Nice motor. Heavy a little awkward at a stand I found it . At 54 I would like that bike 20 or 30 years ago . Feels to sport bike like for my old body. U did right with the RT. If congrats on the RT and over 900 subscribers . So thrilled for u. Can’t wait to c where u bring the channel.

I have the new FJR1300AE (2018). I bought a touring screen which takes away all the wind which is great. Seat is adjustable low/high. I am about to buy a Top Sellerie seat for it and I have just bought R-Gaza police grade crash bars and side pannier guards too. Also have Innov front and rear cameras. I use the Sena comms kit for my Shoei neotec 2 helmet and its great for calling, hearing the satnav and talking to my mate on his CBF1000, I can also get onto the internet through "Hello Google" and get weather reports etc. I wear the Helite Airbag Vest too. Off through the Swiss Alps in August. Highly recommend the FJR.

Touring seat & windshield, bar risers and peg drop kit and you can make some serious miles in comfort here in the states. We tend to cruise at about 90mph here in the south (Texas) and the FJR is quite nice at this rate of travel. I understand that the mods I’ve noted are a bit much for some but that’s me on every bike I own. The cost of owning an FJR vs a BMW? No ? The FJR is less expensive. Cheers, whatever you decide.😎

Hi Paul, I had a 2012 FJR from new, fantastic bike but it didn’t like me. After 45 minutes I was in agony in my hips and knees. Hopefully they have addressed the Seat and foot peg issues as I found them to be too much like sport bike positioning. If you are seriously considering a Yam I would give it at least two hours for a test ride. The RT in comparison is so comfy for me, I will be interested to see how you get on. Take care mate. 👍

I have a 2016 AE, it's my second FJR. Seats and screens always get changed as they're really the only faults on the bike. Yamaha comfort seat is good as is Puigs touring screen. The motors are good for 250.000 miles if looked after, 220 miles tot he tank too. They're a bit heavy on tyres due to the weight. Two up and fully loaded on continental trips it's effortless, in sports mode it races through the passes in the Alps and Dolomites with aplomb. The FJ club is excellent for ride outs all year round and there's a good social scene too. I had a go on the bee-mer and hated it being honest and still for me there's a question of reliability. Don't listen to those who say they're a sports tourer though, It's not it's a touring bike that's quick and handles well for its mass. My Ducati ST3S/abs is a sports tourer.

Didn't comment on your last video as I thought you were leaning towards the Yamaha.... I've not ridden either of them, but, as soon as I saw your 'choice of two' I thought ...I'd go with the BMW. Incidentally, in terms of riding position the main difference between your Honda and the FJR is the knee angle, and a couple of degrees on the hip angle, hence you may have felt a bit more 'cramped'. You may be surprised to learn the seat height is an inch higher on your Deauville! Not it matters now but here is my point of reference cycle-ergo.com/ If you haven't already check out Shawn Smokes video's on the RT1250 he's a Senior Tech with BMW in Vancouver Washington.... he loves 'em!! Good choice by the way! When do you pick her up? And what colour?

First thing you do with an FJR is replace the screen with the Touring version of the screen.. you'll get ZERO wind vs. the stock. Also, riding in touring mode is like a 500cc bike, you should be in Sport Mode all the time. You need to learn a lot about this bike before reviewing. The brake system is linked... very strong, good brakes. And it's not a touring bike. It's a SPORTS touring bike. Big difference.
