I'm 115 years old and remember the 90s with great fondness. Everything was enjoyable and I keep revisiting the movies, TV and music that I shared with my tiny cousins and nephews. As adults, we still love a bit of retrospective.
The thing is a lot of modern day technology, music, movies franchise, video game franchises, trends, fashion etc. got invented or took a foothold in the 90’s. It is hard to think of things that actually got invented in the 2020’s or 2010’s or even 2000’s. The 90’s were the last decade of great invention. Most things today have just been improved upon rehashes of yesteryear.
Was born in 2002 but I knew I would’ve loved the 90s. The music, the fashion, movies and TV, and the vibes of how people interacted. So many innovations in technology and research, 1994 gave us so many of the greatest movies ever, 1998 which was a legendary year for games, many of the most iconic albums and songs are from the 90s. Sometimes I wish I was my parents’ age just to experience how cool the 90s was! 😌
The 1990s was my favorite decade too. I had a dog for most of it and we went to numerous places to walk and explore. He loved to swim too, so many ponds, brooks and lakes were visited. It just seemed times were better then.
I spent half of the 90s in high school and half in college. The last few years were on some of my first jobs as an adult, but I miss that decade. Especially grunge. Ah, the memories…didn’t appreciate it then, but I surely do now!
Love this list!!! I am so grateful to have been a child of the 80s and teenager/adult of the 90s. The best part for me was the overall acceptance to be weird and be yourself.
Loved this! I graduated high school in 1999. There's way too much to tell about my experiences, but I still find time on my time off from work to enjoy a lot of what I enjoyed back then.
Born in 1988, I grew up in the '90's, and apparently a millennial. lol You are so right, Mike, the '90's really was the best decade; I was a kid then! From the fashion, to the music, the toys, the video games, the Disney movies, Nickelodeon, Pokémon, the list goes on! I had my long hair up in a ponytail with a scrunchie a lot of the time; played on my digital pet thing called a Giga Pet, similar to a Tamogotchi, a whole lot; had a ton of Beanie Babies and Polly Pockets; watched a lot of Disney movies numerous times(when you mentioned Disney movies and I saw the Lion King clips, you got Circle of Life stuck in my head! XD); was introduced to the whole Lisa Frank and Hello Kitty fads; saw my share of Nick shows at school before it started for the day(my home didn't have cable tv for much of the decade), shows like Doug, Aaahh Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, All That, The Amanda Show, and (ugh! gave me nightmares!) Beetlejuice; discovered Pokémon and _adored_ it, the cards, the show, and the video game; got introduced to computer games like Dig Dug, Pac Man, Solitaire, Minesweeper, 3D Pinball, Kid Pix, and others; discovered Robin Williams films and _adored_ them; played outside a lot more; got hooked on video games(well, watching them being played, mostly, aside from Pokémon) like Bomberman Hero, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Donkey Kong 64, Mario Party 2, Mario Kart 64, Gran Turismo, etc...; and so on and so forth... XD That was a nice trip down memory lane, dude! ^_^
Oh man, the 90's were HUGE for me... my first trip to Disney World at 16, a trip to Spain, meeting and dating my now husband in high school, graduating high school, getting my driver's license, my first car, going to college, graduating college, getting our first apartment, getting married, and having my first child. What a packed decade!!
Born in '63 but enjoyed the '90s having gen x friends and contemporarys. My wife and I were on a plane over Utah at midnight y2k. LAX was like a ghost town, but for our flight.
Back in 1997 I was 12 my brother was 8. He looked like he was 5 or 6. My dad was a college professor. We were at a Christmas party held by the university. The MC said it was time for the Macarena. If you don’t know it, no worries we’ll teach you. My brother gets all excited and jumps on to the dance floor the size of a football field. Music starts and he starts dancing in the middle of the dance floor. The MC says to just watch him. Imagine a little kid alone dancing the Macarena. Slowly other people start joining him. Imagine if that happened today. Everyone would start recording it and it might have gone viral.
I can see the startling difference between today's movies and TV shows and those of the 1990s. The old movies and TV shows that came out in the 1990s were, and still are, WAY better than the ones we have out now. What a magical time the 1990s were!!!
