Legit question In The Horror Within, you have a line that says "The inner machinations of their mind are an enigma". Did you take that line from SpongeBob? As you would have guessed by my profile picture, I'm a pretty big SpongeBob fan
Does it bother you that your lows are dirtier than nuns power squatting in a cucumber patch? No joke though... Your music is incredibly intense and im picky with music and i cant stop listening to you guys, keep up the amazing work!
I honestly wasn't sure how I would like the new album. But I also didn't listen to the first album too much, or enough :D. But, this new album.... I've been listening to it for 4 days straight. It's fucking amazing. Favorite songs right now are The Gathering of All, The Prophets Beckoning, and your instrumental The Schism. But the whole album is just A+. I'm glad I listened to it. Now it's in my opinion, top 3 of 2017 with Lorna Shore's album and Aversions Crown's.
I cheered all loud when you said Dimmu was your favorite black metal band. Dimmu got me into heavier stuff and their writing has always been top shelf. And I"m also glad that I'm one of the supporters for Primordial. Its seriously an amazing album and it WILL go down as one of the best albums ever. I feel like this is just the beginning for you guys, and I'll be supporting you all the way.
After hearing a song from reclaimer I instantly bought both albums. This band easily feel into some of the rare ones that actually touches my soul as I listen. Please just continue to keep making breathtakingly euphoric music and don't stray from your sound or emotion of your lyrics
Not to me, personally.. I don't judge by just what someone looks like, though. xD I mean, that's kind of like sayin' Waking the Cadaver look like the same, just because they have snapback hats on in promotional photos and such. But if you actually analyze the context, they're wearing Devourment, Behemoth, Suffocation, Dying Fetus, Gorgasm, etc. t-shirts and so on. So it's quite obvious that that's not the case .. I'd say the same about Ben (in this video, I see posters of metal bands and such in the background; plus I'm aware of his band), but to each their own. For me to say Ben looks like he's about to drop a rap album, I'd have to see some context that confirms it from Ben himself (him posting something about working on producing a album in the rap-genre). Then, it'd actually make sense to me, to say that he looks like he's about to drop a rap album for us. Looks just got nothing to do with it. Plus, the way he's dressed in this video/how he dresses in other videos I've seen him in and such is pretty common among metalcore/deathcore/etc. groups. So that, personally, wouldn't tell me in any way that he's been working on the production of a rap album that's about to be released.
Virgin Smasher ohh yes for angelmaker, cant deny though, the split they did with a night in texas, angelmaker won that one xD still love a night in texas though
5 years later just saw you guys with whitechapel and cannibal corpse. Keep it up dude you guys are killing it! By far one of my favorite bands! Looking forward to every new project you guys release
I kind of wish the synths weren't there in that track/album, would've liked it more personally; however, that doesn't disinterest me from it in any way. The Heretic Prevails has been my favorite track thus far. The synths make sense too now that I know the band is heavily Halo-themed. Not that every Halo-themed musical act needs to have synths in their tunes, but I'd say that fits the general style.
I'm so upset!!!!!!!!!! I am only just finding out that you guys were in Cincinatti in 2017!!!! I neeeeed to see y'all live ASAP!! You are literally my favorite band ever. Vocals, breakdowns, drums, absolutely amazing. Please please please come to Louisville KY asap!!!!
Thanks to spotify i started listening to you guys last summer, then I heard Reclaimer was coming out and I was freaking the fuck out. I literally had Reclaimer on repeat all day at work today and holy shit im speechless. Hands down one of my favorite deathcore albums, its just soooo fucking fast and technical. Keep it up man, your vocals are godly, hope you guys tour soon and come to Syracuse NY!
aye I'm 14 to, and I belive I almost got my vocals down. You are one of my biggest inspirations! keep doing what your doing and keep doing fuckin great
Kinda stumbled upon this band a couple of days ago and just when I totally got into it, I found out they're coming to perform in my city in April. Super excited!
I know Eddie Hermida has pretty much trashed his rep in the deathcore community, but I can't help but be excited for the new All Shall Perish album. Do you feel the same way?
Say Gogoroth, says Gogoroth. More Shadow Of Intent, I love you guys, Born Of Osiris, Veil Of Maya, and Carnifex when it comes to deathcore. I love Cradle Of Filth glad you mentioned them!
your one of my biggest inspirations, shadow of intent is one of the first bands i tried doing the vocals of (the first being lorna shore). it's also single handed my kept me playing guitar at times, which btw i think it's cool we both seem to like the mad tyrants betrayal so much.
out of the unsc, do you like marines, odst, classic spartans, or the new game spartans the most? out of the covenant what are your favorite species/soldier type? do you cry when Johnson says "send me out with a bang?"
all i know is keep up with shadow of intent, youve very quickly became one of my favorite vocalists, huge inspiration to me personally. keep makin music because you are fucking good at it. i do wanna ask though, how was it working with luke griffin on your badass part on human errors e.p.?
Dude I'm ashamed to say that I for some obscure reason snob your band without taking the time to listen to it....now I realize what a fuckin mistake I've made...You've got a fan for a life time!
Hey man, just wondering how do you write the lyrics for your songs? How do you take these specific events in Halo and expand upon them for these 4-6 minute long songs?
when will you guys tour for reclaimer?? honestly this is the metal album of the year for me. The only reason ive taken it out of my cd player in the car is when my son wanted to listen to Kiss or the phineas and ferbs cd I bought for him.
Ryan Scanlon Man I swear when I hear his vocals I imagine Brutes and Elites of the covenant if they were to sing metal vocals, Ben literally sings like a fucking monster. It's insane and I love it.
They've been entirely independent this whole time including release, but their loyal fans have spread the word far. Hopefully we'll see them tour soon, or maybe some other bands can get them to front over there for tour; that'll get word out.
A lot goes into it. It ain't just yer vocal chords or just your throat, sure that plays a role in it all, but ultimately a lot of things factor into doing harsh vocals (extreme metal vocals). A lot of the sounds come from other areas in your cheeks (inside your mouth) and mouth-shape, tongue position/movement, amount of breathe utilized/pushed out, etc. there's so much that goes into it. An easy way to look at it is like working out. Because the description would fit for harsh vocals. For example, when you do harsh vocals, you're working out the muscles in your throat that do play their role (not tearing them up, if it hurts, that's a bad sign; yes you feel something, yes it can get sore, but while acting doing it; it shouldn't be hurting unless the individual is doing something wrong; it may be strenuous, it may feel 'odd' in yer throat, etc. but it shouldn't hurt or feel that things are being completely torn. sure, you feel the harshness, that's unavoidable unless yer gonna whisper them quietly... but again, working out; can you do 500 sit-ups straight? most people can't, but the more practice you put in, anyone can ultimately achieve that if it's their goal to). So yea, when doing these kinds of vocals, tearing isn't possible to the throat or vocal chords (that I'm aware of) unless ya done did something wrong. Which every vocalist is prone to, because we're all people. But the key is to learn what's wrong, and what's correct. The wrong 'will' hurt, and you'll notice it (red flag that yer doin it wrong), the right 'will not' hurt at all, but will feel maybe "uncomfortable" and take 'some time' to get used to. You can see others explain it online. But this should be a slightly decent overview of how it works. Warming up is crucial too. Even experienced vocalists can make mistakes when just diving in. Not that it isn't possible to do so, it certainly is possible; but mistakes are more likely to happen without any warming up (working your way into it; practicing for a bit, stretching, etc. before going "all out").
Legit question

