I really enjoy your modding videos. I have done the positive to negative display on dozens of Casios and my procedure is a little different. First of all, I never disassemble the module. I’ve found that the polarizing film can be easily removed without having to disassemble. Secondly, I use an exacto knife to remove the film starting at the corner like you do. Thirdly, and most importantly, I never use goo gone to remove the adhesive. I absolutely hate goo gone. Through a lot of trial and error, I’ve found that a regular high polymer pencil eraser removes the adhesive much faster than goo gone and is far less messy. The eraser is also useful to remove the text on the case. I’ve gotten to the point that I can do these mods in 15 to 30 minutes. Give the eraser a try. I think you’ll like not having to deal with the mess and aggravation of goo gone.
Appreciate the kind words and suggestions. Never heard of the eraser method, but ill definitely give it a try. Thanks.
Just curious, for your negative display mods, do you ADHESIVE polarizing film or NON-ADHESIVE?
Mod on, my friend 👍🛠
I always use adhesive film. I’ve never tried the non-adhesive.
Very good video. The whole process is shown in detail. Very informative. My respect to the author.
Negative always looks better than positive imo! I bought mine as a beater.. I don't think i would want to beat it anymore when it looks that good with the negative display..
Absolutely amazing transformation!
Thank you.
amazing tuning. This is mutch better than stock watch. especially like the backlight. casio should see this and do the same in the new version of the watch
That actually looks awesome. I'm tempted to convert mine.
Awesome transformation of those casio watches it looks fun to do
The watch looks much nicer with the negative display. The only drawback is that it is not as legible as the normal display. It is actually quite a bit darker, making it difficult to tell time at a glance.
Thanks. And very true. I mean, for most negative displays (except MIP displays) you're buying a negative display for the stealth look, not for ease of reading time. So a mod like this is 100% just for cosmetics.
Worse comes to worse, the process in the video can always be repeated im reverse to back to positive display
Another great video and awesome mod. Will probably try on mine ;-) Thanks a lot mate!
Thanks for the kind words. Mod on my friend👍
Wow, that's awesome. Thanks for sharing this 👍
Besok dibikin gini bang 🤪
Siap nunggu videonya
the cuts in the video when things weren't looking good, very nice😂😂
If the world timer looks small on your wrist you are either an elephant, hippopotamus or a rhino. 😂
Do not take out the resin strap for 291H & 737H.It's a pain in the ass to put in back in.. 😂
Unless permanent decision to convert to adapter strap.
Btw great guide on negative mod! 👍
lol, very true. and thanks for the kind words. Mod on my friend
Pain in the ass is putting it lightly! I almost threw mine out as I was frustrated as hell failing to reattach it
Good video! the negative display it's really looking good! but if you don't remove the strap it's hard remove the backplate, the times i remove the straps of my dw 291 i don't used a spring bar tool i used a little screwdriver, allows me to use more force to push the spring bar to the lugs holes
AMAZING video and job man ... big THANKS ... 👏😎
Awesome Watch, I Like It
I loved your video, in fact I saw it about 5 times, and I decided to buy the watch and do it by my self, and it was quite difficult, 😅 i dessambly and assembly the whach almost 7 times 😅 but the result was wonderful
Saludos from medellin colombia
Thanks for the kind words. Glad you were able to get yours modded👍😁👊
Great! Now I can get ready for the next special ops.
I loved the result
The strap actually locks the back plate in place too. Harder to remove with straps on.
MUCH BETTER LIKE IT!
So sick!!
This is one awesome explanation for inverting the LCDs! And it looks amazing! Thank you for the very detailed instructional video! I have a few watches that I think would simply look amazing inverted. Can I ask though, has this been tried with electroluminescent lit LCDs?
Thanks for the kind words. Im not sure if it will work on electroluminescent lit LCDs.
Id recommend joining the Custom Casios group on facebook and asking there. Im a member there too, and it's filled with many other modders who may know👍
Great work.
Thank you for the instructions, thinking of doing the same. Very minor correction @ 1:20 of "Barton metal bracelet", wouldn't that be a pin buckle.
Youre very welcome. And thanks for the correction note. I frequently get tongue-tied 😁
That watch looks like an entery level g shock
Would using rubbing alcohol work for cleaning the glue off the display? It will it hurt the screen?
Im not sure. Ive never tried it. Alcohol is safe on electronics, but beyond that, i cant comment as to whether it will work at removing the glue or be safe when u reassemble the watch.
Goo gone or Goof Off are so cheap and easily available at any grocery. Just go with those
Thanks for sharing and to such a detail. Hope U got some antihistamine for your running nose. Cheers
Thank you👍👊😁
nice vid anyway.. its very helpful
🙏👊😁
You should modify and sell these to us, that are scare to even open a watch and mess it up.
awesome really good job, do you know what model of bull bars for g-shock can fit in this watch?? thank you great video
have you tried putting dw291 mechanism into ae1200 case, or vice versa? They seem to be very much the same mechanism, and I heard you mention that you wanted to check that..
Liked & subscribed 👍
can you just retain the stock polarized film then overlap a new polarize film 90' i think it will have the same result?
Good question, but No. You have to remove the stock polarizing film.