I'm thankful I grew up in the 90s. I really wish the the current generation could have what we did. Especially, the financial situation. Grunge Rock forever Mike
I was born at the beginning of that wonderful decade and I was caught in the Canadian crazes that were popular during the time. I remember growing up playing with Furby, watching awesome TV shows and getting awesome Happy Meal toys from McDonalds. Also, I well remember the Disney Reneaissance era which I watched just about every musical from that decade. The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Mulan and Tarzan were the movies that were released during that time. In fact, one of my favorite shows The Big Comfy Couch debuted in 1993 on YTV and it was a great Canadian show teaching us valuable lessons. Then, Arthur, Teletubbies and Blue's Clues came along on my radar and I was hooked to the TV screen. Even Caillou was interesting to me, even though that show was annoying to parents. Today, I don't even watch the new kids' shows because I'm often drawn to the nostalgia of the 90s. Also, we had kitchen parties and yes, celebrating class birthdays was a real thing. I even collected troll dolls and other collectible toys back in those days.
As a 20 year old in 92 in London, everything that is taken for granted now started in the 90s. The 20s 30s 50s 60s 70s 80 and 90s all had a specific individuality. In the years since NOTHING stands out as original , not music, fashion, art , political thought and practice, architecture. Nothing but fear and cynicism even the "me too" and "black lives matter" had origins in fear and abuse. I feel for the youth of today but I also despair of them. Stand up, fight back, shout louder. It's like whole generations have instinctively dumbed down.
I graduated high school in 98 and oh boy.Let me tell you. Those were the greatest times of my life! No internet, no smartphones you actually had to talk to girls. It was amazing.
My son is obsessed with electronics and the internet. I have him in cub scouts, soccer, and baseball. Outside is a magical place beyond anything the internet can give. All I have to say is Breaking up was easy in the 90s. I miss road trips with no GPS. Just trying to get lost on purpose. Being able to meet befriend and talk to random people. Thank you for this video. My class of 1995. Enough said.
I was born in 1980. The 90's were the best time in my life and I truly wish we could go back! I miss those days mostly because my Dad and oldest brother were still here.
One word that describes the 90s is "Optimism". Even though we were facing so many problems then, our outlook in life was optimistic. We were just excited about so many things. The new millennium, and the technology it brought. But then 2020s came we all wish we could take a one-way ticket trip back into the 90s. Some of my highlights of the 90s 1. We did not have social media back then, so we interacted in person. We hanged out, took long bicycle rides, we really bonded together. Friendship at the age of social media became fake. 2. We were not distracted by our phones during meal times, or during dates 3. We had sports heroes! NBA was gaining world wide popularity. 4. Our TV shows were all fun. We had great sitcoms. Now every series is supposed to be dark. No longer about having fun with friends, but now more about serial killers. 5. We did not have toxic social media personalities
I was born 1991 and had the best time through school in the 90s. I had my birthday in school this year (I’m a teacher) and introduced the kids to loads of 90s tunes
I agree! The 90s was A BADASS DECADE! I'M a Generation Xer, and Mr Williams, music, and a simpler times REALLY ARE my Favorites! NOT TO MENTION, BOTH OF MY KIDS WERE BORN in the 90s😮
You forgot the sports. 1992 Olympic Dream Team, 1994 men's and 1999 women's World Cup, Nancy vs. Tonya, Tyson vs. Holyfield's ear, the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Chicago Bulls dominating NBA, Cowboys and Packers Superbowls, tennis stars like Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Jennifer Capriatti and the Williams sisters, the gymnastics Magnificent Seven...
I was born in 85, My childhood was spent in the 1990’s and yes it was the best decade ever. Sometimes I wish I can go back to it cause my parents would be younger and healthier. The games I grew up with was Sonic the Hedgehog and Megaman, spending time with Family was everything cause we actually talked to each other and not on the phone. I still have my tote full of beanie babies. Favorite 90’s movies were The rescuers down under, the great mouse detective and Oliver and company . The best part of all of the 90’s for me and my friends was finding out that The King of Pop composed every single soundtrack to Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and that’s why that is the only game in the franchise is protected by copyrights.
