    Also I'm glad I saw you blotting the ink, I tried rubbing it off like i see ppl do with actual skin. I ended up smearing and staining the skin paper when I was filling in the color.

    Awesome video brother! I just ordered a bunch of things to get in to tattooing, it should be here this weekend! I ordered some “Yuelong” fake skin that you recommended in a previous video because of the thin-ness of the skin. Just so I can be extra sure I’m not blowing out lines. I will definitely order some of these nice skins as well though! Your channel is badass and you’re definitely helping so many people with this information! I think people who judge others for using fake skins must not appreciate the process and all that goes into it. When I was very first learning, there was no videos you could watch to help you and certainly no such thing as fake practice skin - you took a chance and got a human Guinea pig and hoped for the best. Don’t waste any time or energy on people who have any kind of problem with using fake skin.. sometimes you just wanna tattoo a cool design and have no one to put it on. They can get over it. 🤙🏻

    How come when I do a line pass on fake skin it never gets a dark bold line. I have to go over it like 3 times to get it okay. Is this normal?

    • @Tattooing101
      @Tattooing101  17 дней назад

      That’s pretty normal with fake skin. It doesn’t hold ink the same way real skin does, so you often need extra passes to build up a bold line. If you're really struggling with linework I recommend you check out our linework guide, it has 14 really solid tips that'll help improve your linework. Here's the link if you're interested:

    • @Tattooing101
      @Tattooing101  3 месяца назад

      Try dabbing instead of wiping. Wiping can smear ink and irritate the skin. Dabbing keeps it clean without messing up the work.

    Does fake skin damage tattoo machine?

    • @Tattooing101
      @Tattooing101  16 дней назад

      Fake skin itself won’t damage your machine, but if you go too deep and hit the table, you’ll blunt your needles. As long as you’re using the right technique, keeping your machine clean, and maintaining it properly, your machine will be fine

    • @Tattooing101

      Yep, always clean up, even with fake skin - always try to approach your fake skins like you are tattooing a person. Builds good habits for the real thing. Keeps your setup tight.

      7 is the amount of needles. R is the orientation of the need group, and L is for line work. The more needles, the larger the line

    • @TrapstarWock
      @TrapstarWock Год назад

      @@TylerMoffatt do you know what’s the standard RL for basic tattoos? Like for line work, outlines etc? What’s the most common standard RL? I just got into tattoos been practicing with 3L (0.35 MM) and I’ve noticed the needles are wayyyy too skinny. So is 7RL the perfect size you wanna be at? Also like he said in the video, with the 3L I’ve noticed the lines are very shaky and since needle is very skinny it literally drops ink anywhere the needle goes, my hand can move barely a centimeter and you’ll see it in the lines from the needle.
