So glad I found your channel! I'm a small business owner and beginner welder at best. I realize this year I need to be able to fix my own equipment. Thank you for explaining things in a way that as a beginner I can actually understand and learn from .😊
Fun fact: must flux wire is rated for single pass only. You can do more than one and stack 'em, especially for practice, but the weld won't be as strong. You can find wire rated for multiple passes - Lincoln makes some - but of course it is more expensive. Always check the label.
Exactly. Anything with a GS is single pass. Anything with an II (eleven) is multipass. I use Hobart, that’s good too. I find that if you prepare everything correctly, and weld properly, 1/4” will pass a cut test and a bend test using multi pass (three passes). I think I saw a creak on what would his right side of the 1/2” weld.
2:23 appreciate the instructional videos I am 60 years old retired military never had the time to learn welding but always wanted to looking for a retirement hobby never welded before because of your videos I purchased the Titanium 125 to begin learning amazing how easy it Is to learn based on your content thank you for taking the time to put these videos together
I worked for a charter jet airline as a mechanic (not on anything that flew!) for the ground support equipment shop. We bought a Chicago 125 for quick welds that didn't need to be pretty, to regulation, or be under any stress, and it worked very well for that. Basically, that machine taught me how to weld, as I'd never had any instruction before. The boss was impressed enough to buy us a big Miller unit, but we used the Harbor Freight machine twice as often! I bought the Titanium 125 for my house, and continued my welding "education". Still a long way from "pro" status, but none of my welds have failed. I love your tips, and your project videos, as they really make sense the way you present them. I used your video of making the welding table, as a guide to repair a neighbors railing for her stairs. It came out very well! Thanks!
I bought the Titanium 125 after watching several of your videos talking about it and using it, And I really like it alot. I have welded support brackets to my tool box for shelves, wheel brackets to my mower deck, and welded the snow plow I use with a 20hp Ingersoll, and it held up all winter without any problems. I like the way you do your videos, short and to the point, thanks.
Bought a Titanium 125 a couple weeks ago on sale, finally got the opportunity to try it out today. First time welding anything. Bought some 1" x 1/8" flat and cut into 3" lengths. Welded 90 deg angles then welded those into a square tube and finally welded a tab to outside of tube, all good practice. Welds started to look almost decent by the end! Going to buy some tip gel and anti-spatter spray soon. Thanks for the videos, I have learned a lot.
Since this welder is on sale I was researching it to see if it is worth the money for someone just learning to weld. Seems like your videos are more comprehensive than the others I've seen. Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to do these videos, great job. I am retired and trying to complete some projects around the house and with my Side by Side. Years ago, actually fifty two years ago I worked for a while as a welder building water tanks out of 12ga. steel running a stick welder at 275 amps. you didn't want to slow down. It was piece work you got $35 for a 750 gal. tank if none of your beads leaked. Haven't really done much welding since then, and as I am sure you know it's an art and if you don't keep your hand in it, well lets just say I have forgot more than I knew. What I am saying in a roundabout way is thanks, your tutelage is appreciated, keep up the good work.
