You're so right, Jon. As a recently retired high school teacher (from a very large public school), I am so optimistic about the younger generation. They are loving, accepting, and compassionate in ways our generation was not. They will lift our world if we give them the space they need. I so look forward to living many more years to watch what they can do for humanity.

As a teacher (I work with students who have hearing loss) and living in my slice of Heaven (Central Coast of CA) - it took me a while, but I learned that my teacher's salary wasn't going to be enough. After research, I chose to partner with a global company based in Japan. They just celebrated their 50 year anniversary with a huge celebration in Okinawa... and besides helping Mother Earth, the idea of the business is for individuals to partner together, in turn, creating successful, individual businesses while at the same time helping their teammates to create their's. This type of business style/model is in my heart and.....at the 50th year celebration was a gentleman from India who brought with him 22 of his business teammates, also from India, to celebrate that they've brought themselves and their families out of poverty....isn't that amazing?? I'm sure there are or will be more stories like this! I, too, see so much good happening in the world - a huge part of this was getting rid of cable TV and turning off the major news networks...🤷🏼♀️😂 So...yes!! John - I see it! I called one of our Spanish Interpreters asking him (birthday 12/12) to call the mom of my student (birthday 12/12) and he was busy so asked if I'd call our other Spanish Interpreter (birthday 12/12) and she was able to call this mom. As I got off the phone with our female Interpreter....I stood there and thought of the synchronicity of this request....with all of the 12/12 birthdays in this communication circle. As soon as I thought this, I looked at my phone to check the time and the time read 12:12! 😳 Crazy! I did a little Google search to see what it could have meant...?
I think this is such an important video. Innovations are so exciting. It's fun to think outside the box. I also have faith in the younger generations. So many of them are gentle and strong, which is a wonderful combination.
I won't mince words. You got it in one. If kids are the ones that will live in the world's future, they should have just as much, if not MORE say than many of the folks that are older. If you won't be around in 20-30 years? Best to step aside and let the youth show us exactly how well we taught them. Guide and advise, but let them make the final call. I helped write a textbook on globalization back in the 90s. It was aimed at social issues courses although I was quite optimistic. The textbook didn’t sell well and I would certainly rewrite it extensively if I had to do it again. But I think my hope for a globalized human society or really cooperation among many societies, we never wanted a single monolithic system, anyway I think that has been vindicated by many things that you’re saying now. I’m too out of touch to rewrite that book but if I were younger, you talk with inspire me to get my butt in gear and work on it again.

As a utility worker let's not talk about the solar road. I tear up the streets everyday to get to the infrastructure below them. Roads are just a cap for our utility infrastructure. Let's get some made in America panels and put them beside the road instead. Also many of us have these types of jobs we cant all go mobile.

Doing constant computer stuff usually has to wait until I'm finally home and exhausted 7pm so my work day is only longer now because I'm doing what used to be an office admin job on top of my own. A great job an office admin could have. And a construction site is not an office. I havent seen these solar roads yet I'm just thinking of logistics of how you would move a giant panel and what additional parties will be involved. Crane lift plans, specialty electricians, large site footprint may cause extra lane closures... Logistics and planning are my job. I hate closing down the road and causing traffic jams so whatever is fastest. I'd entertain solar sidewalks and solar on power line rights of way first. Low traffic areas. I'm sure the tech will eventually improve tho. I just dont believe in using valuable infrastructure as something you drive on. That's no way to treat it. the world is shifting away from authoritarianism and they are getting scared and acting up. Russia thought theyvwould walk over Ukraine. The world isn't letting that happen. The Middle East will be. settled because they need the world not the other way around.
The Tesla company has humanoid robots working in their factories right now. When they get perfected and sell in mass it will mean the end of physical labor. These robots will be able to help around the house and do local work just like humans. They will also have a chatgpt like large language model attached to them so they can take commands. Just to reiterate: within 20 years physical labor will be like the horse and buggy: a thing of the past. Oh... and my car can drive me to the store right now(It does actually drive like a 16 yr old... so I have to keep an eye on it).

In areas of great population density the ground based systems will be necessary for larger data throughput, however for rural areas the data throughput should be good enough. The Starlink satellite constellation can handle the rural areas around the world already. SpaceX just made a rocket that has better thrust than the Saturn 5 and they just demonstrated that they can land the booster for that rocket. If they demonstrate the ability to land the second stage then rockets will be like 747s... just have to refuel and maintain them. Care to buy a ticket to the moon?

I do not quite see the worlds future the way you do. In my world and I do believe in your world I am very happy every day and I do believe you too enjoy this same happyness. I have been to many move countries than you and I have not seen a drop in proverty. Who is making the numbers your using ??
I have been to 30 countries and 32 states. Glad to hear you've "been to more." I have seen it in every one personally. The data is also readily available, might I suggest you do a Google search on "global poverty" instead of simply looking for the negative.
