I like how you started this putting together all the tools etc that will be required. I was hoping this was a video in ENLARGING A crawl space opening. My furnace died and all the hvac people say the openings to small to fit a new furnace. Can enlarging it be possible? Could you do a video in that?
I just bought an 18V DeWalt combo 6 piece tool set with similar tools to those, with that same DeWalt bag which got me hyped watching this video lol. I've got to build a crawlspace door and I'm excited to do it, but have never done it before so this video helps. Cheers!
Jon, I also have a Dewalt Hammer drill, however, I also have a Dewalt drill as well as the impact driver...but most regular drills do not have a hammer setting on them...Just hammer drills...the hammer drill has the regular drill setting in case you need to drill through wood or other such materials...Nice job you did, I too still use my XRP batteries for all my cordless tools, keep getting new ones at Lowe's when they have the specials 2 batteries for $99.00...good deal and they work great...
"It's fun!" I'm a 45-year-old disabled female and agree-really fun! I have the time-I just lack the tools. And let's face it-missing a bit of strength here. So many DIY projects I would absolutely LOVE to do myself. Definitely need new crawl door-frame is fine.
Hey bro. Nice job! I’m up in Paramus and just bought an expanded ranch. Lots of homeowner specials everywhere. Trying to attack little projects one by one. What do you think of metal access panels for crawl spaces?
I just got a new driveway poured and I have a half basement. There are no videos on cutting out and building new to fit a door that is going to be couple inches taller. This is the closed video I have found. Hopefully getting help from someone but thanks for this video!
Thanks Jon, Good to see family helping family. you seem to like the Dewalt drill, may I ask what do you do when the batteries die? do you buy replacement's or refurbish the old batteries? just curious.
It's good to watch someone else deal deal with not having the proper setting/tools. Makes me feel right at home. Of course if it were me there'd be a bunch more cussing.
When I'm on site I also do things with my circular saw freehand that I would never attempt in the shop. If only there was a way to clamp tiny little pieces of wood down to a black plastic bucket turned upside down...
Hey what are those latches called? That's exactly what I'm looking for but I can't find the name of them. I've scoured home depot and lowes and nothing they have comes close.
The problem I have with my circle saw on 2x4 is that my ryobi ( what I can afford ) just runs out of hp even when I have a new blade and lithium ion battery fully charged.
Not bad but....I hope U dont have copper/thieves in ur area because that aint secure....its good enuf for the 4 legged animals but not for the 2 legged animals.......bcawz if they are willing to mule kick it or just use a cordless chain saw to cut a new hole???
Good video of showing someone working. Unfortunately, not enough "how to" videos, just videos showing someone working. Thinking I'm going to have to hire someone to do this project and just watch them
Bless you for filming this --- it is exactly what I need --- from elderly female doing her own repairs !!!
Sorry about all the construction noise, they were working on the road in front Dave’s house.
i like it, is more realistic. like if i do that, is exactly the way is going to end, 2 o 3 tools, 1 hand holding the saw XD
"That's what she said."
Classic!
I just can't stop laughing at that joke! jajaja
Next to "Your mama.", it's my favorite.
Packing the bag of tools for the job away from home. The hardest part. Something good in all your vids. Thanks.
+TODD SWENSON thanks Todd, yeah I always forget something could've used chisel on this project
"That's what she said" is overheard in my shop at least once a day!
+Michael P. Mills never gets old :)

+Joseph Brauer thanks Joseph
Gotta do whatcha gotta do. Great job.
+D Dixon thanks! Yeah it is what it is :)
I think I’m more impressed with the vertical rip on that tiny stock using a hand saw
Thanks Jon, Good to see family helping family. you seem to like the Dewalt drill, may I ask what do you do when the batteries die? do you buy replacement's or refurbish the old batteries? just curious.
nice job improvising, especially the rabbit and the 'work bench'
+Jeffrey Dubinsky thanks Jeffrey
For driver bits look no further than the Wiha Terminator bits. They are the BEST bits money can buy and not expensive either.
Good job, Jon, those types of jobs can lead in many different directions if the concrete breaks out :>)
+Steve Collins Thanks Steve, yeah that's for sure!
Good stuff Jon!
Hi Jon

The problem I have with my circle saw on 2x4 is that my ryobi ( what I can afford ) just runs out of hp even when I have a new blade and lithium ion battery fully charged.
