I stretch every day day and night it takes 4 hours each day. I never stop dancing. Even when I’m hurt I find a way to keep up with out doing anything to hurt myself more. I always find new tricks to do. When people say that dance isn’t hard. I always tell them about my commitment. One year ago, I couldn’t do anything that I can know. If you want to be a contortionist you never get a brake. You have to love it. Sometimes people get mad at me because I am gifted with flexiblity. What they don’t understand is how hard it is to do everything. One person told me that I never try. I was gifted with flexiblity, but I couldn’t control it. I thought I was a righty because my sister was a righty and I was right handed. My leaps were awful and it looked like I had no potential. The only thing I had was porcefomence and improv. Those were the only things I was good at. My teachers just recognized that I was flexible in gymnastics class at my studio. I could do chest rolls and backbends like no one else. When I started watching dance moms I looked up to Brooke and Chloe. I wanted to have Brooks acro and Chloe’s technique. I started dancing for hours at a time. But then I was really hurt about what one of my classmates said. They told me I was the favorite and I didn’t try like some of us. She said that I was just flexible and that’s it. I am really tough so I just walked away that night I cried. No one recognized my hard work. Only three of my dance teachers did. I am very thankful for them.
As long as you know within yourself that you are doing your best, please be proud of yourself and forget what all the others are thinking. Your worth ethic and passion for dance is all that is important. The humble dancer always know they can improve and always works their hardest. As long as you know you are doing your best that you can in the moment, let all the other negative words go in one ear and out the other! Keep on Shining!

Abby is too competitive only wanting her best dancer to dance all the time and that's Maddie. The world is cut throat. They were in competitions so I guess in the end Abigail was right to do what she did. I mean we don't put in Olympic wrestlers because we like them only b/c they are the best. The most amazing thing about Brooke is she made these really hard to do tricks look so effortless. She didn't look like she was trying to get the trick right it was just right.

I always loved her legs some people will never have that beautiful line but she did even in her not best dances. You could just see her lack of passion in the show which was sad and often see she was in pain as she got older.
So weird coming across this video and to see how Brooke was portrayed on the show I never really watched Dance Moms but I go to the same college as Brooke and she's super nice!!

Brooke gives me CHILLS whenever I watch her dance. Her and Paige were gifted and talented dancers. I feel like Brooke naturally faded out of dance when the show started as she wanted to do 'normal teenage things' and it surely didn't help that Abby was so awful to her. She was simply talented and gifted.
At the beginning of the video you could see that Brooke would smile and looked happy but at the end her faces were always sad and it looked like she was in pain, you could just tell that she was doing it for everyone else and not for herself

Sometimes I wonder if Brooke has undiagnosed, 'Ehlers Danlos Syndrome'. She definitely has hyper flexibility; but she constantly complained about pain especially in her back. Her joints would come out sometimes. This goes undiagnosed so often especially in the dance and gymnastics world. When I hear her song, 'Hurt', to me that sounds like the story of a dancer with, 'Ehlers Danlos Syndrome'. I can relate to that story being that I was a dancer and I also have 'Ehlers Danlos Syndrome' as well as 'Lupus', 'Chronic Lyme Disease', and a few other tic born and autoimmune disorders. The pain involved with 'Ehlers Danlos Syndrome' as a dancer can definitely make someone not want to dance anymore. So can the emotional abuse she suffered while on the show.
I don’t know if Brooke does, but I have thought that possibly Sarah has Ehlers Danlos! She has the signature eyes and ears that lots of kids with Ehlers Danlos have. That could explain why Brooke was always in pain though
I definitely agree with that. Not everyone has the eye and ear thing, I don't. Sarah is very flexible and her hands are pretty classic for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome also.