Off by ten years, the 1980s was the best decade! The decade gave us Mario,PacMan,Transformers,Thunder cats,TMNT,Indiana Jones, the NES,and Heavy Metal Rock.
Born 1990 and i feel like a hybrid kid of both the 90s and early 2000s. I remember seeing lion king in theaters, i lived in Atlanta and when the bombing happened at the 96 Olympics we talked about it thr next day in class. I remember seeing Columbine on news, i watch Tyson bite holyfield ear with my father. I remember seeing everyone crowded around tv watching Jordan in his bulls uniform. I seen space jam at the movies. I went to new York in 99 and been inside the twin towers. I was also there summer of 01. I remember 9/11 happening on the news in my 6th grade science class
The Noughy era...my era, yes. I miss this a lot. Hard to believe that it wasn't long ago either. Also I can't believe that the party decade sort of gave birth to this weird decade. Considering it was just a generation, the divide is quite huge. Yes, the last of everything, as we'll never do a lot of this stuff again.
The 90's for me ( I was in my 20's back then ) could be boiled down to three things: 1) Taco Bell, when it used to be good 2) Listening to music on CD's and 3) playing video games on Sega Genesis.
I miss Orbits so much. I was a huge fan of them when they came out both due to their taste and the nerd cred that came with knowing how those little balls were suspended. But they were insanely expensive for the time. At $3.00-$5.00 a pop, depending on if you luckily found them at a grocery store, or stumbled across them at Busch Gardens, at a time when a one litre Coca-Cola was only 99¢, it was doomed to fail once the wow factor wore off.
Those were the best days! For my sister and me, it meant playing outside, socializing, and some of the best pop culture! Whether it was reading popular books (Babysitters Club for me, Goosebumps for her), or watching the best sitcoms (Friends, Frasier, Seinfeld) or some of the best cartoons (Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain), it was the best time to be a kid or a teen. But those days don't last forever. Things are so different now. We'll still have the memories, though. By the way, I still enjoy watching some of these shows in reruns. Good thing we have DVDs!
Damn you guys made me cry with that here video, ah the memories. I remember all of these things from the 90s. I was born in 1977 and the good old 90s were the best days of my life.
I definitely remember almost everything especially Y2K I was still in H.S. It was New Year’s Eve during the count down everyone was crying, (this was in my cousin’s house ) I didn’t know, or even understand what Y2K ment at the time, until a bit later !!
I loved Mr. Bean, Art Attack, Rugrats, Doug, Bananas In Pyjamas, Dexter's Laboratory, Blue's Clues, Hey Arnold!, Pokémon, Teletubbies, Bear In The Big Blue House, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, 64 Zoo Lane, SpongeBob Squarepants, Futurama and Little Bill ❤
When I saw the title I was skeptical but I waited and heard you out. As a Gen X'er, looking back to the decades before I have to admit. The 90s was by far my favorite decade. 🥳 I moved to Miami Florida started my first business which still thrives to this day. Bought my first home a condo in a Miami overlooking Biscayne Bay. (all before my 30th birthday after growing up dirt poor) You hit the nail on the head about my generation except for a few things. We don't care about fads, politics, the status quo or falling in line, (they've lied to us long enough) counter-culture is what we are about. We don't need or want to document every minute of our lives. We quietly went about our lives having fun doing our own thing, now our economic power is unmatched.
You specifically stated "You hit the nail on the head about my generation except for a few things. We quietly went about our lives having fun doing our own thing, now our economic power is unmatched." Tell me, since you specifically stated "we" 4 times, and "our" 4 times when talking about "my generation" and stated "they've lied to us long enough" exactly how many other "WE(s)" or "OUR(s)" did you actually get to even agree with you? Do you seriously think every Gen X thinks like that? Exactly how many out of the roughly 66.9 million other Gen X did you personally ask if they themselves agree with what you believe? No person is the same, this is common sence. You cannot drag everyone from one age generation and literally sy they fit all of that exact same stereotype or agree with the same multiple things you listed. I know MANY Gen X as both close family and close friends. Some may follow what you stated, most only follow 1 maybe 2 and honestly others are the complete opposite. Remember, that everyone is an individual and we are all different.