I asked for a Titanium 125 for Xmas last year and Mrs. Santa came through, along with needed accessories! Your videos helped seal the deal and have allowed me to stay ahead of making rookie mistakes. Enjoying it so far. Cool channel. Keep up the great work! Thx! 😁
A BIG BLACK EYE FOR HARBOR FREIGHT I have a Harbor freight TITANIUM FLUX 125 WELDER purchased from Harbor Freight a couple years ago. I am a retired plumbing contractor and backyard hobbyist. I love to build things in my spare time and help friends and neighbors that need something repaired. When I retired and closed my business, I had a stick welding machine but had no convenient place to connect it at my home! It would require an upgrade to my electrical service not worth the trouble and expense! When I saw a couple reviews on RUclips for this Titanium 125 welder, I thought that would be the way to go. I already had a 110 Volt 30 Amp circuit to my workshop! It took me a while to get adjusted to the flux wire welding. I built a minibike from scrap pipe I had left over from the plumbing shop. The welder allowed me to make other things and make repairs for others I wouldn’t be able to do without it. In the middle of my last project, I cut a couple pieces of metal and got ready to weld them and when I pushed the button on the welder, nothing happened! It was dead! The fan did not come on but the light on the ON/OFF indicated there was power to the welder. I checked the manual for a reset button or a fuse and found no mention of either. So, I called the Harbor Freight 800 number and was told there was no repair for this welder. Harbor Freight has no repair facility, and no support is available. I was told by two different tech reps there is no schematics or parts list available from the factory where this is manufactured. “It is not worth getting it repaired and cheaper to go purchase a new one!” If you purchase this welder or many other things from Harbor Freight You only have 3 Months Warranty. It is considered disposable after that! All the reviews and discussion I have read about HARBOR FREIGHT I have never seen anything about their total lack of support for their products! I didn’t even get an “I’m sorry” or any offer for a discount on a new welding machine! I am retired, was an electronics technician in the Navy, active Ham Radio operator and electronics hobbyist. I feel like the electronics in this welding machine is straight forward non computer controlled and any decent electronics tech should be able to repair this given reasonable support. I removed the circuit board from the welder and found where a small component burned of course not knowing the component value or purpose will make it difficult to replace. Providing a schematic and parts list is a very inexpensive form of support that should be a minimum requirement. Their claim to revenue of 7 Billion Dollars tells me they could afford it! Leland Cox
You were told at the checkout counter that it had a 90 day warranty and then offered a one or two year replacement plan. If you pass on that it's on you.
Harbor Freight does not have parts for their equipment. You are lucky if they have some of the accessories. This is one of the things that makes the cost less. Inventory warehousing, ect. it is one of the scarier things about buying something expensive from HF ( the titanium 125 is not that expensive). And honestly major brands do something similar, price the parts at sky high rates
I'm so glad I discovered this channel. Just purchased the Titanium 125 welder. Looking to reinforce a trailer frame to eventually build a small square drop camper with kayak rack on top. So excited to get started. I've researched several channels and yours is the best by far! Thanks for the great content.
I saw that the Titanium 125 is now on sale at HF and I am going to pick this welder today, this video sealed the deal. Everything you welded in this video is exactly what I will be doing. Thanks for video and love your content
This week is the cheapest it will get. If you bought it when it was more then you can always take the recite in and they will refund the difference! Stay tuned!
I bought one to do body work on several cars. I could use a helmet. Watching your videos is giving me the confidence to do the jobs that need done because i am disabled and can't afford to drive cars that don't need work done nor pay someone to fix them.
Thanks for showing the capabilities. I just bought one of these and plan to do an unboxing/first weld video. Your videos as well as several others influenced my decision to purchase the flux 125. I'm not a welder, but have burned a few rods down. This should be fun and add to my DIY capabilities. Nice job!
Thank you for this video. I have the same welder and plan on making a stump bucket for my garden tractor. I will use 3/16" plate. Looking at your video gives me confidence that I will be able to weld the 3/16" plate.😀
I bought the titanium 125 after watching your videos. Never welded before but I was trying to keep up a little with my 9th grader that started the school year in welding class selected it for all 4 years … now his brother 8th grader completed his high school course selections and he too picked welding

My 13 yo daughter is going to start using the Titanium 125 (based on your reviews) to do cutlery animal sculptures. I'm a stick welder, so your vids are pretty much our teacher for flux core, lol. Helmet giveaway right up our alley.
@@-DIYPRO- A coworker just gave me a few feet of old chain, seems about 3/8". Do you think the Titanium 125 will be able to weld the links together (just decorative strength)? I'm thinking she can turn them into candlesticks, with a simple plate at the bottom and piece of square tubing to hold a candle. Gonna try with the 125, your video makes it seem like it's doable....
Thanks for the video! I like your welding plate that helps to dissipate the heat, great idea for anyone without an all metal table or just starting out.
