I was searching just online for a background to add to a Christmas card for free - simple snowy scene. Even that is almost non-existent these days. Everything is either pay a subscription, pay for the image, or it's free but it requires you to put a credit. Which I get, but last time I did something like that there were still quite a few free-no-license images out there.

'94 baby here. We went to Blockbuster every Friday or Saturday night, as there was one five blocks from our house, starting in 2001, when we moved to said house, as it was bigger. My stepdad loved taking me, because I made a decision in under 10 minutes. However, my younger brother would sometimes take 30 minutes to 1 hour to pick a game, and my stepdad would take out his old flip phone and call up my mom to tell her what was keeping us. Memories...

As an 80's baby that grew up in the 90's, I remember ALL of these things. God, I miss everything about the 90's. If you didn't get to experience the 90's, you missed out and to those that did... It was an amazing time to be alive in, wasn't it? OH MAN! Being a kid in the 90's was F'n amazing! No social media, just straight up fun times outside, all day everyday until the it got dark and even then. Capturing every moment in deposable and polaroid cameras. Man, I'm getting teary eyed just talking about it. I still have my POGS and slammers, LOL. I recently had this conversation with my daughter and it was pretty cool.
I will always remember "It's 10 o'clock, do you know where your kids are?" LOL!

From Australia where I lived in Vic, SA & NSW I remember on TV - Video Hits, Hey Hey It's Saturday (before that was Countdown which ended in 1987), TV series that showcased morals with-in family environments, Mr Squiggle, Alf, 21 Jump Street, the 6am morning exercise workout (don't remember the name), the Sunday Midday Movie (was an old black and white movie) & Loony Tunes. Hated the Apple Computers but loved MS DOS, public payphones, buying things were a lot cheaper (even factoring inflation), mid 90's speed radar's were a new thing cops were using, barely any fixed speeding or red light cameras for vehicles, collecting empty cereal boxes/tubes etc to donate to primary schools to use for their art classes, teen magazines with relevant articles that had posters in them, gaming magazines, the Playboy articles (not the pictures), newspapers everywhere that were used for many different things after being read, backyard incinerators, local video store or Blockbuster/Video Ezy, having a break while still shopping at Holly's Cafe in Kmart stores, no such thing as politically correct, sadly drive-in theatres are almost extinct, different playgrounds (I'd still use the spinning ones if they were still around - no pun intended), butcher's that gave out free bones with tiny bits of meat on them, I could go on & on.

or even cell phones? I had my first cell phone at 15, it was $25 for 60 minutes. If you went over the minute mark by even a second, you got charged for another minute. My convos with friends were literally to make plans, and usually lasted 20-30 seconds.

iMac saved Apple. It was a monitor with built in computer. Otherwise you had to have a giant beige box for the computer, separate monitor, separate modem, and a gillion cords. RIP Steve Jobs.

I still think about Y2K very often. If the systems did go back to 1900, why would it be so dangerous to mankinds survival? It still makes me sctratch my head.

The major problem with Y2K was that the years being represented as 2 digits you would go from 99 to 00. Depending on the program, this could mean not being able to acknowledge something is next year because 00 is less than 99 or calculation errors. Imagine if your credit card statement thinks you have not paid your bill for 99 years instead of one month.

CRT monitors have more resolution options? Well I suppose very low, extremely low, and you-have-to-be-joking low are all options. CRT monitors are only preferred for retro gaming, mostly to blur out the hard edges of the low resolution graphics.
