Shadow of intent is awesome and super original. can’t wait to watch this video (but not until I drop this comment because my opinion must be known that I like bens band)
That bit about people being afraid to talk about the grim things in life really hit hard. That's a perfect explanation as to why I and I'm sure many people like metal, because we aren't afraid to stand up and face reality. It's a way of coping, it's a form of art. A dark form of art, but art nonetheless.
Tom Barber should be a cool guest if you're planning to, think we all want to know what's the differences between Lorna Shore and Chelsea Grin(Writing music, influences and other stuffs) (Pardon my English, I'm not a native speaker...)
Let's see.. I'm so completely almost as unqualified as I could possibly be to answer this but I totes got this. I've never listened to Lorna Shore. Or been in either band.... For longer than a year or so anyway. I spent most of my time being the genius behind Shadow of Intent, writing all of the Beatles music for them to play, creating the grunge genre shortly after initiating what they are calling the "New wave of British heavy metal" (to me I set a few bands via some introductions and told them I thought they should play heavier stuff.. It wasn't even a thing). After that I just dicked around on guitar which lead me to being Dimebag Darrel's biggest influence to his guitar playing, then teaching Jason Richardson to play the guitar later on (he was average at best among my pupils) and later rounding it off by teaching Phil Bozeman how to get his current sound from the Miley Cyrus-esque sound he had at the time and was struggling with. So yeah.. Those are just some of my smaller achievements, I've been pretty busy over the last very long time. Caused some bad things to happen really... Like when I didn't really have time to produce "... And Justice For All" and more importantly discuss their future direction musically with this band called Metallica around the time of that album I couldn't produce. Really caused them to go downhill after that album, was really unfortunate honestly, one of my biggest regrets in life... Anyway. The difference between Lorna Shore and CG being that Tom actually had to try in Lorna Shore you know? If he sounded like crap it would really have stuck out like a sore thumb. This is kind of like a vacation for him, being in CG because if he writes lyrics for his material before they start recording his vocals or even listens to the recorded rest of the song that the band wrote before getting into the vocal booth and completely winging it he'll stand out in a bad way because it'd sound like he is a slightly proficient musician, which is of course not the sound Chelsea Grin goes for. For his guess vocal part in Shadow of Intents "The Prophets Beckoning" Tom had all of his teeth removed and had dentures fitted so he could take them out for that guest vocal appearance. Gave him an insane lisp and weird sound of a dude that had no teeth. Not sure if he does this with CG but I'll ask next time I see him. Not sure if he's coming to my BBQ next weekend, the rest of CG aren't because I told them Alex Khoeler was coming. He's Chelsea's ex if you didn't know... They are being petty drama queens. Children... Sigh. Not the of Bodom kind either. Which reminds me I play all instruments for Children of Bodom and do vocals. Live as well. Makes for a very spacious tour bus only being me... That's where Brendan Small got the idea for Dethklok by the way. Glad he included my song crush your battle opponents balls which I wrote about the single game I was brought in to play a little ball, throw the pigskin around with the New York Giants against the New England Pat's, must have been Feb 5 what.. 8 years ago? Fuckin Tom Brady called our scrimmage "Super Bowl XLVI" hahaha not sure where the XLVI came from but you can Ask Tom why he called it the Super Bowl during our pre-game sesh! Lmao, good times. Anyway because of me we won that game. Kind of surprised me because I only rushed 865 yards that game, either way though, I dubbed the song "Crush my Battle Opponents Balls" cuz that's what I did there. Pissed me off that they even scored when I was eating my nachos Madonna FINALLY BROUGHT ME from concessions. Let my anger out by writing that on my 2 year Olds plastic guitar about the length of a ruler and neck rigidity of hardened play-doh. Sounded a bit worse than the recorded version which I also played that guitar for, authenticity purposes you know.

This video is old but if someone wants to come along and tell me I have nothing to worry about and they kick ass feel very free to do so... Please.
I love to see bands being fans of other bands. It's such a weird thing in the music industry, like you aren't allowed to say anything nice about other bands in the genre.
I know I’m super late but this was inspirational to me I do vocals myself and I wish I could be in a band but it’s tough cause I don’t know any people that play good or if I do it never works out
I’m an aspiring fantasy author & I write a lot about torture or dark things in my writing & despite that I’m not evil or do evil things so it’s very much so a thing I relate to. Just because you write about or sing about dark things doesn’t mean you’re going to go out & do those things. So I understand how Ben & Phil feel being considered “evil” when they’re really not.