Not gonna lie, I even forget you guys are back! And I have notifications turned on. However when I do see it instant must watch right then & there! So glad you guys are back!

Water balloons, Nerf guns, electric race tracks, best video games(Mario Bros, Contra, Mega Man). oh shyt also Echo the Dolphin, it was dope man! 4. Summer breaks sneaking in Town Pools(a lot here in Jersey). 5. Carrying pen and paper to get/give phone numbers(also carrying lots of quarters for calls) 6. Literally, the Best Dance parties!(given a new hit would come out every week). 7. Boom box on your shoulder(meant carrying extra batteries and extra cassettes in your Jansport book bag). 8. Fresh Timbos(need I say more). 9. Being 32 waist, so that meant buying 36(Tommy, Paco, Fubu, Pelle Pelle, Phat Farm). 10. Olde 40's, nicks/dimes, White Owl/Dutches 😂😂 Damn....the very best of Days!!! Snap kid, I meant to say those days were da bomb! Phat as hell B! Peace out ✌️
PS2: I remember Y2K, and I was a bit scared, yes, but I was also nine years old, but all I did was grab a few flashlights, and mom told me afterwards, "No, it's always best to be prepared, right?" Obviously she hadn't thought anything was going to happen anyway, but I remember hearing rumors that all the world's power would stop working at midnight. That kind of thing.
I literally had to make a 90s room in my house because i miss it so much and when i want to escape the garbage fake world we live in today i just go in that room, pop in a vhs of wrestle mania ppv i taped back in the day, and life is good again.
I was born in 1984. Man the 90s was simple. We played marbles as kids and had a blast. Simplicity. Lots of family tv shows. Even game shows. If i was sick and had to skip school, I would watch price is right. Good times bro. I can go on and on. And you mentioned Nickelodeon. I went to universal studio's twice in my life. 1990 and 1996. In 1990 i went in October and they were busy making nickelodeon studios. I saw the sight. In 1996 i was privelage to actually go into nick studios. I was at a double dare show. It was so fun. And Robin Williams on Mork and Mindy was one of my favorites, which was actually a 80s sitcom, but the 90s had nick at night which Aired older tv shows. What a lifetime of great simple fun.
“The last great decade” seems pretty accurate to me. It was the last time people really felt optimistic about the world. It’s hard to describe to people what it feels like to live in a time when people thought things were getting better not worse.

I was born in 1983 and my sister was born in 1986 and will turn 38 years old this June
The music, the movies, the innocence, flannel. All things I miss.
I'm 115 years old and remember the 90s with great fondness. Everything was enjoyable and I keep revisiting the movies, TV and music that I shared with my tiny cousins and nephews. As adults, we still love a bit of retrospective.
Oh wow 😳
dont believe him@@RosheenQuynh
if you were as old as you claim to be, I think you have more decade options than the 90s you would feel fond of, maybe the 50s or the 60s.
We found the aforementioned troll 🙄
Robin Williams was one of the greats. I love hearing how he improvised a lot in his movies
I want to see a lot of movies a couple decades old, now,
Most people debate on the 80s-90s being the best, but one thing everyone can agree on is they were a hell of a lot better than the 2020s.
I was born in the early 70s and i remember all this and i have to agree. I miss a lot of things from then
74, Gen X had the best teens/20's hitting the millennium at 26 was like waking up with the shittiest hangover.
I was born on 1990
Do you feel any nostalgia from the 80's?
80s best music best films 90s was the start of crappy music like boy groups that couldn’t play an instrument
The best list so far.
Wow, thanks!
It's amazing how you communicate your words you're the only RUclips video I can actually sit and watch for hours
Thank you. That means a lot to me.
Same! I tell my husband all the time how I wish I had appreciated things back then.
Same here,class of 99!!
Proud to be born in 1989! The 90s were the highlight of my childhood and a simpler time i definitely missed.
Born in 89 and I feel the same way! I feel like our generation got the last best childhoods.
