Oh Kate, I enjoy your videos so much. Are you going to post any more. I know life gets in the way, but I really need more ideas for easier needle tatting as I'm still new at it. You were/are my go-to for tatting instruction. Thanks and please post again.

Greetings AND Gratitudes for this Tatted Frog Clasp. This is exactly what I needed for a thrifted sweater I am remaking into a cardigan. Gonna make Frog-like toggle clasps on the front. Thanks be for supporting me. Peace be, Nita

Hi Mary! No I haven't had a chance too. A lot of family commitments got in the way of making videos this year. Hopeful to be able to get back to it in the new year. Than you for the encouragement. :) Happy New Year!!!

I am learning this art now, thank you for your channel. I hope you'll post more videos. They are amazing. Youre a great tracher. Thank you❤
If you put a sheet of papper under it will be easy to see the black, My eyes start to get bad, and that is what I use for to put the thread on the needle, other wise I couldnt see the little hole 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I am trying to learn needle tatting and I came across a shuttle pattern that's two colors. What advice can you give on doing it by needle tatting and changing colors?

I inherited my mom’s tatting supplies when she passed. I never learned to tat while she was alive so I feel a bit of a loss at figuring out what everything is. There are several sizes of needles and some with a hook on the end which is similar to a crochet hook. How do i figure out the sizes of the needles when there is no marking to indicate this? What is the needle with a hook on the end for? There are also several wooden dowels of various widths. Are these for tatting or something else? I wish I could ask my mom but it is too late.

Linda, first let me say that I am sorry for your loss. I am sure she would be so glad that you have kept her supplies and are looking into what they are and how to enjoy them.
The hooks do come in a range of sizes. The middle size (and most often used or standard size) is size 5. The larger needles are "smaller" numerical sizes and the smaller ones are "larger" numerical sizes. It is usually easiest to identify which is the middle size and then use it as a scale for figuring out the sizes of the others. There are also tatting needle gauge size charts and measures available (I saw one on wal-mart.com recently), but I haven't used one personally.
The needle with the hook is probably something called "cro-tat." It was a popular new craft in the early 2000's, but has kind of disappeared lately. If you google "cro-tatting" there are some nice websites on how to do it with project ideas, ebay also has some good supplies and patterns.
The wood dowels are probably either for macrame or possibly for cro-tatting if she had planned to make wall hangings. If the wood dowels have points on them (?), they could be for knitting. Knitting uses multiple pointed end thin dowels for knitting socks and such.
      I hope that helps! Hug.

Can one needle tat using two needles and two colors?

You can definitely tat with two colors on two needles. But can also tat two colors using one needle. It just requires specific techniques.
