Hey Travis, I think your work on the '36 is fantastic. I found your channel when you had finished installing the cowl. I when back to the start to watch the first episode (and the following episodes) to see what the car was like when you started.
Man, the car was in such bad shape, when you see where it's at now you've done an incredible job. Also, it's great to see your son in the shop with Dad.
    Cheers,
    from Downunder.

So glad you said you are going to flange the bottom inch or so of the chin/new metal, it was starting to look like a Mack truck front bumper... Keep plugging away at it, the progress is great.

That's quite a lot of additional front end. Now that I see where you were going with it, I like it. Behind the face are there going to be any supports or stiffening brackets? There is going to be a pretty good amount of pressure at road speeds. I heard you mention the flange to be added under. I guess that is a good place to add some strength. Fantastic work you do. Your very skilled and I wish you continued success. Beautiful Car.

My first time watching your channel! You have some excellent fabricating skills. Very impressive work on the grill sides and fender extensions. I will be tuning in for more. It's nice to see some quality work for a change as most garage guys on here are just butchers. I'm very impressed with the quality of your work. I consider myself a much better than average metal worker, and I have built many rods , so I know what quality work should look like.

You might flange bottom over 1 1/2 “ and wire edge it too. That’s going to need extra stiffness because of ground clearance issues

    • @jacobnesbitt4793
      @jacobnesbitt4793 Год назад

Plus you can show us how to do the wired edge.

When i change wheel openings ,i cut the size out and add 3/8 ths steel rod ,welded to the edge ,, on the inside like a ford rolled edge or on the outside showing a reveal line like chevys ,,,, makes them strong

great job, glad to see you showing more of how you work the metal, What brand of hand shears do you use, they just seem to cut and cut and cut. Keep up the good work

I might have missed it, but are you welding the fender extensions to the fender, or planning a seam visible from the side?

    • @RACGARAGE

Fender extensions are not getting welded to the fenders

Put it on the ground, it may be to low at the bottom of the grill. I have a 39 Chevy that is low in front and i hit the front chin panel on one of those little concrete turtles 🐢, it did a lot of damage . Keep up the good work.

  • @pameladunn7346

here's a way to tell a 30 from a 31 model A - if it has a tear drop shape indentation (appx 6-7" x 4") and two inch deep on the passenger side of the firewall (diagonally "its a 1931) like a big 39 tail light bucket sideways

  • @johnkelly6942

Need to see it with the headlights, sitting outside. In the garage you’re looking at it too closely and can’t really tell what it looks like.
