John Mayer said pretty much the same when he presented her with an award (when he was dating her); that she is the only one who doesn't get that she is actually that good. In her interviews, she will comment sometimes on how insecure she actually is, and how she always thinks people will get tired of her.
Yes, she wrote Speak Now completely by herself in response to critics and haters who said she couldn't write. And she was only 19! Also, if you thought the base in Delicate sounded like a heartbeat, wait until you hear Wildest Dreams from 1989. She used her actual heartbeat in the song.
Agree below, it wasn’t because she wasn’t pulling her weight. She wrote Speak Now because critics didn’t believe she was writing the songs. So she did it to prove them wrong.
I'm so glad you decided to react to this series! Her songwriting ability really shines Would gladly sit through 1hr+ of your reactions, hope you feel better!
I honestly wish that artist uploaded more of the behind the scenes because this is so fascinating. To be a fly on the wall while they're working on their craft feels mind-blowing
Some are saying she wrote Speak Now in response to skeptics who disputed her songwriting credits. Yes and no. There was an interview back when she was touring it, when she gave another reason which she said was more important than the idiot critics. She toured for a year and a half for Fearless, extending the tour for a second swing overseas; she wrote nearly all of Speak Now during the touring phase, then went into the studio and released it within 6 months. As she put it, none of the people she had normally written with, were ON that tour bus (or airplane), especially at two in the morning or whatever inconvenient times the ideas show up. So she had enough material for the entire album by the time the tour was over. I would like to refer anyone who said she couldn't write to the Nashville Songwriters Association: I've read that she was their Songwriter of the Year for 6 years straight (I think every year from the debut (2007)to Red (2013)). Stilo, all her albums until Lover were late fall releases, which affects when they are eligible for awards; Evermore, for instance, will likely be up for the next Grammy cycle.
Even when she worked with Liz Rose at the beginning of her career, Liz said she would always just guide her a little bit but the lyrics were all Taylor. Imogen Heap said she felt like she didn’t contribute enough on the songs for her to have a writing credit. Ryan Tedder has said multiple times that the only time he’s felt useless on a writing session was when he worked with Taylor, he said that with her is more like editing than writing.
If you want to see how Taylor interacts with the people, go and watch any of the videos posted by her fans describing their experience when they met her at her house. These are called secret sessions and the fans' make storytime videos on how did it go.
@@StiloReacts yeah and just to be clear, they can't record it since it's inside her own freakin house. So it's in a storytime format and therefore you should watch it on your own free time just to grasp the kind of connection she has with her fans. She even did a 13+ hours meet and greet for free with some performance in between. Like you said, she's too humble. It blows my mind.
She usually splits the songwriting/publishing royalties pretty evenly with her co-writers. Maybe she could push for highest percentages but I guess it's not worth trampling on egos and she has other more lucrative sources of income anyways? She usually has only 1-2 cowriters though so that's still a decent percentage even if it's evenly split.
What was moving in the background: it looks like a platform for cleaning the outside windows and other exterior mainenence. A contractor would have put it up. Probably runs the whole side of the building, extends a long way past her windows. I think this is her NYC condo. ok, I've watched a half dozen of these, I subscribed.
Oh no you got covid??? I’m sorry to hear that! Yeah it’s no joke. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it :) I’ll have to check all those out for sure!!!
@@StiloReacts luckily i didn't have too much of a rough time! some trouble breathing, muscle aches, a cough, and a runny nose was the worst of it for me! and taylor looks SO good in the blank space music video!! i love the outfits in that one. bad blood is great because Kendrick Lamar is featured on it and they sound really nice together. they have a great flow.
@@06charlotte Im glad it wasn't too bad for you. :) Their chemistry on the sound was nice, I agree I love Kendrick. So Ill have to react to that video eventually too!
I do think Taylor is humble. But, I also think she knows she’s got something special. But, she also knows that in this business, things can change on a dime. So, she tries not to take it for granted. I think she NEEDS the approval of thousands of people. I think she fears it all going away. I hope she can find peace in herself without the NEED for the approval.
Taylor considers herself a song writer first. Even her stationary says “song writer and cat enthusiast” and nothing about being a singer. She’s a writer who sings her own songs. If she never used a mic she could have had a great writing career alone. And her vocals have improved A LOT. I like older Taylor but she def wasn’t a strong singer. And that’s okay. She was signed to a writing deal at like 12 or so with a major label. When she turned 17 they had to decide whether to sign her for singing too or continue to just have her work on writing and they chose the writing bc they didn’t think her voice was strong enough yet. So she left and went to big machine. But she got her writing deal at probably 12 or 13.
Maybe it's just people's personality. Like sometimes I always want to be heartless or try to don't give a damn about what people around me thinks. But I just can't, I'm way too emotional.
To be honest I had just caught Covid. Literally that week, and I wanted to get the point across that it's still very real outside. lol I wasn't going to put the mask all the way on cause I cant talk through it.
For being so famous and talented she is one of the most humble people. Like, girl... you a genius, brag on yourself for a minute.
!!! That’s what I’m saying haha
Hell yeah! We celebrate her music, not tolerate it.

If she wasn't that humble, people would drag her and call arrogant... Her song "the man" reflects it)
That’s true !

Thank you so much! It’s been a joy to watch her process. Thank you for watching and I appreciate it ❤️
There’s times when she talks her shit and I LOVE IT but most of the time she keeps quiet on her accomplishments and talent
I can respect that lol
if she were a man, she'd be the man
Part of the reason I like Taylor so much is because she sets a great example for everyone by being so humble.
Very true
I honestly wish that artist uploaded more of the behind the scenes because this is so fascinating. To be a fly on the wall while they're working on their craft feels mind-blowing
I agree with this sentiment !

gota remember Taylor pulls her weight in all her writing sessions, it's just most producers won't work with you without a writing credit.

true even of she already have like a full song before coming into the studio

Loved the video 👍 also-if you’re reacting to the compilation video I think you are, they left out the making of Don’t Blame Me!
Thank you for watching! Oh yeah I did notice that!

I thought it was window washers lowering their scaffolding.
That would make sense lol
Why do you have a mask kind of on while you’re in your house? I mean I’m assuming you’re in your house.
