful!
I never knew watching this video would be so entertaining
I faintly remember this in art class 😫 I wasn’t into drawing back then. Wish I would have paid attention. Thanks for this video!
Thank you so much for creating these videos! I'm following 1 video every day and learning so much
Who else’s watching in 2021??
P.s:thank u these videos are never getting old,I’m learning a lot ^_^
Hey dude I know you might not see this but I have a few questions
1. The lines for the vanishing point.. Am I supposed to make them dark or light? Or erase them?
2.What am I supposed to make dark and what not?
3. Can you make a video were you do 1 and 2 vanishing points and shade the drawing? That would really help me
Great lesson!
Omg, I never thought I would learn about perspective this easily.
I'm still intimidated in incorporating shadows and lights with perspective tho.
Greetings from Iraq
Your videos are amazing
Thank you very much Brandon! This is very useful information. Love your videos, I appreciate your sharing your knowledge with us. You are a kind and generous soul.
One of the main things to remember when practicing is that to get better at perspective u need to use lot of reference from real life and nature
Yeah no doubt!
Hey dude. Can you please do more videos for shortcuts like these. I mean houses and things or what ever like that please . Your big fan from Sri Lanka.
Another youtube teacher I can add to my list. Thanks man!
Thank you for this informative video
I have a question.. if it was a one-point perspective, would the first line be below or above the horizontal line?
I just find out I like drawing and not to bad at it. No formal classes and you videos helps soooooooo much. Hope I catch all your training video. Thank you
i am getting into drawings. i didn't have much time to draw this year and i was too lazy to take drawing seriously back then but anyway how do i draw a spherical object in a two points perspection? am i making sense??
Such a nice and simple way of explaining. Thank you
Great video! hope that you teach children to draw in person! Many can draw if they had the training. My city's public school have great art teachers, but the kid's behavior is so bad. The students do not allow the instructors to teach and destroy the art supplies.
Sir extremely helpful thanks.sir can u do more videos with drawings to understand 1n 2 point perspective
Amazing, easily the best tutorial on this subject. 😍
Thank you so much, i have no words! i've learned a lot i just 2 hours watching an practicing your stuff
Great to hear!
Thank.you Brandon, I knew somehow your explanation I would understand the concept. Thanks for your time in posting this and the others. I read so many books, watched many vids and just couldn't get it. I am very grateful for posting this, maybe I am slow or it takes someone to present the info to get it, and I knew I would if you explained it. Thank you...
Thank you for sharing your your knowledge I am a beginner learner and truly appreciate your help.
I love 💗 ur art and all the technices you use to describe the art this boasted my art to90% and I am sos glad I met ur channel
so happy to practice with all of your videos. Will be watching for years!
My question here is... when do I use two-point and when only one-point perspective? That is what confuses me the most actually ^-^ What is the difference, when do I need two vanishing points and why... ?
Well these are kind of just concept to understand the theory. When you look outside and in real life, there are many different vanishing points for different objects. It's quite complex. My advice would be to draw from life as much as possible
You are an amazing teacher. This is the first time I’ve really understood how perspective works. It was intimidating until now. Thank you so much for sharing your vast knowledge.
I learn many things from you!
Basically, if the front of your drawing is a face, use one point perspective. If it's edge, how ever, use two point perspective. If it's a corner, use three point perspective
I did really get "ideas" now! Wow, i'll say! This is magic! And i'mma learn magic, rn!
THANK YOU! MAY JESUS KEEP YOU SAFE AND HEALTHY . MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT FROM GREECE
Love your videos there awesome 👏 I follow you and your helping me be a artis