You could remove the stock film and rotate it 90 degrees and get the negative effect, but it's bettee to just use a new film since the old one will have glue residue
@@watchncarry9593 well noted on this! ❤️❤️ thanks buddy
Amazing legibility, what film did you use?
haha, I did the same thing on the 291h just one year ago. it's really difficult to remove the origin film and get rid of the glue. must pay lots of patience.
So it wasnt just me. The ae1200 and ae1300 are much easier, hut as u said, just letting the goo gone sit for longer helps
AMAZING🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🏆🤜🤛
Когда то я такое с томагочи проделывал. Просто вкладывал родную плёнку боком и все. Экран там тоже квадратный. Признавайтесь, вы на томагочи этому научились? )
Can you suggest a bull bars for this watch?
I have it with the gray display, I would like to have it in black, but I think it's not a job for me ...
I am 20yo. Just got hired in my first position which will start my career
I am searching for this timepiece to reward myself for the last years of struggle. Where can I find this amazing SCVF009 reference?
Hi, is it also possible to convert a negative display to a positive display ?
Hi. Yes it is. Ive done it in the link below. It's a different watch, but same procedure applies

👍
@@watchncarry9593
@@watchncarry9593 Appreciate your prompt response It would have been great if you were in located in Mumbai, India as I wanted to convert the display of a few G Shock watches Will not try to do it myself as I am not experienced to do it
@@charudattaalate7176 no problem. Hope you can find someone to do it for you👍
Bought the negative display filter but its not sticky on either side anymore. Its just a filter now. I watched this video at least 10 times when i got mine in the mail but it doesn’t stick so I’m sad.
Wasted 20 bucks
How would you remove the lettering on the crystal?
Theres no text on the crystal, but on the inmer masking, the text can be removed with a qtip and goo gone. I have another video on how to do it on my channel👍
@@watchncarry9593 Thanks for reply, I am wanting to the target the '"mode" "adjust" "light" "search" writing. Watching your vids, the inner masking doesn't contain this writing.
So, will that invalidate the warranty🤣 great tutorial thanks.
Hi friend would you be able to confirm if the dw291h has the same size module as the ae1200?
HI.... Is it possible to convert negative display to normal display on casio A1000M ??
Im not sure, but i would assume it's the same process as the DW-291. Maybe even easier, since the A1000M is a smaller display
please make a video on the world time!
Ive got a few videos up already on different mods for the World Time AE1200 and AE1300 👍
@@watchncarry9593 that color combo is amazing! definitely plan on building one soon
I think the watch you are wearing is AE-1300 ?
The case is off a Casio AE-1200WH-5AVCF. The masking and module inside the case are off a AE1300WH-8AV👍
Hi! Do you have the case for this casio? Mine it's broken 😭
Do i have a case i can give you?
@@watchncarry9593 yes can you sell one to me?
Would you do this mod for me with my dw291h? Please let me know. Thank you
Thanks for your interest. Im currently out of polarizing film, but should have more around end of January. Please message me then. 👍
@@watchncarry9593 will do. I greatly appreciate the reply 👍 Love your videos!! Very informative.
@@watchncarry9593 This is purely OUTSTANDING! ! ! ! You sir are a gifted craftsman when it comes to watch modification. Hats off........in fact......NO hats at all... 🤔
Where in the US are you stationed and if I pay you, how much will you charge me for you to do mine the same way?? 🤔
Would it be possible to do a negative mixed with positive red?
Do u mean lart negative, and part normal postive display with a red filter layed over the normal display?
@@watchncarry9593 yes, like how you did with your color filter mod. As in red over the normal display in the 10-second counter and dial clock. With a negative display everywhere else.
ruclips.net/video/KQKA1Q39ris/видео.html
I've seen you mark your filter with a "T" on two videos now. If you flip a T wrong side over, you still have a T. Why not use an F? (Top becomes Front, or Face.)
Question. Can the faceplates be spray painted and/or lacquered? Even though a lacquer finish sets hard, I'm worried that the heat inside the watch could affect the spray paint and could damage the inside of the glass where the faceplate and screen touch. I know there's heat resistant sprays you can buy, but the colour range is limited.
I spray paint digital watches all the time, they are plastic cases that are spray painted anyway, put tape on the glass and cut round it with a scalpel, then a few light coats, give it over night and re-assemble
Amazing video. Can pay you to do one for me. Or do you have one for sale.
Thank you. Id be happy to get a new one modified for you. Please message me on my Instagram for more details: @watchncarry.
Thank you👍😁
@@watchncarry9593 Thank you.
How many MOJULES JO you MOJ in a JAY? 😂
23...duh
@@watchncarry9593 you mean JUH?
Will this be still water resistant?
Yes
Made in china???
Yeah.
Assembled in China using parts that were made in Japan which came from materials which were mined in Russia using equipment that was manufactured in America in a factory that's run by a Canadian who was adopted by two Norwegians.
@@watchncarry9593 Hello, I am from Poland, I just ordered and in our stores they are from 26 to 72 dollars, some of them are made in china and some have company casio approvals sealed with a sticker, I know that they make g shock in Japan and Thailand and I also count in China, that what I ordered will be at least from Thailand, but there is a globalization of production, despite some even cheaper models are full of Japanese production, I am starting my collection of watches and the first was the classic cityzen now it's time for a cheap swim in the pool, hence this cheap choice of wr200. Regards.
