The Eastern side of that part of the LA River is so bizarre from the train. On the Western side you've got downtown LA, some of the most expensive real estate in the world, and then on the eastern side you've got A) a ridiculously gigantic warehouse and B) just heaps of random gravel and slag. It's like Mordor over there.
I really like the last one where one was entering in to the turn off to union station while the other was leaving each train acknowledging the other one and then another heading out into another direction, imagine what it must have like in those spots in the 1940s and 1950s. true bliss for a rail lover.

No it was MP36PH-3C #898 with a loud notch 8 acceleration prime mover.
Metrolinks train horns sound more like car horns and the Hyundai Rotem cars look ugly.