Thanks for all the helpful videos. I'm getting back into welding so I can repair the snow plow on my UTV. This Titanium 125 looks like it'll work perfectly.

I’ve been throwing around the idea of getting back into welding. If I remember correctly I gave my old helmet away. That one looks really nice. This looks like a great welder. I have projects coming up that I could use it on. Thanks for the video! God Bless!
Wow! I am definitely thinking about buying the titanium 125. I have a little 5x8 lowes utility trailer I just bought that definitely needs some beefing up so your videos have been a gigantic help with me learning to weld!
After selling that Chicago electric a couple weeks ago and buying the titanium 125 I was super happy with it. It was nice to see your reply on that short btw, super cool. Even my girlfriend said it was a better weld. What really got me was when she said “it just sounds better, like more consistent or something!” I’m putting in my entry for the helmet!!
CHEERS! I just bought this welder and still have it in the box. I've been watching your "back" videos for set-up tips. I really appreciate your time and help with this type of projects (and I sure could use the helmet LOL). Thanks again Mac
Great video! Emphasizing clean weld surfaces and chamfered edges is the key for successful welding with these buzz boxes. For best results have the welder on a circuit with nothing else running on it (which I know is easier said than done).
I have learned so much from your videos, you explain things thoroughly and I mustered up the courage to start welding last year, the titanium welder is great, it's super reliable and well priced. PS- I'd love a new helmet!
I used the titanium 200 extremely successfully 5/8” rounds side by side. This 3 in a triangle all parallel for legs of a bottle 🌲 tree. Worked better than I could hope for.
Thanks for the review, I was on the fence about buying one from Harbor Freight but like everyone else funds are low and this looks like it will work perfect for what I need.
Perfect timing. This week during their parking lot sale it's on for $169. It's the cheapest it will ever be. If you picked it up for more you can take in the recite and get refunded the difference. Stay tuned!
@@-DIYPRO- I was going get it at $175 but saw it was going to drop anyway, and will if you shop at HF you save the $5 if you can. My local HF is low on them so that should cover shipping.
Love the video. I used my Titanium 125 to fix a spare tire holder for my friend. I also recently used it to fix a broken piece on my landscape rake. I did a RUclips video on that repair.
Good video, I have a tendency to weld non matching sizes to each other (Legs on a plate table, etc...) and it would be a neat idea to have some tips and tricks on how to set a welder for somethng like that.
I did some 3/4 and it did very well. Weld and penetration was above par from expectation. Weld didn't split. Was one of those emergency things that ended up staying 😂.
I have purchased this welder but have not opened yet. I am on old fart at 60 and took welding in HS long time ago. Hopefully I can find some of those old skills.
Thanks for doing this giveaway! I am a new subscriber to your channel. I found you by watching your first video with the titanium 125. I must say, you make very good content. I plan on watching a few of your videos to get started on flux core welding.
Just plug it into an outlet. Most garage outlets should be connected to a 20 amp circuit breaker which is located in your panel. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Thanks for doing the test. I would have already purchased the 125 if it were dual voltage. Unfortunately, the Titanium jumps up significantly in price for the 120/240V model.
1/2" with the Titanium!!
You do a nice job i learn a lot wat hing you thanks

I’ve been thinking about getting one of he 125’s. Having watched this, i think ill get one when i see them on sale. Thanks
They are on sale now. I'm picking one up this week.
Right on! Stay tuned!
Yep, pick on up this week. It's the cheapest they go.
Got it yesterday 169.99
@@scottyb5324 excellent!
Right on. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Plan on picking up the 125 soon. I need to build a baby gate for some kids visiting in May.
@@Being_Joe right on!
I really need to get practicing with the Titanium 125, great videos, thanks
Thanks and stay tuned!
Just looking at getting one of these vs the Chicago tools as they’re both on sale. Going for this one now after watching your vids.
Thanks and stay tuned!
I luv these videos aimed at diy'rs like myself. Thanks so much.
