Launch of CTED’s Analytical Brief on Public-Private Partnerships & Countering Financing of Terrorism

  • To mark the publication of UN CTED’s latest Analytical Brief on ‘Establishing effective public-private partnerships on countering the financing of terrorism’, a hybrid launch event was held on Thursday, 8 February 2024.
    The event gathered a broad range of experts who shared a range of perspectives, including from national authorities, research and academia, the private sector, and civil society, on how to encourage more effective and responsible public-private partnerships (PPPs) within the specific context of countering the financing of terrorism (CFT).
    Participants highlighted the mutual benefits of such partnerships, emphasizing the leveraging of unique strengths, resources, and expertise from each sector, while also reflecting on known and potential pitfalls to avoid. They also emphasized why a comprehensive and inclusive approach is key to developing successful PPPs and offered their thoughts and experiences on which stakeholders should be included. By bringing together diverse stakeholders and experts, the event aims to foster a more sustainable, inclusive, and innovative approach to PPPs in the area of countering the financing of terrorism.
