Omg. I really like the song your playing. Something different from what other people are playing on their youtuve video!
What a fabulous recipe! Well done ..... Great music too......
Thanks for adding the music, I enjoyed it and the recipe.
Love love. Thank you! Great music 😊
Once jar sauce is sealed with jar top & cooled - can the jars be stored in kitchen cabinet?
Is there a reply
Oh Laura, what funny music you choose but oh my, many of us in the south of England would love those winds and showers right now! Good one for allotment growers with a glut. Me? Just recovering my tree root riden raised veg beds from years of neglect and brambles and nettles so no good for me and my six yellow tom plants which haven't yet ripened - loved your video anyway :)
They look like gorgious Italian toms and I bet they taste delichous! How long can they be stored for (seeing Kilner type jars makes me think of jams and fermented food, which I think this is neither) or is the thought of freezing relevant? Prob best I go view recipe!
I forgot to include it in the "more info", though I mentioned it on Instagram, the tomatoes are picked by the tiny little hands at Fattoria Riparo (a summer agricamp in Italy - where also my kids attend).
I don't have a garden, anymore, but for this video I didn't want to use grocery-store tomatoes (as in the photographs in the instructions). It wasn't easy for the camp to gather 8 pounds in a single day before recording but all the kids and educators shook every corner of the vegetable patch for the reddest tomatoes! Ciao, L
This shows that you do not need a pressure cooker. All you did was heat everything up and leave it open for the water to evaporate. All you need is a regular pot and minimal heat.
Worry re non stick lining. Weird the jars are not safe, can only be kept in fridge for a short time. Need to be water bath canned. The pressure cooking etc does not sterilise the filled jars.
Can this sauce be hot water bath canned?
No spices other than the basil?
NO salt in an Italian recipe?
Didn’t see spices/herbs added…weird.
I'm sure the sauce is delicious, but please make it clear that this is NOT for long term storage. This sauce should be treated as perishable. That may not be clear to many people because as the sauce cools, the seal button will go down and people may think that's good enough to keep it long term like that. And also people associate mason jars with long term storage.
Thanks, Lynn! The linked recipe instructions include refrigeration, freezing and pressure canning instructions. Ciao, L
hip pressure cooking - pressure cooker recipes, reviews & tips I was hoping that this would be a video on how to pressure can - any chance of seeing that?
Leonmpj Exactly. I paid 350$ australian and find I cannot use this. The lining s carcinogenic. Non stick I well known all vein are I if. An his tomato bottlin is no safe, it’s just boiling tomatoes etc an putting into hopefully ot sti,is Ed nars, though that’s not mentioned. This I appalling, terrible terrible company. I was hoping I could steam can by sitting hot bottle bottles of tomatoes...passata...with 3 cups of water or whatever in th we. Then my food would be safe.
So this is not long term non refrigeration storage?
@@redwood1957 Absolutely not. It would need to be refrigerated and used fairly quickly. To be shelf stable it would have to be water-bath or pressure canned.
