as a taskmaster fan I did really enjoy it and it did feel different to the source material but in a good way. and i would love to see more episodes done! i think the hardest thing would be having good guests that can play off each other well

Just a thought
On The Yard, Slime asked why he didn't end up in Stanz's role since they had originally planned for that. Listen, I love Slime, he's really funny, but this show doesn't work without Stanz. The assistant (or "Alex Horne") role is all about finding the balance between maintaining structure (explaining tasks/jobs, making sure contestants are able to do their best to complete them, introducing the videos) and enabling comedy (telling jokes, encouraging contestants to try weird strategies, allowing for people to make jokes between the videos). On one hand, it's a gameshow where everyone is trying to win, completing "jobs" to the best of their ability, but on the other hand it's a comedy show where contestants should be daring and should fail, and where keeping score has to be second to jokes, so it's a really tough balance to find, and the assistant is the biggest make-or-break in the show. As Ludwig said, Stanz is a really big Taskmaster fan, and has seen enough to have a good sense of that balance and a willingness to play that role. Anyone else would probably end up taking too much attention or being too scared to take enough, or too focused on maintaining the competition to allow for comedy or too focused on maintaining comedy to allow for competition, and any of those things hurt this show. There's a reason why, in Taskmaster, the assistant role is played by Alex Horne, the creator of the show who had previously hosted two live shows with a similar concept: it requires a deep understanding of what the show should be and feel like. Not to make this already overanalytical comment even nerdier but it's the same as being a dungeon master in a D&D game, you don't control everything and you have to embrace what everyone else is contributing, but you need to be the one who has a sense of where the story is going, gently guiding everyone else towards something that is both what they wanted it to be and what you needed it to be. Slime is great, he's more than capable of hosting a show, we all know he's hilarious and he can enforce rules when he needs to. However, no matter how talented you are, this format requires the assistant to have such a strong awareness of the pace, the contestants' dynamics, the audience's feelings, and overall vibes that it's nearly impossible to nail first try. Luckily, Stanz - although understandably seeming a little nervous in the live segments, meaning he's only going to get better as he becomes more comfortable - has that awareness because he's so familiar with Taskmaster. The first episode of Unpaid Intern was great, day one you hit the ground running, and that is without a doubt because of Stanz.
Please do more stuff with Daniel. I’ve watched him for years in addition to you and some of the others, and he meshed so well with the vibe. He should definitely be brought back for a winners episode of Unpaid Intern but also he should just be part of more collabs in general.
ngl i was hoping that it would be more like taskmaster where it was a whole season with the same guests for a whole season and the points were added up at the end. But i really enjoyed watching it and am super excited to watch the next episode.
@@Baegettrue, its also probably harder to get content creators for multiple hours and days instead of a once or twice for one time, but I do get OP’s comment
Yeah, it would probably become an issue when they run out of people who want to and can do it, sense it seems to be in a studio in California. And it seems like a lot of editing to do a whole season, but maybe then they could actually have time to advertise it
What was going through your brain when you decided to release the Unpaid Intern trailer on your clips channel? Thats a main channel type of upload. Completely fumbled the bag with that
to be honest, i watch your stuff pretty frequently and i genuinely had no idea unpaid intern was being released until the video just showed up in my recommended. i knew it existed and what it was about beforehand from the content you put out mentioning it, but i had no idea anything about the date it was supposed to happen for some reason and im not sure if it was because the date wasnt apparent enough or what, but i feel like most people likely had an issue similar to mine in which we knew it was coming but didnt really know an actual date. (also im aware you tweeted about it but god forbid i touch twitter, most normal people are probably similar on staying away from twitter as well)
Honestly, I NEVER saw any advertising for it most likely because everything relating to streamer awards was getting pushed to me still at the time. I agree that lud couldve had more live viewers because i was captivated the entire vod. It was the best Ludwig event stream imo. It was amazing and I hope he keeps it up, but if there's anything he can do better its really just mentioning it in his videos like how he did with chessboxing and other events. Doesn't have to be solely a trailer.
Tbh from the thumbnail of the video I didn’t even realize it was a special video I thought it was a vlog or something The thumbnail for this video caught my attention way more!