I know Brooke really wanted to be a Cirque acrobat, not a dancer necessarily. But after breaking her growth plate and I believe she had an undisclosed injury that prevented her from continuing an acro career. In a youtube video with her and Paige, Paige herself says Brooke would have wanted to be a Cirque de Sol performer, but for her back. Its Paige who gave up dance after the show.
Brooke was always my favourite. She kind of was the one who inspired me to take dancer seriously, I wanted to be just like her. I started stretching and learning acro tricks at about age 9 and danced for years. I've quit now and do cheerleading but I much prefer it to dance as I get to learn tumbling more and work on my flexibility and keep performing
I am actually one of those people that danced as a kid and is just picking up dance again. I started ballet class this year at 28 after not dancing for 15 years!
Brooke has so much talent I think she will be successful in whatever she decides to do in her life. I danced until I was 15 but a down hill skiing accident took me out.
Please do one for little Sarah. I really wanted them to let her be a regular. I understand that maybe she needed to break out of her shell and be independent; but I wish Abby would learn how to celebrate these kids as individuals and celebrate the things that make them each different and special. I think those things are what first makes someone amazing and special. If she really was a good teacher she would show what is specifically special about each person / child. Yes, teach the other stuff too. People become employed dancers for more than one reason.
Now she’s triple majoring in college and will graduate early. She said she’s not into dance anymore but is grateful for her past and experiences. Brooke has done well for herself.
I’m a advanced contortionist! I did dance when I was 3 and 4 and then I quit because I was intrigued by the sight of gymnastics. I did it for 5 years and quit because of many reasons. We would climb the ropes and I’d get deep cuts on my inner thighs. The teachers were very rude. One teacher told me that I should just give up and do dancing. I cried at the gym many times. I decided to quit and start getting back into dancing. For the first year I only did ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contortion, and tumbling. This year I’m doing ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, contortion, and tumbling. I’m very advanced at my studio and really enjoy dancing. At my house I have a studio and I dance in it for hours on end. I’m proud of my many accomplishments and skills I have learned.

I’m not too surprised about Brooke going into fashion because I’ve noticed on her instagram story, she’s been recommending this Accessory store. Btw I love Brooke too, and like you, she was my favorite since the first episode.
There’s an episode on dance moms I feel brook was so much happier dancing with the seniors and she wasn’t as happy when she went back to dancing with the others
Brooke actually danced full time with the teen and senior company. She filmed with the juniors because they wanted all different styles for the cast (remember, the “ALDC elite team was only a team assembled by the producers for the show) and she was the only one who had the extreme acrobatics so they cast her and then cast Paige because they needed another girl and it was easy to have sets of sisters since Kelly and Brooke would always be there (because the parents had to be there while filming was going on).
I wish she had stayed w it, but she had a lot of back paine. She seems to be succeeding in other areas of life though instead. She seems happier, I think Abby broke her heart quite a bit awhile back.
yeah. It was the GET THOSE TRICKS AT ANY COST mentality. It causes extreme swayback, shortens the hamstrings, locks up the lower back and disengages the entire abdominals when you train this way.
I'm not sure what the training was ACTUALLY like at the ALDC, but by the looks of it, they saw TALENT in Brooke and pushed her to the brink of paralyzation. With Acrobatic and Contortion training, it can't be PUSHED on someone, they NEED to do like 4 hours of training and stretching EVERY . DAY. OF. THE. WEEK. And if they aren't, you can't get angry at them, you just can't expect them to do those tricks! or else they will injur themselves. This happens with sooo many young dancers these days unfortunately, because so much emphasis is put on hypermobility and these flexibility and contortion tricks in the Competition circuit, that they incur injuries by 12. When in reality, these tricks don't really book you any jobs! Unless you go work for Cirque Du Soleil lol. If you want to learn Tricks that will book you a Dance Job, learn a roundoff back handspring back tuck, or any of these new parkour style tricks, that's what they are putting in Musicals, TV and Music Videos these days.
1. YES THIS IS THE CONTENT I KNEW YOU COULD DO YOU GET IT! 2. Brooke was has such a God given talent and I wish Abby didn’t squander it by the relationship she had with her mother. 3. I do think that Abby’s studio should have better technique because technique is still part of acro no one wants to see a chest stand with sickled feet or a needle with a bent leg I never considered Abby and acro teacher or the Aldc an acro studio I see he more focused on lyrical but hen dye does have flexible students she utilizes it. When I think of a studio that’s acro heavy I think of Club Dance ( I love club dance) Club dance is the type of studio where most girls can do a scorpion or a chest stand or something even watching club dances practices are mesmerizing. 4 again I love this content from you !!!!!