MORE SHADOW OF INTENT!

reclaimer was fucking awesome
Does it bother you that your lows are dirtier than nuns power squatting in a cucumber patch? No joke though... Your music is incredibly intense and im picky with music and i cant stop listening to you guys, keep up the amazing work!

He looks like he is about to drop a rap album xD BUT those screams that come out of your mouth is godlike

Ben you need more content on your RUclips. You’re a bad ass.
So cool that he likes black metal! I've felt kinda alone enjoying real black metal in the DC community.
Same here. I'm happy to see others who aren't afraid to admit their music interests/influences.
The heretic prevails has been my jam for quite sometime it’s my main practise song absolutely fucking love the song!
I kind of wish the synths weren't there in that track/album, would've liked it more personally; however, that doesn't disinterest me from it in any way. They've been entirely independent this whole time including release, but their loyal fans have spread the word far. Hopefully we'll see them tour soon, or maybe some other bands can get them to front over there for tour; that'll get word out.
Ever listened to Vulvodynia? If so, would you be interested in writing a song with Duncan Bentley
he's featured in a song written by one of the members of vulvo
Abhorrent Juno Ben and Duncan did a vocal cover of Infant Annihilator songs, just search it
Is Andrew a permanent member?
How do you not tear up your throat/vocal chords every night?
It has to do with proper technique and diaphragm usage, as well as proper breath control.
Also I just realized I’m a year late for this comment lol