That album alone made him fucked up his voice due to amount of hatred and anger he put into his false chords. Sure, false chords fuck your throat up but with the emotion he put into that album, he made it worse on himself.
@@Nameless2004 Hmm no I dont think they do neccessarily, Im doing throat singing and false chord gutturals since 15 years, all good with my voice. I do take care of it tho
@@ShoutAtMeElmo Well, that's new. I tried doing false chord and came back home one night with my voice blown out for 3 weeks. Ever since then I've been doing fry mids and highs with false chord guttarals since they dont seem to dont anything to my voice.
@@Nameless2004 interesting. Obviously it’s impossible to make a proper diagnose, but often people misplace them. If you feel vibration is the larynx it’s bad. Strength comes from diagram as always, the vibration should be felt higher up. If you learn the ancient throat singing technique it can clear it up. It’s also a fun skill to have anyways
@@Nameless2004 your slip knot cover sounds great, If I can give you a bit of feedback would be: work on diaphragm support, and don’t take it lightly. Do more exercise than singing until your voice stops breaking. There’s already a Corey Taylor, you don’t need to fuck your voice up for RUclips covers. Chris Liepe is a good free source
Around 35min talking about supporting bands, its so true. So mamy great bands thst really had potential to get big ir even sorta were, died from a lack of support and exposure. Like The Red Chord, sick OG deathcore/modern death metal, but they had to stop due to lack of income(at least to my knowledge)
CHECK OUT AND SUPPORT INFERI!!!! SAW THEM EITH shadows last month and also thjs comment applies to them, been around for a bit but never heard of them tim that shkw and be came a fan right away, sick music and amazing musicians. Guitarust is a chill dude, met him after their ser and he let me talk his ear off haha but... I think I made a similar comment years ago when i first saw this. Shadows have grown so much. Saw them for the first time last month and theyre sick live. But hope people continue support them too, so they can keep going.
They cover a variety of genres and u can tell through there music and do it very well...! Love this band. My fiance' is Christian and doesnt care for metal and I explain to her this is how I release from everyday life. Always have always will...! She respects me and I respect her. Ying and yang i guess
This is so real and so sad. I love these guys and I respect the fuck out of Phil. I think his vocals are the best because he had this chip on his shoulder and rose above the violence.
When it comes to deathcore, Phil is definitely head and shoulders above the rest. Powerful lows, devastating gutterals, and solid highs. Sure, guys like CJ McCreery and Alex Terrible are up there too, but none of them would be around without the foundation Phil laid down.
It’s crazy knowing about Ben’s old posts being obsessed with Whitechapel and how it was one of his favorite bands ever. And to see him touring and doing a live stream with Phil himself is honestly very heartwarming

The realest part of this video is Ben's roomba dead in a random part of the kitchen. so expensive and they're trash.
Hey man! I love both of your music! Have you ever thought to have a show in Finland? That would be awesome!
Ben was so cute with his dog, damn
I know I’m super late but this was inspirational to me I do vocals myself and I wish I could be in a band but it’s tough cause I don’t know any people that play good or if I do it never works out
I’m an aspiring fantasy author & I write a lot about torture or dark things in my writing & despite that I’m not evil or do evil things so it’s very much so a thing I relate to. Just because you write about or sing about dark things doesn’t mean you’re going to go out & do those things. So I understand how Ben & Phil feel being considered “evil” when they’re really not.
The man came back
Phil you're back! Love you so much. You should make more gaming vids! Are you getting the new COD? Do you play Battlefield at all?
Eunice Kim nah, he mentioned before a few times that he doesn't like battlefield
Iowa sure was the angriest of all time. I mean event he screams of the album were done with mostly emotion and 15% technique.
Hey Ben hope to see you in Europe in the future! In the Netherlands/Belgium would be nice! Phil if you wanna join ur welcome aswell ofcourse ;)
Please keep uploading PLEASEEEEE
Hey Ben. Sucks they did that to you at Jannis live in St Pete. I remember that lol but you still killed it.
Hey my birthday is September 22 we close Ben
Phil said "like" probably 752 times
I took ashot everytime he said like
Im throwing up currentlu
This is so real and so sad. I love these guys and I respect the fuck out of Phil. I think his vocals are the best because he had this chip on his shoulder and rose above the violence.
When it comes to deathcore, Phil is definitely head and shoulders above the rest. Powerful lows, devastating gutterals, and solid highs.
Sure, guys like CJ McCreery and Alex Terrible are up there too, but none of them would be around without the foundation Phil laid down.
Please come back to RUclips Phil!
PHIL UPLOADED!!!
He's baaaack
Just want to tell you I love you phil