Brooke was my favorite. It hurt me to watch her have to do kiddy group dances. Her solos where so amazing and I felt so bad for her because as she said she loved to dance but Abby made her passion go away. She is obviously much happier now but I wish her and her sister went to a different studio and maybe she could have followed her dream of being in Circus Solie.
i love brooke and i thought she was amazing, but i feel like her solo choreography was so repetitive every single time with the same moves and the same tricks

I made "les petits rats: in Pari's opera... but like Brooke it took me a long time to speak or to dance.. It reminds me so much hard time with my teacher.. Today I'm 32 years and i decided to take dance's lessons with a ballet teacher... And today i love to dance thanks to my teacher... But i lost my flexibility....

Your comment about auditions reminded me of a DVD commentary I saw. The actress was talking about the first movie role she got. During the audition she was paying a babysitter. As soon as the audition ended she rushed home. She got the role. Years later she asked the director why he cast her. He said when she went to leave she didn’t just turn, she literally did a “jump turn”. That stuck with him. That was the energy he wanted. She was just trying to get home so she didn’t have to pay the babysitter more. So she said she got her first movie role because she didn’t want to pay the babysitter for another hour. You never know what the other person sees.
When he said about the triple fold in her back and I got really confused cause I did gymnastics since I was 3 and I could barely do a bridge 😂 but now I started dance when I was 12 and now I'm nearly 16 but I didn't know I could triple fold my back until about two years ago because I've never been flexible in my back. And I'm just really confused because now I'm becoming a contortionist and I was never bendy when I was younger
You probably just weren't as focused on your flexibility as a kid. I am the same way. I was never flexible as a kid and now I can do front and back limbers and I'm almost 30. But I didn't start really stretching my back until I was 19 other than doing a simple bridge when I Was a kid.
It all boils down to consistency! you are probably constantly using your flexibility all the time now! I think a big belief we hold our entire lives is that it is sooo hard to get flexible. But if we get rid of that belief, we will start to actively stretch and take it more seriously. Wishing you the best on your contortion journey!

Brooke has so much talent I think she will be successful in whatever she decides to do in her life. I danced until I was 15 but a down hill skiing accident took me out.
Please do one for little Sarah. I really wanted them to let her be a regular. I understand that maybe she needed to break out of her shell and be independent; but I wish Abby would learn how to celebrate these kids as individuals and celebrate the things that make them each different and special. I think those things are what first makes someone amazing and special. If she really was a good teacher she would show what is specifically special about each person / child. Yes, teach the other stuff too. People become employed dancers for more than one reason.
Now she’s triple majoring in college and will graduate early. She said she’s not into dance anymore but is grateful for her past and experiences. Brooke has done well for herself.
She’s so talented would love to see her dance again!
I’m a advanced contortionist! I did dance when I was 3 and 4 and then I quit because I was intrigued by the sight of gymnastics. I did it for 5 years and quit because of many reasons. We would climb the ropes and I’d get deep cuts on my inner thighs. The teachers were very rude. One teacher told me that I should just give up and do dancing. I cried at the gym many times. I decided to quit and start getting back into dancing. For the first year I only did ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contortion, and tumbling. This year I’m doing ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, contortion, and tumbling. I’m very advanced at my studio and really enjoy dancing. At my house I have a studio and I dance in it for hours on end. I’m proud of my many accomplishments and skills I have learned.
Great job! Keep working hard and don't let other people hold you back!

I’m not too surprised about Brooke going into fashion because I’ve noticed on her instagram story, she’s been recommending this Accessory store.
Btw I love Brooke too, and like you, she was my favorite since the first episode.
The show edited out every time she smiled or laughed.
There’s an episode on dance moms I feel brook was so much happier dancing with the seniors and she wasn’t as happy when she went back to dancing with the others
Brooke actually danced full time with the teen and senior company. She filmed with the juniors because they wanted all different styles for the cast (remember, the “ALDC elite team was only a team assembled by the producers for the show) and she was the only one who had the extreme acrobatics so they cast her and then cast Paige because they needed another girl and it was easy to have sets of sisters since Kelly and Brooke would always be there (because the parents had to be there while filming was going on).
I wish she had stayed w it, but she had a lot of back paine. She seems to be succeeding in other areas of life though instead. She seems happier, I think Abby broke her heart quite a bit awhile back.
yeah. It was the GET THOSE TRICKS AT ANY COST mentality. It causes extreme swayback, shortens the hamstrings, locks up the lower back and disengages the entire abdominals when you train this way.
I'm not sure what the training was ACTUALLY like at the ALDC, but by the looks of it, they saw TALENT in Brooke and pushed her to the brink of paralyzation. With Acrobatic and Contortion training, it can't be PUSHED on someone, they NEED to do like 4 hours of training and stretching EVERY . DAY. OF. THE. WEEK. And if they aren't, you can't get angry at them, you just can't expect them to do those tricks! or else they will injur themselves. This happens with sooo many young dancers these days unfortunately, because so much emphasis is put on hypermobility and these flexibility and contortion tricks in the Competition circuit, that they incur injuries by 12. When in reality, these tricks don't really book you any jobs! Unless you go work for Cirque Du Soleil lol. If you want to learn Tricks that will book you a Dance Job, learn a roundoff back handspring back tuck, or any of these new parkour style tricks, that's what they are putting in Musicals, TV and Music Videos these days.