Thanks! Stay tuned!
I like your RUclips video's beginners or folks that don't want to sell the farm to get started
Thanks, and stay tuned!
Love the video. I used my Titanium 125 to fix a spare tire holder for my friend. I also recently used it to fix a broken piece on my landscape rake. I did a RUclips video on that repair.
Right on. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
What can i do to reduce my splattering watt type of ground connection you recommend
Use anti spatter spray. Also watch your stick out. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Nice tutorial for a beginner like myself. Thanks.
Right on! Thanks and stay tuned!
you convinced me to get a titanium 125 after watching a few of you review on the Chicago and the titanium 😁👍
How has it worked out for you?
Checking this out because I was thinking about buying a 125.
It's great, bought one 2 weeks ago. Never welded before and I am getting the hang of it.
It's a pretty good machine. Thank you and stay tuned!
Good video, I have a tendency to weld non matching sizes to each other (Legs on a plate table, etc...) and it would be a neat idea to have some tips and tricks on how to set a welder for somethng like that.
I'll add it to the list! Thanks and stay tuned!
Just starting out. Thanks for all the great tips.
Right on! Thanks and stay tuned!
Enjoy your vids. I use .035 flux for all my outside welds if I'm not using rods.
Right on. Stay tuned!
Great video. Love my Titanium 125 for repairs especially on dirty metal.
Thanks and stay tuned!
The vevor helmet looks amazing!
Right on! Thanks and stay tuned!
I’m really enjoying your vids. The flux core welding has helped me a lot 👍🏻
Thanks and stay tuned!
I just picked one of these up today very excited!
Right on! Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
I did some 3/4 and it did very well. Weld and penetration was above par from expectation. Weld didn't split. Was one of those emergency things that ended up staying 😂.
Wow, 3/4"! Glad it held for you.
I have purchased this welder but have not opened yet. I am on old fart at 60 and took welding in HS long time ago. Hopefully I can find some of those old skills.
Right on! Thanks and stay tuned!
I have a brand new, 3 year old Titanium MiG 140 in the garage with a full bottle. I’ve never used it. Probably about time.
I'd say it's time to pull that out! Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Great video, I also have a Titanium 125, love it.
Right on! Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Good video. I'd be happy to try out the new helmet!
Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Thanks for doing this giveaway! I am a new subscriber to your channel. I found you by watching your first video with the titanium 125. I must say, you make very good content. I plan on watching a few of your videos to get started on flux core welding.
Right on, thank you. Stay tuned!
I just bought one of these welders a week ago. I plan on welding exhaust with it. An so far it's doing really good
Do you have a circuit breaker or just plugged it in like normal ? New to this
@@fernn587 just plug in to wall
Just plug it into an outlet. Most garage outlets should be connected to a 20 amp circuit breaker which is located in your panel. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Right on! Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Just bought this welder. Love it so far
Thanks and stay tuned!
Thanks for doing the test. I would have already purchased the 125 if it were dual voltage. Unfortunately, the Titanium jumps up significantly in price for the 120/240V model.
true true. Thanks, and stay tuned!
Enjoy your videos on welding. Lots of info. I have a similar welder and its great for my purposes
Glad you like them! Stay tuned!
Really like that helmet! Need it to start welding soon.
Go for it! Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
I would love to have the welding helmet, working on a frame for my truck bed
Thanks, and stay tuned!
Loving your content. I've been learning a lot!
Awesome, thank you! Stay tuned!
Don’t have a titanium but got a craftsman 60-120 amp flux core and very similar
Right on! Stay tuned!
I am hopefully buying a titanium welder soon.
Right on. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
Helmet looks awesome
It does! Thank you and stay tuned!
Ive done some automotive with 1/4 plate on 0.035 and I just max that sucker out seems to work fine.
Thank your for the review I had seen these welders at store just wasn’t really sure about them
Now you can pick one up! (You'd think I was sponsored!) Stay tuned!
I wish you did a bend tend test to back up that it can’t handle thick metal
