Many cams don’t even have teeth. It’s not how the cam works. Teeth help the device in one sense as in they prevent the device walking while not under load. But they make little difference in an actual fall. Cams are capable of gripping quartzite cracks. (Which feels like a river pebble. Smooth and hard) cams grip through immense friction of the soft aluminium being forced under high pressure against the rock.
Pushing it back farther would’ve helped some but that rock looks kind of crumbly and that placement has probably been used so many times it’s wore out for that size cam
I'll never have that problem. No worries about that for me. I don't use mechanical equipment. Oh and yeah I would never climb something that an easy walking pace won't get me there

Akku impact drill andpolymer plugs with bolts type "o" s will solve this problem .. just drill holes in rock, put plugs into them , screw o-bolts into them and climb in safety .. 💪🛠️👍

its not 100% sure the stuff hold tight strong to the cracked stone..Your only 50/50 chance to fall from the high to the ground..

@@dcraexona bigger cam is the solution. A hex might fit in the “v” shape a bit but I would trust the cam more.