I loved Daniel thrasher, I’m very interested to see how the show might change if the dynamics are different. I don’t want to say this is just “mogul money 2” or anything, but with mogul money the show was very different when the people knew each other well (the episode with the yard boys, miz+sodapoppin), and those were some of the best episodes, but honestly this episode kind of felt like it was better because none of the people were particularly “associated” with each other. You mentioned on The Yard potentially having Almost Friday on the show, I’m interest to see how that will compare to this ep. I feel like a psychopath writing all this down, but it is really cool to see this very personality driven industry intersecting with this type of content, it’s kind of like Jane Lynch’s “Hollywood Game Night” if the guests didn’t seem like they were being held there at gunpoint
honestly i think it was a very good first episode, i was so invested that i genuinely stop everything i was doing to watch. I wasn't multitasking while watching. Hope to see more episodes! It was very good the cast for the guests as well, they are so good for the roles
I’m a regular viewer of Lud and had no idea about this event until I saw it live halfway through its run. It was a fun stream with a great cast. Could have done better with more publicity
Yo, I thought the show was great. The only problem that I had was that I watched the teacher part of it on this channel and it took me forever to find the name of the show. For the future, if you could add a link to the vod in the description, that would be great!
Idk why Ludwig is quite defensive/sure that he is absolutely right about the marketing of the show like there are tons of people saying they had no clue about the show before hand. Also he keeps comparing to mogul money when he said unpaid intern was of a higher quality and released now when his fan base is much larger.
its cool that he's happy with the numbers, but literally the reason everyone is complaining about the marketing is bc a LOT of us striaght up had never heard of it until the vod upload hit our recommends. we want to be in the know dubbin. call us every once in a while. tell us what youre up to. its lonely up here in new hampshire. we miss you.
As a big fan of taskmaster, I never even thought of it being a ripoff or even related to the taskmaster until you did the "I legally can't call these things tasks" joke. The concept is executed in such a unique way that it really feels like an original show even though you're just a no-good thief.
Unpaid intern was advertised poorly. I learned about it first from the RUclips community post like a day (or two?) before the stream. I thought the stream was great but I was thinking that a lot of people could of missed the stream bc they just never knew about it. Call me crazy.
I love how in denial Ludwig is that the advertising didn't suck absolute ass. I had no clue this event existed or even happened until "Ludwin" the fucking clips channel literally just posted this video! I would've loved to watch the event live if it was properly marketed!
I saw stanz video and had a helluva time finding it today. Please don't stop I love it !!!! It just needs to be linked in your players videos and promotion better cuz I couldn't find it to save my life
Besides the audio my biggest complaint would be the long delay after the commercials while watching the edit on RUclips. Why leave in the 4 or 5 minutes of countdown for now reason. I'm all curled up on the couch and got to get up to skip through it like some pleb.
Honestly. This is “bringing back” a lot of nostalgic gameshows/hostshows imo. I really love this form of entertainment and Lud being the show host is absolutely perfect. I enjoyed unpaid intern to its fullest! Especially the full youtube vid.
I thoroughly enjoyed unpaid intern. I didn’t really hear about it until I saw the upload but it was by far one of the most creative video ideas I’ve seen in a long time. The commercials? Fantastic. You did a great job man!
It’s just ahead of it’s time. I thought it was a great concept and video. Didn’t know it was coming but it is the type of production that paves the way for many more RUclips based shows with a good budget to take place. I luv u Ludaddy
I loved the vibes of Unpaid Intern and am excited to see the riffing get better as the show progresses. I would love to see some of the background elements, like Jerma's broken printer act as segues into announcing the "jobs not tasks." It's an awesome show and I'm excited to see more of my favorite creators in new episodes.
It came up in my RUclips feed about 2 or 3 days ago, I watched it in it's entirety and enjoyed every second of it. I left it hoping there was another episode to follow. Problem is I just never knew or heard about it until it happened to come into my feed by chance!
Just saw the edited video. Had no knowledge of what the show was before that. I loved it, and then saw this videos title and got super worried we weren’t gonna get new episodes.
Influenced by Task Master is a little bit of an understatement: the underling on a smaller chair/desk, the point scoring, the live task in studio, the jazzy music, it's pretty much the exact same with a different theme. Not complaining just observing. Overall how it was put together the editing and camera and scripting was quite impressive. Also there was advertisements for it? Never saw one, only saw the RUclips upload, so the algorithm was a better marketing campaign than whatever you actually did.
i literally didn't know what the show was. I heard the announcement and all i could think was "okay but what IS it???", even when the stream popped up in my sub box I still didn't know what it was
I watched it and it was really great and fun, what anooyed me the most and almost had me stop, was the sound levels of the vod. It was very low and the youtube ads then turned out to be -extremely- loud. I couldn't really relax because I had to be on my toes about turning the volume up and down.
