"Kick the tires and lite the fires". That was hilarious. And always bring Hal the mechanic with you. We all need Hal. Thanks Hal. Thanks Trent and Halley
"First one in the air is the leader. Brief on Guard!"
Water Town is the right name if it rains like that!
Can’t wait till next year! That was so fun!
I did get some good drone shots;)
A year later here... with Osh Kosh cancelled :( . Came back to rewatch it!
NexT YEAR IS CANCELLED
Trent, I got a little experience on welding up header tubes and exhaust systems. Best way to go is to Tig weld it with Hastelloy rod. I kind of fell into this by chance. I was Atlanta Motor Speedway and got a crack at end of the boom-tube on my car. Bad deal, the chip falls off right in front of the rear tire and you could lose a car. All I had was a little Mig Welder and that patch job didn't sit well with me. Bright Idea! there is an airport right next to the track - Aviators are cool, and someone has got to have a Tig Welder over there I can use. This was a Saturday afternoon, and I all I could find was one open door on a Turbine Engine shop. The owner was there in the office and was willing to help a fellow out. They use that rod on Turbine Engines for a reason - and wait until you weld with that stuff on carboned-up exhaust parts. You'll wonder what the hell you have been doing all your life. It is the secret sauce Bro! Stainless or Mild Steel - Samey Same.
Trent & Hailstorm you guys do an amazing vlog together! Trent your filming and production blows me away absolutely love it. ❤ ❤
I agree here for sure.
Huey FPV And "Hailstorm" Is getting more comfortable in front of the camera !!! Great !!! She has nothing to worry about she is a pretty girl !!! !
I agree too. Love that vlog !!
You should make a shirt that says
“Little planes are sketch”
With her silhouette going 🤷🏻♂️
I'll buy one!
Id buy one!
I'll take 2
May daughter wants one
I'm totally in for one of these
Wyoming wind sock is a piece of anchor chain from an aircraft carrier.
Two items. One always keep footwear in mind if that emergency happens. Too easy for flip flops to come off then your barefoot after your emergency landing. Other is cover the bottom half of Haley's door. Mentioned before it might maker her more comfortable at higher altitudes. It is a mind thing that might help. Great video!
Trent, you always take the time to answer a question. Your interactions with your subscribers is surely one of many keys to your success. Was wondering about the same question asked about safe off field landings in areas not known. Thanks brother
I believe I responded to his, I know I responded to one. We have apps that show land ownership and then we “shop the field” which is basically do a bunch of fly overs looking for any help obstacles or obstructions
Agreed Re: Exhaust header. Some re-engineering of that is indicated.
"lil planes are sketch" would look cool on a flying cowboys t-shirt
Passed my Private Pilot Checkride 24 hrs ago, thank you for being an inspiration Trent! Hope some day I will have a gang of flying buddies to play with as well.
Does anyone else want to sit down and have a beer with Hal? He just seems like a cool cat to talk to!
Hal reminds me of my Dad [God rest his gentle, lovely soul...] he would almost always have grease and dirt on his overalls, and on his hands, but would hug and rough-house with us like that... When my mum would complain - he went out and bought her another washing machine - we had 7 as I grew up! 3 at the same time one time...
To this day, I have firm, unhesitating handshakes with mechanics, not minding the grease on their hands!
Yeah I talked to him a little at oshkosh. Seemed like a real down to earth guy that knows airplanes
yeah, I have had that thought a few times when he has been in the videos. He is the guy I would like have on a trip.
Ya have ta know that any guy that carries a spare prop strapped to the wing struts and can get a spare engine delivered to a dirt road in the middle of nowhere has to have his stuff together!!! Then he swaps engines along said dirt road and catches up with the group in Oshkosh the next day. THAT is the guy you want flying with your group! Hal seems to be very unassuming, no flash an flurry, just an easy going guy who happens to be extremely competent. I think The Flying Cowboys know how fortunate they are.
bazillian dollar carbon cub and they cant even get the cabin sealed to keep the rain out. lol.
🤭🤣
Well she said "sketch" that kinda gives a complete breakdown of the lack in Intelligence Quotient.
Does hating on the Carbon Cub make them less awesome?
@@flycory NOPE! I WANT ONE!
Clear prop lets go! Then Hal walks right in front of propeller.1:43
Trent & Hailstorm => Trailstorm!!!!
As a controller I've been working the airspace south of Custer since 2007. I think I've seen a total of maybe 3-4 airplanes on flight following or IFR land there in that time.
Divining rods... clearly the most universal tool in the toolbox. In spit of the difficulties (broken exhaust :/ seems like a common thing) it's very satisfying to watch you guys flying low and slow. That's how aviation started. All you need are some mail bags :) Glad to see that Hailstorm was able to enjoy the flight back.
