In all of his fights I have watched he routinely uses kicks and knees to the body, but few to the head or legs. His punching preference stood out as a dominant headhunter with few body punches or elbows mixed in. He also rarely used an offensive clinch other than to throw a single knee then reposition himself or his opponent, but was excellent in defending against being trapped in one. A very interesting, and exciting fighter.
He’s got that “I don’t give a fuck as long I hurt someone really bad I’m happy”-vibe
Fun fact, he never cross-trained in western boxing he only practiced muay thai, this is a good indicative of the level of punching skill that you can get in a good muay thai gym.
No well he is a Muay Mat Absuer a style which focused alot in punches and kicks
This is so true. If you watch the stuff he teaches, it’s surprisingly different than western boxing such as his hook that KO’d namkabuan.
To be fair western boxing seems to make technitions instead of muay matz
@@freshprinceofgettingdisres2089but lots of Muay mats have crossed over to western boxing
@freshprinceofgettingdisres2089 wtf you talking about. You dont train muay matt. Muay matt just describes the style that some fighters naturally graviatate towards
One thing that I find amazing about his fighting style is his strong kick defense. Not only he was an awesome puncher, but most of the time he managed to check or catch or counter almost every kick thrown at him
His fight against Samart was awesome. Two great strikers with brilliant boxing skills.
He defeated samart, kaensak and karuhat
What a legend
@Derbemag22 yeah first one was namkabuan who died today of cancer
Chamuakpet too
Samart was past it tho
RIP Vangchannoi
He defeated Karuhat quite controversially in the second fight a lot have speculated whether it was the right decision I think Samart was old by then his wins over Kaensak and Namkabuan (rip) were legitimate though
I love to watch MT fighters with great boxing skills. 😎🤘👍
Muay Thai and Drum n Bass make this Nak Muay happy ^_^
This guy is an amazing puncher, powerful, fast.
3:06 that evading was so beautiful!!
If i ever have to go to war , i want wangchannoi on my side , this dude is a freaking " tiny " BEAST !!!!
wangchannoi the greatest!!
Those aren't bums he's fighting in these highlights, they're fellow legends...
Indeed The Gerald McClellan of Muay Thai. Same Era. Powerful
Muay Thai and Drum And Bass!!!?!!! Pure combo 😶👍
loving the drum n bass . goes well with the high lights

I realy like your channel, I discovered a lot of great fighter, thanks a lot.
Could you please add some breakdown?
awesome!!!!
Best ever.
une legende
tout simplement mon combattant preferer de la golden era
One of the GOATS
I love the femeu fighters of the Golden era, but watching this man work is also beautiful
nice fight; good intensity !
Damn, the names this guy has beaten is impressive. He has defeated the best of the best ever😱
Superman This guy has beaten almost everybody this channel has highlighted😂😂😂😂
Superman Nah, I think Dekkers is legit. For me the best farang ever, he went to Thailand and defeated some of the best at that time (Nampon, Coban, etc) and he earned the respect of Thais. Second best farang for me is Johhn Wayne Parr tho
Superman Danny bill was very god too! Idk, really I believe farang is used for caucasian people but maybe it could be used for any foreigner? Top fighter anyways. Yes man, it was weird he died so young but idk quite some of these golden era fighters have died young too. Ramon Dekkers, Nokveed Davy, Oley Kiatoneway, Chatchai,... some of them just collapsed.
Maybe Dekkers just took too much beating??? He had a very very dangerous injury in his right ankle and he kept training full gas, he was all heart. So yes, I cant believe he did steroids. R.I.P😢
Evander Holyfield was roided as fuck lol They looked massive in the Tyson bout. Idk, Dekkers seemed to be very lean and without tons of muscle on him, like..he doesnt look like he takes anything. Correct me if im wrong, im not an expert in the topic.
