Awesome wrap, great job John. Would love to see your work in person next time we're near Whidbey. Love the channel and always look forward to new posts.
Nicely done. Question....when you only go on the top side does that shift your axis. So on a blank when you have zero straight up along with you guides will it look like ithe wrap is not lines up with the guides.
@@craigcampbell2687 - Great question Craig and ish. It is still lined up with your center line, but you would be wrapping away from it like you said. If you want the completed wrap to be completely centered on the guides than you could easily start wrapping on the other side for the equal amounts of wraps you did obove the center line. Does this make sense?
Hello. I've seen your straw technique and I think it's genius! My question is that when you have to do bigger tag wraps you always do 5 wraps, and then burnish and then another 5 wraps and burnish. Can you just wrap 10 times over the straw and then tighten down? Or 15 wraps? Or should you always do 5 and tighten until you get the width you want? Thanks!!
I only use the straw for rag wraps and at a maximum of five wraps. Any other wraps I do I usually always pack the threads after a few individual wraps. Hope this helps and thank you for watching and commenting.
I can't visualize it but I am going to do it on a dowel before I start my build. Thanks for getting back to me as you always have. Respectfully, Craig
@@craigcampbell2687 - Anytime time Craig and let me know if you have any more questions.
That’s actually really cool . I definitely wouldn’t mind having a rod handle like this
@@Allyourbase1990 - thank you and I’m glad you like it. Would you like a custom one built?

Why do you wrap single threads in one direction and not up and back?
@@jamesdoyle5318 - for this pattern you have to do single wraps. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Apologizing for asking, what camera and setup you use?