Your group is Awesome the way they look after each other.
Wow, usually when we use those rods and crossed like that. We found water, lol. Locating underground water lines etc.
Palmer, the production level of your vlogs is amazing. Makes it exciting and enjoyable to watch. Kudos to you sir. Keep them coming 👍
Thanks Dan!
Beautiful countryside. Thanks for sharing.
This really made me miss home. I grew up in S.D. and am now stuck in GA. You do great videos.
Yeah buddy, I know exactly how you feel! I'm from Montana stuck in Tennessee.
Awesome edit, looks like so much fun, loved Hailey "witching" to decide on flying!!!😂
Hailey with the "Witching Wands" cracks me up! We used a willow switch to find water on our homestead in Alaska in the 1950's and later in California, but waving them around to decide whether we'll go flying is just a hoot!! Hailey will get a smile from any guy with a pulse... I guess I'm no different. ;^)
Trent! You and Haley make one of RUclips's best couples. I hope this is a trend, It's a good Trend.
Glad you see you guys (and gals) are making progress after the setbacks you encountered on day 1. Like you said, there truly is never a dull moment! And I’m also glad to see that Hailey is having a good time despite her initial fears. She seems to be slowly warming up to flying. And lastly, I liked your choice of music. It fit the video very nicely. I wish you and Hailey a safe trip home, Trent. And the others as well. Looking forward to the next part!
Excellent combination of adventure, humor and beautiful sights!
Trent has the mad editing skills! Nobody else can manage dropping daily vlogs. Trent does 'em and they look like he worked on them for a week.
Riverboat yeah really. I can't even produce quality like that in a week!
First time I ever got to take off on my own was out of Watertown as a kid in my old man's 182
Went to A&P school years ago in Watertown SD... Lived there for 2 years.. Thanks for posting up, brings back memories !
Welcome to Custer County Airport, and Custer, SD. Black Hills, my home town and I fly out there.
So many amazing aspects of this entry! May need to get a DC3 to fly support with a full fab shop hook up!
Well, "Lawn Mower III" seems to be the "Duty Freighter" for this trip. It does look a bit strange to see the guy flying along with a spare prop strapped to the wing struts, but it works! Those bomb-shaped bins on the struts are probably full of parts & tools & stuff. ;^)
Give Mikie McBrian aka plane savers a call,, they’ve got a fresh DC3 sitting around,,
Classic. So good to tag along with you guys. Low and slow. Its the best kind of travel.
Trent, you have amazing video making skills. It's such fun to watch!
You can always drive the rest of the way. 😉 Love your vlogs. Great work.
All I can say is thank you! You guys rock! If I’m not lucky enough to be flying I could watch y’all fly all day. Keep up the great content🤙🏻🛩✈️🛫🛬
I've been binge watching your channel on my trip back to California from Florida. You're giving me the desire build a plane and get back into flying.
Well. Darn! Was less than three minutes up the road from the Watertown airport. Wish I had known the whole crew was stranded there for a bit. I woulda brought some food and drinks!
Stay safe! Thanks for allowing us to tag along!
You guys rock. Absolutely love how you constantly are working as a team!
Fantastic herd of speed goats!
N219VP in the background at KRWL. I used to fly that plane!
*Absolutely hilarious!* You get invited into all these super huge, super luxurious hangars along the way ... when the weather is okay. But once the rain starts falling for real ... all the FlyingCowboy airplanes are parked outside. Well, I guess the dust needs to be washed off eventually. Where are the clips of you guys out with rags in the rain wiping your airplanes clean? Hahaha! :-)
Dame you make a senior citizen jealous. Great vides, great flying, music editing and super neat friends. And not to forget a good-looking Co-Pilot. Trent you are a very lucky man. You guys seam to have it all.
Great filmography!
HEY how about that "Hailey", what a champ.
Trent, she's a keeper but then you know that.
Great time y'all!
I’m so blessed to be able to call Wyoming home 😊
Dude I just left Wyoming after a month working on pipeline in service work on the rim of the Flaming Gorge. The wind, it never stops. The natives say it's because "Idaho blows and Nebraska sucks". 🤔😂🤣
Man you both are doing it right. Used to fly with my father-in-law but he’s up in years now so I have continued my journey with you. Keep it up. Short final!
Super cool adventure.
Good Stuff! Happy Landings!
Great add shot for Bose headphones,,,
Something about a lone windmill on the prairie...