Unpaid intern is my favourite thing you have ever produced, the concept is already so good, seeing creators doing it is a guaranteed slam dunk. Stanz was such a highlight too!
lol it seems like everyone is critics now. I absolutely loved Unpaid Intern, and I knew it was an alteration of taskmaster, but it had a great spin and different setting that made it feel unique. I also laughed so fking hard, you chose the best four interns for the first/introduction episode. I did however saw the announcement video, but completely forgot about it and didn't know about the livestream until I saw the vod out. For some reason, youtube advertised the vod on the top of my feed, but not the actual livestream. But it's whatever. Loved it a lot and hope it see more come out in the near future!

as a taskmaster fan I did really enjoy it and it did feel different to the source material but in a good way. and i would love to see more episodes done! i think the hardest thing would be having good guests that can play off each other well
I loved the unpaid intern , but honestly I did not expect it, I've seen the trailer on RUclips but I didn't really gave it a lot of thought and the show felt like it came up out of nowhere, I think a better Idea would've been to either post the trailer on the main channel or put it at the end of couple of main channel videos. Just a thought
That title spooked me because I loved episode 1 so I'm stoked to hear it didn't flop. Looking forward to future episodes!
Agreed
Please do more stuff with Daniel. I’ve watched him for years in addition to you and some of the others, and he meshed so well with the vibe. He should definitely be brought back for a winners episode of Unpaid Intern but also he should just be part of more collabs in general.
ngl i was hoping that it would be more like taskmaster where it was a whole season with the same guests for a whole season and the points were added up at the end. But i really enjoyed watching it and am super excited to watch the next episode.
I agree, I would have loved it to be like that, but at the same time, it would be a lot of work for a youtuber like Lud to do all the crap
I thought unpaid intern was gonna be a like episodic show and not a gameshow
Tbh from the thumbnail of the video I didn’t even realize it was a special video I thought it was a vlog or something
The thumbnail for this video caught my attention way more!
Unpaid intern was one of the best videos i've seen from you, ludwig
Would absolutely make my day if Almost Friday came on. Agreed with the dynamics point for sure.
those are a lot of big words...
on another note, I would also move to see Almost Friday on the show
I genuinely had no idea it was a thing until after i started seeing clips and i watch nearly every video on your channel and the yard.
I watched it live and I was pleasantly surprised when it came on my notifications! I had no clue Lud was doing it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
1:51 “Ludwig hit the griddy please”
I had no idea this show was coming until I saw the VOD. Watched the whole thing on my TV and it was amazing.
I suggest Masayoshi honestly. That man is super good at bits.
I feel like Ludwig did a really good job at reading that first Reddit post, but did a pretty poor job of comprehending it.
Well said
Wow, he did not take this very reasonable criticism well
honestly i think it was a very good first episode, i was so invested that i genuinely stop everything i was doing to watch. I wasn't multitasking while watching. Hope to see more episodes! It was very good the cast for the guests as well, they are so good for the roles
I learned about it from a Jschlatt compilation, and if that's not pathetic advertusement, I don't know what is...
I’m a regular viewer of Lud and had no idea about this event until I saw it live halfway through its run. It was a fun stream with a great cast. Could have done better with more publicity
Dougdoug for the next unpaid intern PLEASE
Yo, I thought the show was great. The only problem that I had was that I watched the teacher part of it on this channel and it took me forever to find the name of the show. For the future, if you could add a link to the vod in the description, that would be great!
I didn't hear about it until Jerma mentioned it on his puzzle stream
I love how people losing their mind about being a video or a livestream meanwhile me as a VOD watcher laughing my ass off.
9:22 HELLO, Internsauce. Michael here.
I love how in denial Ludwig is that the advertising didn't suck absolute ass. I had no clue this event existed or even happened until "Ludwin" the fucking clips channel literally just posted this video! I would've loved to watch the event live if it was properly marketed!