3. I do think that Abby’s studio should have better technique because technique is still part of acro no one wants to see a chest stand with sickled feet or a needle with a bent leg
I never considered Abby and acro teacher or the Aldc an acro studio I see he more focused on lyrical but hen dye does have flexible students she utilizes it. When I think of a studio that’s acro heavy I think of Club Dance ( I love club dance) Club dance is the type of studio where most girls can do a scorpion or a chest stand or something even watching club dances practices are mesmerizing.

Dance moms inspired me so much to dance I’ve Danced since end of season 5 and I will continue to love it. Dance moms is my favorite show still!

Brooke was my favorite. It hurt me to watch her have to do kiddy group dances. Her solos where so amazing and I felt so bad for her because as she said she loved to dance but Abby made her passion go away. She is obviously much happier now but I wish her and her sister went to a different studio and maybe she could have followed her dream of being in Circus Solie.

I made "les petits rats: in Pari's opera... but like Brooke it took me a long time to speak or to dance.. It reminds me so much hard time with my teacher.. Today I'm 32 years and i decided to take dance's lessons with a ballet teacher... And today i love to dance thanks to my teacher... But i lost my flexibility....
She does keep up with stretching and she is still really flexible, she put a video up on her TikTok about it

Your comment about auditions reminded me of a DVD commentary I saw. The actress was talking about the first movie role she got. During the audition she was paying a babysitter. As soon as the audition ended she rushed home. She got the role. Years later she asked the director why he cast her. He said when she went to leave she didn’t just turn, she literally did a “jump turn”. That stuck with him. That was the energy he wanted. She was just trying to get home so she didn’t have to pay the babysitter more. So she said she got her first movie role because she didn’t want to pay the babysitter for another hour. You never know what the other person sees.

When he said about the triple fold in her back and I got really confused cause I did gymnastics since I was 3 and I could barely do a bridge 😂 but now I started dance when I was 12 and now I'm nearly 16 but I didn't know I could triple fold my back until about two years ago because I've never been flexible in my back. And I'm just really confused because now I'm becoming a contortionist and I was never bendy when I was younger
You probably just weren't as focused on your flexibility as a kid. I am the same way. I was never flexible as a kid and now I can do front and back limbers and I'm almost 30. But I didn't start really stretching my back until I was 19 other than doing a simple bridge when I Was a kid.

It all boils down to consistency! you are probably constantly using your flexibility all the time now! I think a big belief we hold our entire lives is that it is sooo hard to get flexible. But if we get rid of that belief, we will start to actively stretch and take it more seriously. Wishing you the best on your contortion journey!

You may be a dance coach but you're not a dance coach reacting to videos of Brook's dance evolution. There's no comments about her performance, technique or how she developed over time. Just some general comments and simple facts you can find online. Not sure if it got better towards the end but honestly got bored and only watched the first half.

Jordan Sparks Most reaction videos will pause the video as they critique rather than talking over it, because I agree, it’s annoying. I understand why you did that now, but then watching you watch the video becomes bit pointless. Maybe create your script around the videos. After you make a point, use the video to back it up.

I’m from Ohio I wasn’t aware Brooke goes to one of the biggest party schools in my state OU I considered going there but she’s expensive and not really good for what I wanted to major in. The fact that I have a chance of meeting her is so cool