I just want to believe Ramon respected his opponents and the sport and never took substances and his death is due to the toughness of his job, as a miner f.e. They die younger because it is a very hard job. I've read recently very uneducated comments about Ramon saying he only fought bums throughout his career...lol! Namkabuan, Orono, Sakmongkol, Superlek, Coban and Namphon come to my mind. Those are legends of Muay Thai, anybody can deny Dekkers had extreme determination and was all heart.
Talking about knees, Namphon's were deadly but what about Dieselnoi's knees? I swear I couldn't believe how violent he could be, probably my fav Golden era champion alongside Somrak. Who's your nowaday's active fighter?
Superman Me I'd say Saenchai, I love to watch him. Its sooo slick and fast still for his age. Sad that Yodsanklai retired, he was one of my favs too
Pure muay Thai 👌🏻👌🏻💪🏻💪🏻👊🏼👊🏼🙏🏻
Outsanding fighter, and beautiful video, brother
ปราบมาหมด แม้กระทั่งนักมวยยอดเยี่ยม
wangchannoi my boy!!! he is the best
classic thai boxing
Has really good hands
this guy has it all
He fights just like Gerald mcclellan. If the gman learn muay thai he would be wangchannoi
How in the hell is this guy not more talked about in the running of the greatest nak muay of all time with a body bag record like that?
Amazing power, according to Samart he gave him his most difficult fight. Samart may have been at the end of his career but he still had it
As Thai , Golden Era has a lot of the greatest boxer
fyi: i like baukaw but any of these old school champs, would have ended baukaw
This guy is like 122 lbs
Yeah no
Not the same weight. But otherwise yeah
buakaw is kind of like mike tyson―he's obviously incredible but still massively overestimated by casual fans
Idk I think buakaw is better than changpuek kiatsongrit
He's got one of the best hands
Channoi " to respect the elders or higher "
what about Orono, Sagad, Rambong, Rambaa, Langsuan or Sangtiennoi....only Name a few more Fighters very impressive Clips from start to end Awesome
Bad ass fighter!!!
Top five goat nak muay imo
Both born in 1967. The goats
monster !!!

from the highlights it seemed like he was one hell of a low kicker as well. Even if his boxing wasn't god like he would still be a good fighter with those strong low kicks.
Ben Peng , He broke the leg of Lamnmoon too , it's on RUclips .
@@JetLi-zt5qh He broke by an accumulative amount of leg kicks.
@@8limbedwarriornakmuay175I swear Wangchannoi is a power femur is he actually a muay Matt ?
@@owenwright4927 Wangchannoi was a hybrid between Muay Khao and Muay Matt ( although he heavily lean towards Muay Matt ).
He was never a Muay Femur.
@@8limbedwarriornakmuay175 oh I see
holy crap thats a nice list of people he took down :O
ในอดีต วังจั่นน้อย เก่งมาก...ชนะก้องธรณี -สามารถ พยัฆอรุณ มาได้สุดยอดแล้ว
Yeah even though he ko Namkabuan in the 1st fight wangchannoi gotta good taste of Nam's elbow in the 2 ND fight split his forehead open
Devastating boxing (🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊) skills.
Devastating Muay thai
Why was this style never the most common one? The majority of Muay Thai always has seemed to be either single beat mid to high kicks or a clinch dominant strategy when under traditional rules? Yes, occasionally there will be a Muay Fimeu like Saenchai come around but those like him seem to be outliers.
Back in the days at the beginning of Muay Thai this was the most common one, this style is called Muay matt, and is arguably the oldest style of Muay Thai.( Without taking Muay boran into consideration)
And then you realize how great was Samart
Exactly, wangchannoi surely is the best fighters of the 90's, fought everyone and beat everyone, then in his fight against samart, at the beginning he get completly outclassed by samart, but later in the fight samart got tired ( he didnt train for this fight because he was lazy, so his body was not in good condition and he was not in his prime no more) then wangchannoi won thanks to this. You realise that if samart was in good shape, he would have won the fight for sure. Then you realise how good dieselnoi was, he beat a prime samart with no real difficulty. Then you realise how good vicharnnoi was, he beat a prime dieselnoi 2 times ( he's the only man in history who beat dieselnoi twice) when he was not in his prime and only lose once against dieselnoi. Then you realise how good fighters from the 70's were. Guys who won against vicharnnoi (and also lose) like pudpadnoi, poot lorlek, sirimongkol (beat vicharnnoi 3 times and never lose against him), saensak (beat vicharnnoi by ko, also beat sirimongkol by ko). Nak muay were for sure better back then, muay thai greatest fighters are from the 80's and 70's.