I was born in the early 80s. While the 90s were fantastic, the 80s were even better
There’s darkness to the Amanda show 😢. I hope you didn’t watch Quiet on Set.
@@tbc9096born in 89 too!
I love how laid-back the 90s wear. It was also a fun time going out and seeing live bands.
Born in 79. Miss those days. And im surprised the video didn't mention making mix tapes or mix cds for your buddies or love interest
Although I'm in my 50's, the 90's was one of the best era's of my life. I'd still put the 80's first(for me).
Definitely. I was born in the early 80s. While the 90s were great, thr 80s were something uniquely special.
Everything now is a remake of movies that came out then. So, even now people recognize the movies from the 90s was it!
Truth
I thought the 80s lasted in Canada through the first 4 years of the 90s, or so Robin claimed.
Thanks Mike & team! You're doing a great job. Sharing
Thank you!
Born in 1981, 90s were the best!!! Miss those days😢 best childhood ever!!
Same! lol
Virtually the same as well.. let's toast to graduating in 1999
🍻
List 25 is back, baby, yeah!
Share us with everyone. We've been back since September and people are still only just finding out
The 90’s was a fantastic decade with so many important things happening in my life. So glad you are back too!
It's like whole generations have instinctively dumbed down.
especially the music...........The music industry around the world was so legendary
I miss those days mostly because my Dad and oldest brother were still here.
god i miss the 90's
I definitely miss the 90s also
Thanks for the kind words about Gen X - I feel like we are the forgotten generation!
We ARE, Love! I was born in the year of the Dragon (76), and as. A. Fellow Generation Xer, we are
This is your best video yet!
Born in 1981 and I truly believe the 80s and 90s were as good as it gets.
I knew something was going on with you guys…glad to see content from you guys again
One word that describes the 90s is "Optimism". Even though we were facing so many problems then, our outlook in life was optimistic. We were just excited about so many things. The new millennium, and the technology it brought. But then 2020s came we all wish we could take a one-way ticket trip back into the 90s. Some of my highlights of the 90s
1. We did not have social media back then, so we interacted in person. We hanged out, took long bicycle rides, we really bonded together. Friendship at the age of social media became fake.
2. We were not distracted by our phones during meal times, or during dates
3. We had sports heroes! NBA was gaining world wide popularity.
4. Our TV shows were all fun. We had great sitcoms. Now every series is supposed to be dark. No longer about having fun with friends, but now more about serial killers.
5. We did not have toxic social media personalities
The way you spoke about Robin Williams started to make me cry. He was truly great and will be missed.
I was born 1991 and had the best time through school in the 90s. I had my birthday in school this year (I’m a teacher) and introduced the kids to loads of 90s tunes
That’s cool but didn’t you only make it to like second or third grade before the 00’s?
@@jcwoodstl4th grade. Im also a 91er yet I remember so much from like 1993 onward. I was one of the youngest amongst all my cousins
…and Tiger Woods, if we’re doing 90s sports
Oh Absolutely I agree 💯👍
All of these 90s videos and no one has mentioned "the box". Anyone remember what that was?
Yes, that's how I heard most of the music I listened to in the early 90's started out as Jukebox
I Love 90's ❤
Born 91 this video was a fresh breath of air for me. Life these days feels so much less exciting...
Off by ten years, the 1980s was the best decade! The decade gave us Mario,PacMan,Transformers,Thunder cats,TMNT,Indiana Jones, the NES,and Heavy Metal Rock.
U got a point
I was in college as a freshman in 9/11/2001
I loved the 90s, too! Also, I was a young adult, and the pop music was great 🇬🇧🎶❤️
Im glad i was born in 89! I need a time machine to back to the 90s , dont get me wrong technology is good but i'll always miss the 90s
Technology is too advanced in 2024 and therefore makes it dull
Grew up in the 90s
My favorite stuff back in our time was everything from Blockbuster / Hollywood video/ movie Gallery, the food , toys just everything. 🌴🇺🇸
I remember a lot of this. I was born in 1992
Damn you guys made me cry with that here video, ah the memories. I remember all of these things from the 90s. I was born in 1977 and the good old 90s were the best days of my life.
I was a teenager during the 1990s. And it was a good decade to be a kid in!
