The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad operates over the former Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad's scenic Silverton line from Durango to Silverton, CO.
This video features recently restored K-37 493 on freight, with trucked in Southern Pacific 4-6-0 18 joining. Both engines put on a great show through the scenic Colorado scenery.

I love the sight and sound of this mixed train led by engine #493! What a show!
Glad you enjoyed
In one month and 4 days, we will be in Durango to ride the train to Silverton. My grandson is a fiend for trains and we are going for his 3rd birthday. I can only hope that the scenery on our route is as breathtaking as this!!!
Awesome 😎
Beautiful video of scenery and sounds. Awesome!
Glad you enjoyed
I’ve railfanned it and will ride it tomorrow
This place sure knows how to put on great photo charters. And seeing SP 18 take part in the one last fall was just an event more fascinating site to see on the D&S.
I would love to see them in person

Wow, great job! Well done, that’s simply amazingly impressively beautifully epically incredibly awesome!
Dynamo productions you should work for pentrex because your camera shots are outstanding can’t wait for more future vids
Thank you. Though we operate our own network and produce our own projects. We're a team of 9 cinematographers coast to coast across the US, operating our own network is more beneficial and gives us greater creative control.
Wow.
I know that railroad
hello! How are you? In which month of the year was this video recorded? Nature is very beautiful! I live in Brazil and I want to do this tour.
493 the lumber train
SP 18's whistle like western maryland big 6's whistle
It has always been a dream to drive a steam locomotive for me but sadly
NO WAY
How many times are 493 meeting 480?
Hell my. Hell
Oil fired engines?
Yes, the 493 was brought back to service as an oilburner, and 18 has always been oilburner