One of the few that beat Samart.
Mike Smithson Samart cardio was the reason .
that doesn't matter, preparation for a fight is up to the fighter and his trainers. Once you step into the ring, it's all up to you whether you win or lose. Wangchannoi isn't going to back off in his training because Samart didn't prepare, he has to assume Samart is going to train to win.
Mike Smithson You must be unaware of the career and habit of Samart ... well .
Of course I know who Samart is, I have met him and trained with him. He's one of the great Muay Thai fighters, if not the greatest of all time. Doesn't mean that he still didn't lose to Wangchannoi, which he did. Fighters don't have asterisks next to their win/loss records because they had an excuse. Samart makes no excuses for his wins and losses and neither do his opponents. It's simple, you step into that ring, your win or loss is up to the you, nothing else.
Mike Smithson
You serious ?
He was extremely notorious to skip training and sparing to the point where it would become cancerous to his Khru Yodtong Senanan ( RIP ) , he so huge as a star that no one in the camp dared to put him in his place , he did party , drink and woman just before championship fights and was notorious to be kind of a rebel to his trainer .
But was he talented/great fighter ? He is inside Top 6 best Femur ever alongside Krongsack , Nongkhai , Puth Lorlek , Pud Pad Noy and Wicharnoi Porntawee .
Before the fight with Wangchannoi all he did was running in order to make weight and be able to step inside the ring and for the first 3 rounds of the fight he COMPLETELY dominated Wangchannoi and made him look amateurish : using blinding fast leg kick ( one of the biggest weakness of Wangchannoi ) , elbow ( cut him off ) , evasive/elusive defense and precise boxing .
Afterwards Wangchannoi kick him with a powerful mid kick that faze him and then he was done , but still even getting electrocuted by that kick he still defended Wangchannoi strike even on the rope ( Wangchannoi was a muay matt/bouk forward fighter yet in the later round even he couldn't blitz through a tired/dazed Samart ) .
Samart later announce his retirement and made a song on how he should've train harder for his fights , he also stated that the Wangchannoi fight was the hardest of his career.
Samart lost because he is Samart ... the most gifted fighter in history but was SO gifted that he thought petty things like training/discipline were no longer important for someone as ridiculously skilled as he , he was wrong .
There's one fight footage involving Samart before he went on to fight in boxing and he put on one of the best fighting performance I've ever seen a fighter put on and completely annihilate a great Thai champion , i pick that Samart over Wangchannoi any day of the week .
I'm sorry but my point was that Samart lost only because of him not Wangchannoi .
Hello ! Does Wangchannoi train in Thailand ? Do you know what is he doing now ?
Thanks,
Best regards,
He's a trainer at Chor Hapayak Gym in Pathumthani.
Even same body type as Gerald Mcclellan

Those uppercuts in a row look fucking treacherous....
This guy beat Samart once.
Sovat samart just gass out.
Kru Toi said Samart had "small lungs" and was a bit lazy with his cardio. But with his ring vision and reflexes he got away with the cardio issue until he met Wangchannoi who ate everything Samart dished out and just kept on coming. Younger, stronger and with an amazing heart.
@@petercarlson811 i personally think Samart won that fight. But Wangchannoi showed he was a young beast. A good changing of the guard showcasing the artistry of Samart and the savagery of Wangchannoi.
Miedo 👽
I hate the music.. So loud.