I won the age lottery when it came to to the 90s. My entire childhood was from 4 years old (1990) to 13 years old (1999).
I LOVE your videos 😊😊
A+ video!
Thank you so much for making it, it was such a great decade.
Rip Robin Williams may he rest in peace.😔
He was a gift to us all!
9:15 Oh there you are, Peter! 💜 My gods, I miss that man 😭
When I saw the title I was skeptical but I waited and heard you out. As a Gen X'er, looking back to the decades before I have to admit. The 90s was by far my favorite decade. 🥳 I moved to Miami Florida started my first business which still thrives to this day. Bought my first home a condo in a Miami overlooking Biscayne Bay. (all before my 30th birthday after growing up dirt poor)
You hit the nail on the head about my generation except for a few things.
We don't care about fads, politics, the status quo or falling in line, (they've lied to us long enough) counter-culture is what we are about. We don't want to document every minute of our lives. We quietly went about our lives having fun doing our own thing, now our economic power is unmatched."
Tell me, since you specifically stated "we" 4 times, and "our" 4 times when talking about "my generation" and stated "they've lied to us long enough" exactly how many other "WE(s)" or "OUR(s)" did you actually get to even agree with you? Do you seriously think every Gen X thinks like that?
Exactly how many out of the roughly 66.9 million other Gen X did you personally ask if they themselves agree with what you believe? No person is the same, this is common sence. You cannot drag everyone from one age generation and literally sy they fit all of that exact same stereotype or agree with the same multiple things you listed.
I know MANY Gen X as both close family and close friends. Some may follow what you stated, most only follow 1 maybe 2 and honestly others are the complete opposite.
Remember, that everyone is an individual and we are all different.
Yessssssssss I’m so bless to live the 90s decade it was a bad for me but I survive with everything good the 90s had for me
My eternal heaven when I die would be living forever in the 90s, it was so much better than now, the world makes me sick to my stomach now
Good I miss the 90s - I’d give anything to go back
Not gonna lie, I even forget you guys are back! And I have notifications turned on. However when I do see it instant must watch right then & there! So glad you guys are back!
I was born in 81 so a teen in the 90s greatful for grunge music snl and mad TV movies were the best and didn't worry so much and boy do I miss. My baggy jeans!
Also....
1. Bud....weis......ERR!
2. Listening in on my brother's calls and fighting over phone time(sometimes saying stupid shyt to embarrass him).
3. Water balloons, Nerf guns, electric race tracks, best video games(Mario Bros, Contra, Mega Man). oh shyt also Echo the Dolphin, it was dope man!
4. Summer breaks sneaking in Town Pools(a lot here in Jersey).
5. Carrying pen and paper to get/give phone numbers(also carrying lots of quarters for calls)
10. Olde 40's, nicks/dimes, White Owl/Dutches 😂😂
Damn....the very best of Days!!!
Snap kid, I meant to say those days were da bomb! Phat as hell B! Peace out ✌️
Class of 1996, so yeah, i am glad i lived in that decade
I graduated high school in 1990, so being in my 20's in the 90's was pretty damn cool...
Lion King was my favourite....and Musfua death gets me every time,
All the love and support! I love you guys.
If Beanie Babies were released today, they would absolutely be worth a fortune. Anything with any hype typically exceeds on the secondary market.
I lived my best teen years in the late 90s that was the best decade
To me (I was born in 91) was the fact that Tim Burton gave the best childhood with Nightmare Before Christmas.❤
91 here too 😊
I literally had to make a 90s room in my house because i miss it so much and when i want to escape the garbage fake world we live in today i just go in that room, pop in a vhs of wrestle mania ppv i taped back in the day, and life is good again.
I need a time machine!
What I love is that for the past few years, the 90s have become cool again! lol the nostalgia is real
Oh hi! LoL
Hey Mike hun can you plz do a list for the 80's us millennials would be appreciative and THANK YOU for your hard work been a fan for years now ;)
“The last great decade” seems pretty accurate to me. It was the last time people really felt optimistic about the world. It’s hard to describe to people what it feels like to live in a time when people thought things were getting better not worse.