Yeah, i totally thought it was pre-recorded and i still didnt get a yt notification for when the vod was posted
NOOOO IT DIDNT PLEASE LUD
I saw stanz video and had a helluva time finding it today. Please don't stop I love it !!!! It just needs to be linked in your players videos and promotion better cuz I couldn't find it to save my life
Also when you Google unpaid internship your show is the last thing on there
Would love to eventually see Cdawg (+ Chris), Professor Lando, and Doug Doug on Unpaid Intern
Unpaid intern was awesome, but I don't watch any content that doesn't have schlatt in a thumbnail or title somewhere so I missed the stream
I actually liked this lightly edited format a lot more like this would be great !!
Besides the audio my biggest complaint would be the long delay after the commercials while watching the edit on RUclips. Why leave in the 4 or 5 minutes of countdown for now reason. I'm all curled up on the couch and got to get up to skip through it like some pleb.
Can we get Michael reeves as an intern
Ludwig and Sidemen need to collab, Sidemen would smoke you in geoguesser, especially Harry or Josh
Lud on that "im not wrong youre wrong" bs lmao 😂😂😂😂
I really enjoyed it, but I only found out about it from a notification about going live, and luckily wasn't doing anything at the time
Not a Reddit or Twitter guy.
Only knew about the show because of Jschlatt's IG story.
I loved every bit of the show. Fantastic work.
Daniel thrasher was such an unexpected pleasant surprise. I’ve watched his skits for a while because I’m a music guy, and it was an awesome crossover
Ngl I hope Lud keeps going with Unpaid Intern, it was so fun to watch!
I think seeing dream on unpaid intern would be sick especially considering he hasn't done a lot of irl yet
If i watched the VOD/Live is the edited video different enough to be worth watching
It feels so weird watching a ludwig video that has absolutely no music. It feels so off, almost like i walked in on him changing
Ludwin*
It was my favorite thing you have done. I agree with the blowing the bubble just because the other tasks were so great.
It wasn't my favorite but your one of my favorites. Looking forward to more projects. Keep creating.
There was some mic issues where I couldn't hear people talking but besides that it was really good
It came up in my RUclips feed about 2 or 3 days ago, I watched it in it's entirety and enjoyed every second of it. I left it hoping there was another episode to follow. Problem is I just never knew or heard about it until it happened to come into my feed by chance!
I recognized the taskmaster format in minutes, but the yoink and twist was perfect. cant wait for more episodes!
You can probably get matpat on unpaid intern now that he has no more channels to run.
this video actually made me watch the whole vod and i hadn't heard about it until like 2 hours ago
I loved the advertisement bit. It genuinely made me want redbull
It's a fusion of taskmaster and the office.
I heard the announcement and all i could think was "okay but what IS it???", even when the stream popped up in my sub box I still didn't know what it was
HOLY SHIT IM IN A LUDWIN VIDEO I WAS IN THE COMMENTS ON THE SHORT
I watched it and it was really great and fun, what anooyed me the most and almost had me stop, was the sound levels of the vod. It was very low and the youtube ads then turned out to be -extremely- loud. I couldn't really relax because I had to be on my toes about turning the volume up and down.
i didnt even know it was a vod, i watched the full thing thinking it was an experimental youtube show
Unpaid intern is my favourite thing you have ever produced, the concept is already so good, seeing creators doing it is a guaranteed slam dunk. Stanz was such a highlight too!
Had no idea this was even a thing so I can understand the advertising comments
Ludwig is the king of inventing shows that already exist.
ludwig talking about how nl has street smarts over book smarts: he doesnt know about the golf spreadsheet ICANT
I enjoy the show and respect how well the internal ads were integrated.
I didn't know it was happening until after, but I watched the VOD and it was honestly one of the funniest things I have seen in a while.
lol it seems like everyone is critics now. Loved it a lot and hope it see more come out in the near future!
the best unpaid intern episode was the one with emily, austin, squeex and paymoneywubby
To be 100% honest. The only reason I knew about the show was from Colin and Samirs recent video, followed by a singular clip of Schlatt out of context.
Watching this video completely dumbfounded as to what unpaid intern is
I saw the trailer, didn't really know what it was, and subsequently forgot about it
Literally had not heard of Unpaid Intern until this video
I did see the trailer but I ended up thinking the entire show was gonna involve children
Any of these major events such as unpaid intern, dodgeball and such I never get any notification for or links on my homepage
Get the safety third guys. William osman, backyard scientist, and Allen Pan
I found the vod in my recommendations the day after it happened