Adding your planes...”Magnificent”👍
So cool meeting you at Oskosh. I’m getting a plane so I can become a flying cowboy
It was great seeing you guys in Watertown and so much fun helping you fuel up! Sorry about all the rain lol.. Glad y'all made it home safe! 😎
In Worland, Wyoming for the week of Washakie County Fair, and the wind did blow up big in the afternoon a couple days ago. Would not want to be flying in it. Then it was gone.
I have absolutely nothing to do with aviation but I really enjoy these videos
Great job
Thanks Daniel!!
Sir it's amazing
Thanks for the posts. I, land bound with my head in the clouds, appreciate all you show.
Great time watching you go and come back. Many a nights at the Ramkota in Watertown.
Always like to wake up to a notification for a new one of your vlogs... I know it takes time. but its well worth it.....
Used to live in Watertown..
Trent --Your shots of the other planes are EPIC. Hope you blow them up and stick on the new house!! Or sell them!!!
Always impressive videography - loved the thunder / lightning audio and video in the beginning. That was great, along with all the other shots on this one! 😎👍👍
I see aviation is no different than getting a big group of motorcycles together. Always some breakdowns, especially with the older Harleys. Fuel line leaks, electrical fires, oil leaks, and parts shaking themselves free. 😁 Looks like someone needs to design an exhaust system for those planes modeled after 2-stroke dirt bikes or paramotors. A couple, or a few joints with captured springs to ease the stresses. Even then, they still crack. Common in the paramotor world, too. Light weight steel never lasts, and stainless and titanium are insanely expensive. No easy answers there.
Looks like Our Wyoming Life's pasture and windmill ...lol
Somebody has seen Captain Ron! Classic!
You make me want to go back and get my Pilots license. Only issue is I need to buy four place plane. Thinking the bearhawk would be a good option
Same here about the four place, but looking into the Zeniths
thnikkamax bearhawk is what I meant to say
7:58 just like the fuel truck "EPIC"
just love your videos. thanks for your time in doing them
Living th dream -this is why I watch this channel
LoL love the weather charmer... funny
Hmmmm, so thats what my go bag is missing, dousing rods added to the go bag, check!
Custer South Dakota - you got to checkout the hamburgers there. We stopped there on our Oshkosh Adventure in the late 90’s in our Mooney 231. That year we flew from Bridgeport CT to somewhere in Ontario Canada to Rockford to OSH to Custer SD to Denver to Rockford then back to Canada to pick my friends son then Bridgeport to clear customs. I agree - it’s not the destination, the adventure is in the trip.
Yeah trent I look at your Videos at night after I finish sumping the trucks, what ever have to do at my airport.
Hailstorm has lost her Green Tint!! Great vid!
Riders on the storm.
The longer I watch your vids the more I love this channel! Love having your better half along for the ride too!
Adventure...memories...epic.
Glad you all are making it back safely! Thanks for sharing the journey!
Looking forward to see day 3 returning home. Awsome videos Trent and Haley.
Kick the tires and Lite the fires!
You should have gone south to Saratoga, WY instead of Rawlings or as a side trip. It is cool little town in a river valley so it is green and lush compared to Rawlings. There is also a free hot springs that you can soak in that is open 24/7. It has a much better vibe than Rawlings by far.
No G in Rawlins teach, stick to math
Sooooo much fun to watch you guys 😃 Get home safe ☀️☀️☀️
Look at them bird's...go...ya...good Times...
Great video, as always. Good to see the ladies enjoying the trip!
Hal is my favorite person ever lol
Drove through Watertown last Monday. It was raining like a bitch. All the farmers are tired of the rain.
Jamming tunes, gotta chair dance. 💆 with a great adventure.
As we say in Wyoming. “ Oh that’s not wind, you haven’t seen the wind yet!”
These videos are so well done. Enjoying watching the trip!
Everybody in Oshkosh
Such cool video, I've only seen the middle U.S. from 35,000. So amazing that you guys can set down about anywhere, so freeing! By the way your music is GREAT!
Nicely done. Thanks for the awesome scenic ride.
Best Oshkosh trip home yet!
Nice job Trent! 👍🏻🤠
Cool, great music and video. Too much fun.
You made the pronghorn look good! Lil bastards are only good for flat-spotting tires on the ground, and wrecking front-ends, though. Amazingly, they get smart once a year, though, and dodge hunters.
Love your videos.
Love your videos.👍👍
Thanks for the stop in Watertown! about 35nm from my farm. woulda been sweet to grass land ya and cook ya dinner! safe travels friend!
Позитив! Смотрю Ваши видео регулярно. Прекрасные полёты, самолёты и... девушки! ;)
ONE OF YOUR BEST...AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING !
One other thing I would like to tell you Trent; personally I don't care for music in RUclips videos, but having grown up around the Arts - your work is really, really good! You are very talented my friend.
